As far as dives go, this one is close to the deep end.   There are certain things you look for in a dive bar that make you want to go.  1) a great bartender that will put up with your BS  2) cheap drinks that will make you forget your week  and 3) cool people to commiserate with

Well, we were lucky enough to get plenty of 3... but severely lacking on the 1 and 2.  Maybe a team of 5 young hip brash people walking into this bar was a system shock, but no need to be scared.  

Also, I was paying for a short drink, what I normally pay for a tall drink at my neighborhood bars.  If this is your walking bar, i'm sure it's fine.  otherwise don't come looking for this joint.

I was not impressed by this place at all!  Yes, it is a dive bar and there are certain things that are a given in a dive bar- Dark, old furniture, and a locals-only feel.  On the other hand, I love dive bars for their casual feel and friendly bartenders.

BB did not have a friendly bartender.  She was not chatty and seemed to only tolerate our business.  My tall diet and vodka was small and not very strong, though honestly the price was darn good- $3.75

On the other hand, the older couple we sat next to seemed to welcome the entertainment that 5 partly inebriated people offered.  We had a good time chatting with them.

I saw other people with popcorn, but was not offered any.  It didn't appear that they had any other food options.

With all the great dives that the West Side offers, I don't think I will return to this one.

Nice little dive bar that has a good sized parking lot and lots of room inside. The bar area is rather large and the 5 TV's will provide some entertainment if need be. When I was there Jeopardy was on a few of the TV's which is actually a show I would watch. The people at the bar did look at us like we had 3 heads, but quickly warmed up to us and chatted  about of all things, the first street used to demarcate Eastsiders and Westiders. (Main St, btw. 71 and other highways weren't always around)

I had a Jack and diet and it was a strong pour. The price was nice as well. They have a Jag chiller for you crazy people that shoot that stuff. The bathroom was in fine shape. I recall seeing a dart board for people to play. I don't remember the cost. I think they have a popcorn machine, something I really love and can never eat enough.

I could easily become a regular at a place like this, it's not too fancy and the people are down to earth and the bartender was friendly, but not fake friendly like a lot of bartenders.
