I really enjoyed my experience at Brewsky's! I was skeptical at first and figured it might be like any other sports bar, but I was wrong! Some friends and I ended up here to watch an Ohio State basketball game and the UFC fight right after. We knew we were in for a long night, so we ordered lots of food and drinks throughout the night.
The food:
We got Taco Cheesy Fries, Parmesan Garlic wings and chips & salsa. The fries came out on a huge plate that was the size of a pizza pan. That was great because I was expecting a lot less. They were pretty good! It was fries with cheese, taco meat, salsa, sour cream, and liquid cheese. We ate those up pretty fast. The wings were delicious. The sauce had a great parmesan garlic flavor - definitely not your BWW Parm Garlic. It had more of a buffalo flavor. The chips & salsa were just ok. Pretty much what you would expect from a sports bar.
The drinks: They have $2 Labatt Blue drafts all day, every day so that is what I was drinking. I wasn't sitting close to the bar so I didn't see how many beers were on tap, but I noticed that people were ordering a wide variety of beer outside the typical domestics.
The atmosphere: I love this place because of the vibe it gives off. It is super casual and fun. We visited on a Saturday night, and the place was pretty lively. They had a ping pong table, pool tables and darts. They also had some basketball games and skeeball. AWESOME. We had so much fun playing ping pong and darts in between the OSU game and UFC fight. They have huge projection TV's and other televisions around the whole bar. The waitresses we had were extremely attentive, and we were never left with an empty glass. I love the fact that they have two bars. Easier access to the booze is never a bad thing.
If you want an awesome game-watching experience, head to Brewsky's for a fun time!
This is the sad sad story of a bar that could be (and should be) so much more. Â Upon my most recent visit to watch the NFL conference championship games with friends, I decided it was time to properly bitch to the only source I know of. Â My buddies and I have frequented Brewskis for a number of years now and have usually had a descent time there. Â If you are a sports fan this should be a solid spot on your radar to catch games, but recently the place has just been one big ole disappointment. Â Over the years the prices have gone up, the food has gotten worse (it was barely mediocre to begin with) and there has been no investment whatsoever in the quality of the bar. Â All the tools are in place to become a kick ass sports bar, but the parts aren't meshing at all. Â It's begging for new life in here. Â I do not own a sportsbar...but if I did you can bet your sweet ass I would be 100% prepared to treat my customers to a fantastic Sunday of football, drinks and munchies. Â This has not been the case during my last few visits and was not the case on this day either...quite the opposite. Â There doesn't seem to be anyone taking charge of the TV's and sound system during sporting events. Â If fact, on this day there were data & sound cables piled up on one of the prime tables in the main room generating WTF looks from several patrons as they browsed the room for a table. Â There was no sound at all from the overhead speakers so they solved this problem by cranking up the volume on one small TV to a level that horrified the couple sitting next to it. Â Again...more WTF looks were exchanged. Â On top of this there was a room full of what appeared to be senior citizens and children watching...gasp...WOMENS BASKETBALL!!!!! Â Are you f'ing kidding me?!?! Â I'm sorry, I don't hate seniors (cannot say the same for women's BB) but I do not want to frequent a bar that caters to this type of crowd while I scream obscenities at the TV on what is one of the biggest weekends in the NFL. Â It appeared to us that the woman's BB game was much more of a priority than dealing with the NFL game that everyone else was there to watch. Â Yes...you heard me correctly...women's BB competing with the greatest sport of all time. Â Fucking ridiculous...and sad. Â Â
Others have complained about service here, but I cannot say that we have ever had much of a time getting beers.  Regardless, for this group of beer and sports lovers Brewskis is out of the rotation.  I'm sure they will survive without our modest tab we accumulate when we visit, but if you keep pissing off  groups of middle aged sports fans who are willing to spend $$$ and don't want to put up with BS you will eventually be reduced to dealing with dumbass kids who don't know any better.  This is the kind of place that makes me want to quit my job and go into the sports bar business.  Yogis, Gallo's and even BW3 are kicking this shit out of this place in all the categories that count.  What a shame.
