If you just want to get drunk with your girlfriends, and dance to music worst than the stuff you hear on the radio, This is the place for you :) The DJ needs to update his Mash ups.
jokes a side, Here is my honest review of Perle lounge "Ultra Life Fridays".
Pro: the venue is VERY nice.
major con 1:
Addressing contact/manager? Leanne Gassaro, this lounge in a polite term is, a joke. Both men and women were way underdressed arriving as if they just got out of bed.
On the website Dress code says, "Night Club Chic Upscale Attire a Must" Only a small handful actually followed the dress code. Leanne Gassaro, your bouncers are not doing their job, they are just letting anyone in. Men walking into the club wearing sneakers, biker shorts, and timberland boots is not chic or upscale, even women aren't exempt from this complaint. Â
The drinks were rather high for what the lounge is currently worth. If the issues were resolved then I can see paying whatever price for a Bellini flute, etc. There aren't too many decent clubs/lounges in NJ. Especially in central NJ area. I would of given Perle a higher rating if guest weren't walking into the club looking horribly tacky. Basically an insult to your business! Â
Con 2: The DJ music was sooooo loud in the main room it drowned out the other DJs music in the smaller room. I couldn't even talk, not even centimeter from ones ear!! I've been to lounges before and there is a reasonable noise level. The DJ music was old it wasn't even top 40 of this year. The purpose of having a DJ is to encourage people to go on the dance floor, not leave it!
Maybe I'd go here again if the manager decided to listen to the people, and not be naïve! Rating would be more respectable, too! there's a reason you're not getting 5 stars.
What can I say about Perle... Haha... First of all... I live in DC and go out clubbing often. I was in New Jersey visiting a friend and we decided to give this club a try. We sat down at 10:40... The club was EMPTY but my friend and I were sitting at the end of the bar and were not served immediately. Ok...: 10 minutes later ... We see the bartenders huddled up together obviously laughing at something they had in common ... But I still found myself without a drink in front of me . 5 minutes later ... FINALLY got a server ... Thank god :... $25 minimum for a credit card  ..., it sucks but my friend and I dealt with it. We had two drinks each and then decided to have another to split ... Plus two shots. We asked for a glass of water at the bar and after getting the bartenders attention we got our water. Fast forward an hour and a half later . My friend and i are dancing and felt dehydrated so we went to the bar... To the same bartender - to ask for another glass of water . Now, water costs $4 a bottle ..  And you can't order a cup . What?! So I took the time to find the receipt for the bar tab that we had closed not so long before , and presented it to the bartender. A cup of water? No. $4 for a bottle. Seriously ?! They said it was company policy . I told them I received two glasses of water for free an hour and a half ago... So... Clearly not the policy . I understand the "policy" of some businesses ... I work in customer service and yes i do refer to the company policy when needed. The difference is- i know how talk to a customer. Even if the bartenders were following policy and there was nothing they could do , don't they have the decency to speak with manners to a paying customer ? They were very rude and inconsiderate. It's not like this is a night club in the heart of NYC ... They aren't prestigious enough to be able to charge those prices and im sure they are not successful enough to afford losing customers like this. After someone spends $60 at your bar, if you can't spare even 4 ounces of tap water, there is a problem . Even if it is against company policy ... If someone is upset enough to argue about a cup of water... service recovery would still call for some kind of action. Like I said ..., other night clubs care about their customers and don't treat them like this. As another review of Perle said, it in the club's best interest to keep people hydrated when serving alcohol. Sorry, Perle , you're not a DC or NYC club ... And sadly you never will be treated as such with this service. It doesn't take a genius to know that a club who would rather dehydrate their customer and get risk getting them kicked out of the club due to drunken-ness from a lack of water (partially, at least) than actually spare a cup from their precious tap is a sorry, sorry business. Don't give out free water one minute and decide its against the policy the next . Make up your mind and don't make excuses because costumers can see right though it. The club was nice but not nearly nice enough to make up for the lack of service. There are plenty of other bars in walking distance who sell cheaper drinks and actually give a shit about your overall well being whilst dehydrated. Never going back ... And I hope a manager reads this. There is a reason some people bartend and don't do anything further with their life ... And this is a perfect example of why.
Review Source:mehhhhhhh. i stayed sober so that likely made a difference in my experience here. i had all of my faculties while i watched awkward encounters happen over and over again. one good thing is that the crowd was very diverse, ethnically. i consider that a good thing. the bartenders began watering down some drinks around midnight according to my friends, i can't confirm that but all 3 agreed so it was probably true.
