3.5 stars. I haven't really been to a BWW before honestly but I was catching up with a friend so we figured it'd be an easy place to split food. The food was actually a bit better than I expected, though the flavors and seasonings were all really strong. Not the place to go if you're on a diet or gotta watch your sodium intake, that much is for sure.
We ordered drums but were brought a variety, and our waiter took the wings back to fix the order and also brought us some extra carrots, celery and ranch as a bit of a consolation prize for the order getting messed up. All around a very good service experience at what I figured would be an unlikely place for good service.
This Buffalo Wild Wings was empty on a Wednesday night. Â It's not my local restaurant but I was out with friends so we decided to go there. Â The service was mediocre, the food quality was iffy and overall it just wasn't a good experience. Â Was glad to get out of there. Â I'll definitely be returning to my local restaurant because it's always hopping and the food is always bomb!
Review Source:Enjoy going here for the wings and the sports atmosphere, but the service is consistently awful. Â It is mostly the wait time in getting any service from seating, ordering, to getting the meal, to waiting forever for the check. Â It is almost always a guarantee that they will mess up the order. Â I keep returning to see if they will get it right one day. Â And I wonder what they are thinking changing their Wednesday night Wing Special to Tuesdays and Thursdays when neighboring competition hosts Taco Tuesdays??
Review Source:My Husband and I usually like bww but this location was terrible. We had terrible customer service. Took our waitress forever to wait on us. When we finally got our food my husbands was cold and mine was not what I ordered. We let the waitress know we weren't happy. They need training on customer service and how to improve the food. We won't be going to this location ever again.
Review Source:My fiance and I entered the restaurant and the host(what ever the male version of a hostess is called) told us that he would wipe down a table and then seat us. He proceeded to faff about until he finally grabbed a rag and cleaned our table and sat us after about 10 minutes of waiting. The rag must have been covered in BBQ sauce because the entire table was so sticky, my fiance and I had  to clean the table ourselves with 5 of the tables wet naps that are conveniently supplied, or else our skin/cloths would stick to the disgustingly dirty table.
After about another 25 minutes, our so called waiter Max finally acknowledged our existence. He walked over to our table said "Hey, (long pause) uhhhh I'm Max.. Yeah...(long pause)". After about 10 seconds of awkward silence and me staring in disbelief that this was the introduction this guy was giving us, my finance finally said "ill start with a coke" and I asked for some suggestions as far as the beers they have on tap. Max's only response was "Well, we have 31 beers on tap". I gave up and ordered a Miller boring Lite. My fiance's drink came a few minutes later and my beer came from another waiter 15 minutes later.
We sat next to a group of highschoolers who only ordered water and 2 cokes between 7 of them. They made inappropriate comments to their waitress the entire time, spilled their water and made more noise than the 50 TV's that are in there (which is impressive). These kids should have been removed far before we ever entered the building...
The food was good, as expected and came out promptly, but if I could give this place a 0/5 I would for the poor, pathetic service, and the lack of effort by the staff and the amazingly awkwardness of our future aspiring un-employed waiter.
IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A 0/5, I WOULD.
Went in a little late for dinner, was seated in the empty dining area by a host, who came by about 5 minutes later to tell us that the dining area is actually closed. Â Okay, no problem, they directed us to the bar area, where we were told that it was open seating so we could just seat ourselves. Â It was pretty full but we saw a couple empty tables, so just seated ourselves on one of the open tables.
That was basically the end of our service.
We sat there for 45 MINUTES with NO SERVICE. Â Trust me, I kept an eye on the clock. Â It was pretty busy and the servers seemed busy so we were very patient. Â Waited about 15-20 minutes before trying to flag any server down for some service, in which ALL ATTEMPTS WERE IGNORED. Â After over 30 minutes of waiting around, we were still trying to flag someone down, in which then we got an attitude from one of the servers. Â She pointed a finger at us and, with a really big attitude, said "HOLD ON!"
I have worked in a restaurant for years, and this was just completely unacceptable. Â I would never come back here, even if they paid for my entire meal. Â No thank you. Â By far, the WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN.
Also wanted to point out that during the 45 minutes we were there, another table sat down at another open table (about 15 minutes after us) and received service. Â WHAT THE EFF.
It's been a couple years now since my visit and I will still never return.
BWW is a great chain though, just not in Aliso Viejo.
I always excuse the horrible service because I go at night during the weekend, and they get pretty busy.
This time I went on a weekday during lunch and there were only 5 tables occupied, hardly any customers were in the restaurant. The service I got that day was actually the worst I have ever received at a Buffalo Wild Wings.
