I have to admit I was pretty buzzed by the time I got here - but OH MY GOD, their nachos are amazing. I used to hate nachos because I always thought it was just stale, greasy tortilla chips slathered in a processed cheese sauce. BroJim's nachos are easily the best I've ever had though - it's a huge platter (definitely meant to be shared) of chips, BBQ beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa, guac, pulled pork, smoked brisket, and grilled chicken.
So, why only 3 stars? Because BroJim's is a BBQ restaurant... not a nacho restaurant. C'mon now.
Decided to try Brother Jimmy's last night and had a straight up horrible experience. Can't blame the whole resturant but the bartender was super rude and was by far the worst service I ever had. To be fair, it was "busy," but not Rutgers Friday Night busy. Â They don't have an ID scanner or a blacklight so its up to the bartender to decide if your ID is real or not. I have a REAL ID, and i'm 22 but apparently it felt "too bendy" and was denied, and was only allowed to order after a second oppinion from a clearly more competent bartender. Drink was overpriced and watered down. Change was thrown back in my direction. On top of that the bartender made it a point to be extra bitchy to my group of friends (and half of us work as waitors and waitresses so we always make it a point to be nice) and tried to kick us out for simply stating that she was being rude. In the end, I would never go back there purely based on that experience.
Review Source:Where do I start? How about with the service, which was attentive, professional and just amazing. Our server patiently answered our questions and her recommendations were spot on. Now for the food--abundant portions, well-seasoned meat, and delivered at the right temperature. The ribs were meaty and tasty, and the brisket was the best I have ever had -- no sauce was needed. The side dishes were a little small, but were still tasty. The dessert was scrumptious as well and large enough to share. As a plus, there is a public parking garage right next door and they offered a $2.00 credit on the bill which was a plus. The bill wasn't cheap for 2 people, but the value was certainly worth it. I would definitely go back.
