I am so happy Brothers Grill is close by! They have great service and the food is delicious (I especially love the cheeseburgers). The service is always fantastic and so I thought after being there sooo many times (haha) it was about time I wrote a review on how awesome this place is. I totes recommend it!
Review Source:With Mic Duck's and Pizza Slut just down the street by Kimball, you wouldn't think we'd need another fast food joint on Belmont. But this place is better. I've been here a few times and will be going back; the place is clean and well restored, the service is super genial, and the food is near the top of the heap for its humble category. That's not to say this is Kuma's corner, but the burger looks handsome enough to fall in line with the likes of the old Underdog in Wicker Park, minus the cigarette-smoking hot dog mascot. Gyros are real good too, and the breakfast food (especially the pancakes) gets the job done. No surprises.
I use this place like I use a diner. Good place to eat alone and read, in some ways better because there's a row of seating facing out the window on Belmont. And yet, it's cozy enough that people will chat with each other, all the way from the east side of the room to the west side of the room (which is really only about 15 feet across).
I also use this place for comedic value. The plasticware is f'n hilarious (though I'm sure they'll eventually get this right). Imagine trying to cut through pita bread with a rubber knife. It might have been easier to cut the knife with the pita bread. After much failure, I found some luck by holding the knife with both hands and sawing across, like a miniaturized two-man crosscut saw. Best to practice before you go, and you'll find that as with most other restaurants, pre-cooked inanimate food is no match for a man of the human species.