It actually took them 15 minutes to ASK for my check, I saw my server give the bill to a table nearby and didn't see her again for another 10 minutes. I regret giving her a tip at all. Not to mention that there were a few other servers hanging around the bar or walking around for no apparent reason. A+ customer service.
First time here (this location). I belly up to the bar and order a Bourbon on the rocks. The bartender didn't know what bourbon was, so I had to explain it to her. Afterwards, I ordered more specifically, a Jim Beam on the rocks. Once the drink was received, I kind of chuckled to myself. My girlfriend asked if it was bourbon, because she knows what color it should be in a glass over ice. I basically got 1/2 a shot over 15 ice cubes. After a quick glance at the menu, we quickly realized that BWW has become dilerious in that they feel 18 pieces of chicken warrant $18. We both get up and leave, they can keep their ice water bourbon and over-priced chicken.
So sad, I use to love this place 10 years ago or so.
This is not usually the type of place I enjoy. Â In fact, it has all the elements of things that I don't enjoy: salty bar food, TVs, sports. Â Lots of people watching sports on TVs while eating salty bar food.
But it isn't so bad. Â We had a great experience here (group of 9) on the patio. Â The staff were good natured with our rowdy group and they have a better beer selection than crappy Stadium Brewery across the way. Â Happy Hour only goes until 6pm, which sucks. Â It's half off appetizers and $1 off beers. Â It's salty bar food. Â It's beer. Â It's a patio. Â There's a LOT of sports and TV's. Â It is what it is.
Ate here last night. It took 45 minutes for the food and the order was screwed up. The waitress was a twerp with a bad attitude and the manager was totally unprofessional. After screwing up my sandwich, it took another 25 minutes to get it back. Then the waitress says "oh I'll take it off the bill" after 45 minutes. Lol, I said, really! That's great, wow. Â The manager was standing there and never said a word.
Review Source:The worst service I've had in a place for a very long time. Â The four of us come in before a movie, they weren't particularly busy. Â We asked the hostess for a booth. Â All booths were occupied but we're told people were leaving and we could have the next one. Â No problem. Â We stand at the hostess station and wait. Â A few more folks come in and are seated. Â The folks in the booth leave, the hostess then proceeds to sit another group at the booth - despite the fact that we are literally standing there in front of her and have been for several minutes. Â When we brought that to her attention, she giggles and said, "oh gosh, I'm always forgetting stuff!" Â Ok, the hostess is an idiot, but not a tragedy. Â We're trying to make a movie, so we just take the next table. Â
Waitress comes over, she's very put upon when we order drinks, heavy sighs all around.  She brings the drinks and slams them on the table.  My brother asks her if she is OK as she's clearly very angry.  The waitress starts to unload on us that she'd asked the boss for the night off, but she had to work and she didn't want to be there and it wasn't fair that other people got the night off.... this rant goes on.  Then she disappears for about  10 minutes, I'm sure updating her twitter feed and facebook with the utter unfairness that is her life.  She come back, takes our order.  She's pissy that we had questions, more sighs and attitude. Â
The food arrives in little cardboard boxes. Â My friend asks for a plate to put the bones on. Â The food delivery guy says in a snarky, you're an idiot tone, that there is second cardboard container stacked under the first and she can just use that. Â My bother says, she just asked for plate, there's no reason to be rude. Â The server storms off, comes back with a plate and literally drops it on the table, turns around and leaves.
Wings were good, but certainly not special enough to make it worth the crappy service and attitude from all three people we interacted with -- especially when we could have the same or better food at Stadium Brewery across the plaza -- only minus the attitude. Â Â Management obviously does no customer service training and clearly is just skating by the fact that proximity to the theater will feed them a steady diet of suckers. Â Therefore, there is no reason whatsoever to patronize this place.
WORSE SERVICE EVER!! Terrible service indoors and outdoors. Every time I came to visit this place, we had to flag someone down to give us service. Servers always pass us and even the manager sometimes doesn't do anything. WTF!!
The last time trying to dine at this location, we ordered the blazing and most of us drank all of our water, our server didn't refill our drinks at all or didn't even acknowledge that our cups were empty. We had to ask for more water. LAZY WORKERS WHO AREN'T SHARP! I use to work in the restaurant industry and the service here is worse than any Asian place possible. Think of any worse service scenario and this place will have it.
NO MATTER WHERE YOU SIT IN THIS LOCATION, SERVICE SUCKS AND IT LITERALLY TAKES 20-30 MINUTES BEFORE SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGES YOU ANY SERVICE. I'VE TIMED IT!!
ORDER TO-GO! This service NEVER FAILS!!
The food tastes the same as other locations, best crunchy fries though.
If I want wings and good service, I make the drive to Lake Forest.
