Another great Cheviot Bar- Total dive, friendly crowd, cheap drinks.
With a name like Skin's, you expect a biker bar but its more of a small locals-only mixed age dive. Â No fancy decor here, just a clean, casual joint. Â Bathrooms are small and showing some age, but are clean. Â
Heather seems to be their standard bartender on the weekends. Â She is incredibly friendly to everyone, even customers that aren't her regulars. Â She is always willing to make specialty drinks... My friend ordered a Bloody Mary on Friday night and this totally isn't a Bloody Mary kind of place. Â Heather made it from scratch without complaint and it was great.
Looking for a cool casual place to just kick back, this is a good place to try.
Skin's Place is a place that I thought was only urban legend, until it wasn't.
Last Friday I went on an epic quest to what seemed like a far away country. This country being the infamous "westside." to be frank I really did enjoy myself, but it was a totally different set of rules at this place.
First off you walk in and immediately you see Coors Light and Bud Light neon signs glowing like a 90's blacklight room. Then you make your way to the bar to one of the most hilarious bartenders I've ever met in my life. This lady pulled me behind the bar because we ordered a mix drink and she had to get it out of her "card catalog." The drink I am referring to is called a Louisiana Leg Spreader BY THE WAY. So I am reading her the recipe from behind the bar, and I have to admit I felt kinda cool amidst the local's cheering me on.
The drinks are cheap, the bathroom's gross, and the patio's great for a big 'ol bucket a beer but that's pretty much all I can say for this place. If you are ever in the far away place stop by and check out Skins Place. It's pretty solid.
After driving by this place mostly at night and assuming it was some kind of biker bar, I was glad to find it (at least in the daytime), a typical local sports bar filled with good down-to-earth people. I stopped by during St. Patrick's Day late morning and was surrounded by happy people drinking beers and the occasional more potent drinks. There is a pool table and darts for recreation and a jukebox for blasting your favorite songs. There are a few TV's where you can watch the game as well.
There is a back patio area that I assume is used primarily for smokers and those just wanting some fresh air. There is enough room for cornhole, but the boards were stashed away while I was there.
I didn't notice any smell like Audrey mentioned...
Small, clean bar with cheap drinks and friendly people.
