Stephens Old Village Restaurant

My pancake came out hot. I've tried and I've tried to find a place that serves pancakes hot. Think about it. Not many do. And next time you sit down to a short or tall stack, take note. Is it a hot stack? Does the butter melt? And then the syrup came, and it was warm.

Goetta, a couple eggs, home fries and coffee all served by Westwood's version of Alice and Flo. Mel was slingin' it in the back. Gonna be a good day!

A small old neighborhood restaurant. Waitress was friendly. There's allot to choose from the menu, from standard breakfast items to dinners like meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Prices are decent as well.

The food was just ok. Not too flavorful, but neither bland. I assume that this place is frequented by elderly couples. There was no one our age there while we were eating.

It's not a place we would go out of our way to visit again.

What's not to love about a small town feeling, greasy spoon type, short order cooked meal?
I have only eaten breakfast at Stephens and it is always excellent.  The home fries are so good and large enough to share.  You can get a pancake instead of toast.  Do it---it's as big as a dinner plate and very tasty.
I had the goetta and cheddar cheese omelet and my husband had the sunrise.  His breakfast was 2 eggs any way, choice of meat, home fries and the choice of toast or pancake.  My ginormous omelet came with the toast or pancake choice.  You even get a shaker of powdered sugar with the pancake.  Love.
The coffee is very good and my cup was never empty.
You won't be disappointed in breakfast at this little spot in Cheviot.