I would like to like this place but honestly I was very disappointed. Here's my list of complaints: 1. We had to flag someone down to get them to take our order after waiting 15 minutes. 2. We ordered a large taco pizza with jalapeños on half. What we got: a large pepperoni pizza with jalapeños on half. 3. We got there around 7:30 on a Saturday so we could eat dinner and then watch this live band but around 8 when the basketball game was over and the band was about to go on they kicked anyone and everyone out of their seats because ALL the tables were reserved/paid for ahead of time. This employee who looks like Morticia Addams said to us "You don't have to leave but you have to move." There were literally NO tables that weren't reserved in the whole bar! At this point we still hadn't gotten our pizza so we had no where to sit accept a bench against the wall so we told them to make our pizza to go. 4. The next day my mom's boyfriend who paid for the large taco pizza and a bucket of beer (6 bottles) looked at his bank account and they charged him $118! That's NOT what the receipt they gave us said either because I looked at it and it was $37 and some change.
Good things I can say: 1. The band The Navigators were awesome and they always have a cover charge that goes directly to charity (always a diff charity).
2. Our nice waitress, who was so over-worked it was sad, MADE a space for us to sit and eat by pulling a table over to the previously mentioned bench.
3. They have a nice dance space.
Terrible service, food was wrong, bill was wrong. Â Bartender snapped at me after I mentioned by food was wrong (I am allergic to something they left on). Â Literally sat there for over an hour without anyone asking how we were doing or if we needed anything. Â Wait staff even left the bar/floor for about 15 minutes. Â I don't think I have ever had such poor service. Â No idea how they stay in business.
Review Source:Visit No. 1 to Brewsky's Sports Bar was prompted by a Facebook invite from Ashley (former Dub Pub bartender; lovely and vivacious). Â So I drop in under the title of "Business After Hours" with plans for a cup of adult spirits.
Brewsky's is impressive. Â I had no friggin' idea of the bar's interior size and its variety of HDTVs, recreation and seating. Â Oh Yeah!!! This has football, college and NFL, written all over it. I sat at the bar and enjoyed Round 2 of THE OPEN Championship, deciding that food was needed. Â The order was Chicken Strips. Â I LOVE BASKETS! Â The strips arrived in a basket resting atop a sea of french fries. Â I recall having five large chicken strips and more fries than a human should be allowed to consume. Â So sharing (at least fries) is RECOMMENDED. Â Both chicken and fries were hot, Hot, HOT. Â I got mine with medium wing sauce and honey bbq dipping cups on the side.
Parking is questionable. Â The lot is small so I'm not sure if patrons use the STAPLES store lot across the street after 9PM. Â I do know I've driven on Kenny Road post-9PM and seen people jogging 'cross the road to get to Brewsky's.... so that may be the answer. Â Just dunno.
I know, my visit was brief and it was a bar almost devoid of patrons when I was there. Â But I know a hootin' and hollerin' place when I see it and Brewsky's Sports Bar has got to be a super place for football games and other sports HDTV specials.
Loved it!
I am torn between a 2 and a 3... So I'm going to go with a 2 and a half.. I'm basing my on 2 things a then a small factor.
We will do good news first. This place is awesome to watch games. Plenty of big screen TVs and lots of tables!
Bad news the food is no better then a 1.5... I got a BBQ chicken wrap that was drenched in BBQ sauce with hardly any chicken. All you could taste was BBQ sauce. My husband got a "king" Reuben sandwich that was the cheapest looking sandwich Ive ever seen. Ive seen better through the Arbys drive thru. It was so flat it looked like a grilled cheese. On a good note, the sweet potato fries were good but you hardly got any.
Now, the small factor is the parking. The lot is super small, we had to park in a dentist office behind the bar and hope we didn't get a ticket and the bar wasn't even packed.
Overall Id come here again to watch a game and have a few drinks but def wouldn't get any food, and Id go early to be sure i got a spot.
I know this place probably does good business but I hate this place. Â I was there last night. Â Took me 12 minutes to get my beer. Â There were only like 5 people at the bar. Â Anytime I come here I can be sure to hear the shittiest music possible. Â This place is cool for the bro crowd that digs Dave Mathews and Lil Wayne. Â They probably haven't been exposed to much more music beyond that. Â This is where you go to hang with the dumbest white kids columbus has to offer. Â Average spots like these make me ashamed to be from such a shit town like columbus. Â Hicks.
Review Source:Disclaimer: I've only been to Brewsky's on Thursday nights after Kickball. That said, once Football starts up, I plan on coming here more often!
Maybe I am still recovering from my 9 year long Midwestern Sports Bar withdrawal, but after my first time at Brewsky's, I loved it.
Here is why:
1. Friendly, non-pretentious bartender and waitstaff. Â And helpful too, even after getting us our 15th pitcher of beer, more cups for flip cup, and even allowing us to play flip cup. Â The bartender dude even made me up bag of ice for my pulled quad muscle (who said kickball wasn't a real sport).
2. Cheap beer. In general, not comparing them to LA standards, they have great monthly beer specials, and then also other specials for the kickball crowd after games.
3. Food. Yeah, its bar food, but its decent. Â You shouldn't go here on a diet, but then you shouldn't be drinking pitchers of beer either. Â The pizza is decent (a little greasy for me), as is their burgers. Â Personally, I can't get enough of those little darn pretzel bites or the sweet potato fries. Â
I'm giving 4 stars, Â because the music can get a little loud (sometimes), and the parking lot fills pretty quickly. Â That said, you can park across the street in in the Staples lot...
Hopefully I have the same positive experiences come football season!
I was completely surprised by the awesomeness of this place. I stumbled in here fall-down drunk last weekend, and wasn't expecting much. My prior experience at this location was the former Pockets pool hall and I hated that place with a passion. However, Brewsky's has exorcised the suck-demons of Pockets and resurrected as a kick-ass sports bar.
This place has everything you need - hot bartenders, cheap/strong drinks, a disgustingly fantastic jukebox (that both takes credit cards and is cranked up to eardrum-busting levels, the way it should be), plenty of seating, lots of big-screen TVs, and a huge patio.
There is no reason why you shouldn't be there right now, drinking yourself into a stupor. Get up and go now!
Not bad, not bad at all. Â I rather wish they'd have kept the volume on the TV instead of the Jukebox blasting Rihanna, but overall the patio was nice and the feel comfortable and laid back.
I wouldn't eat here - but then again I'd not eat at any such establishment so I can't hold that against them.
I never expect awesome food at a bar, but they have some decent pizza and your usual deep fried goodies. Meatball sub tastes alright, but I could almost swear it was previously frozen. If not, then definitely not fresh. Then again, its bar food right.!
I love coming here because their beer prices are good, and flat screens in every corner. If an Ohio team isn't playing, staff is minimal. I've never gone on friday or saturday night cause I'd like to avoid crowds if I can. Overall, place is clean, modern, and worth having a few beers at.
I cannot wait to watch football at this place!!
Huge projector screens.
Plenty of space.
A dance floor, yes a dance floor!
Three bars.
A spacious, open patio (with a bar).
Reasonable drink prices.
Yummy, cheesy pizza.
Two pool tables.
A really hard-to-miss, flashy neon sign.
My kind of sports bar.
Last year my friends had me meet them at their new hangout near where they live, I had been avoiding meeting them there but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived.
The bar has great set-up with booths, tables, pool tables a few games and TVs everywhere. From the outside I never imagined the place would be so big. The prices are cheap with great bucket and happy hour specials. The bar food is perfect, I remember a conversation I had with out "waiter" it went something like this:
Me: "Is the zucchini fried?"
Waiter: "Yes"
Me: 'The creamed corn too?"
Waiter: "Actually everything on there is deep fried"
Me: "Excellent"
I had never had heard of deep fried corn and can never find fried zucchini, both were wonderful.
This is another really good place to watch sports, between the drink specials, TVs everywhere and GREAT bar staff it makes for a very enjoyable experience. Seriously I was surprised how nice everyone was, it almost had a cheers feel to it. Also if there is another game you want to watch, they will gladly change one of their TVs so you can watch it. (Even if an OSU game is on)
I will definitely be going back to this sports bar.