I will preface this by stating that I love Buffalo Wild Wings. Â Having been to numerous locations, I look forward to eating here. Â This location is close to my office and I have been here numerous times. Â With that being said, the service here is unacceptable. Â A while back, I took my family here and was so frustrated I vowed to never go again. Â Well, I love the wings. Â I stayed away for a while and returned. Â During lunchtime last week, I sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to come to my table. Â I ordered a Diet Coke and the boneless wings lunch. Â She brought out a regular coke. Â I asked her about it and she said it was diet. Â After watching the guy at the table next to me get frustrated because he waited an hour for his non-existent order to arrive, I started questioning my order. Â The food runner tried to deliver me the wrong table's food. Â After this she came back and asked what I had ordered. Â The bartender never placed my order neither. Â I flagged down the manager and told her I was leaving. Â She was apologetic and tried to offer me something. Â I refused and left. Â As much as I love the food, I will not come back this time and will tell people to stay away. Â
-Management- Train your employees! Â If they can't get it right, step in earlier. Â An incompetent staff is a poor reflection on your abilities.
We were nearby for one of my kid's soccer game and decided we'd stop by here and pick up some wings to go. Â We get there and there was no one working up front. Â One guy who worked there did walk by and said hi to us saying he will get someone to help us. Â However, he never came back and 10 minutes later, we were still waiting to be helped. Â My wife peeked inside and saw that it wasn't crowded and that the servers were somewhere in the back dancing. Â That was enough for us...we left. Â
This place is seriously a good candidate for the Restaurant Impossible show. Â The sad thing was this was our first visit to this chain, which will probably affect us from visiting others based on the bad taste it left in our mouth. Â I guess we'll never know how the garlic wings, Asian Zing, and other wings here will ever taste like.
3 Stars!
The wings are definitely what makes this place good. Â The service on the other hand needs a lot of help. Â
I have frequented this place many times and ever time there is a problem with the waiter/waitress taking the order in a timely manner or getting the order right. Â Yesterday it was the 15 min wait that we had when we sat down to get our order in. Â We also had to ask to have our table cleaned and we literally watched the beers that we ordered, sit at the bar while the waitress that took our order walk right past them multiple times. Â It wasn't like the place was busy. Â We had to ask another waitress to grab the two beers that were waiting because the original waitress was either avoiding us or just plan lost at her job. Â The lady that gave us our beers then went on to state that one of the servers was on a break. Â Not a good statement to tell a paying customer. Â
After we received the food and beers we didn't order anything else and just asked for the bill. Â The overall amount of servers that came to our table that evening was about 4 people. Â Not sure if that is standard at BWW but it definitely seems like overkill. Â Â
Overall, I will continue to come to this Wings establishment. Â But I will not expect to have good service, just awesome wings and a delicious pint!
I seem to have had unusually good service here, have yet to be disappointed by it. On the three trips I've made here, my friends and I generally stick to the wings, which taste pretty good in my opinion. Asian Zing FTW. Mango Habanero is also another popular one among our group. I have yet to try any other wing places around, so I don't have anything to compare it to really. I come here for the convenience of it (5 min from my house). Check out Wing Tuesdays.
This place probably isn't for the die hard wing fan, but for someone who just eats them on occasion and likes to just hang out with a beer in hand around a lot of TV screens, then this place does exactly that.
This place has a have selection of beers!
This place is nothing more than a sports bar tho. All of their food in their menu is mostly unhealthy fried stuff. The atmosphere is perfect if you're interested in watching multiple games with friends because they have about 20 big screens I'm there.
1.5 stars rounded down to 1 star. I should have listened to the advice left by just about every Yelper leaving a review for Buffalo Wild Wings here in Aliso Viejo. The service here is HORRIBLE. I asked myself: How bad can it be? They went out of their way to show me how bad a service at a restaurant can be.
We walk in and instantly notice that every employee here looks very uninterested in doing their job. Sure, I know.... most of them are teens looking for some cash to buy the next Apple gadget, but damn you can tell they really don't want to be working there.
We get seated and the guy whom will eventually take our order takes his sweet time making it over to us to get our drinks. Even more time rolls by and we get our drinks and in order to avoid crazy wait again, we place our order immediately. The staff here seems to have no sense of urgency at all. We eventually get our wings, they are OK, little on the over done side if you ask me. Looking to get out fast, we pay the bill in cash just to avoid the round trip with charging the credit card and signing for the bill.
This place redefined horrible service in my book. Having been to other Buffalo Wild Wings, this place has got to be worst of the worst. If you read this, my only hope is this review deters you from coming here.
Of you like Chili's or TGIF's you'll love this this place.
So I did the Blazin Challenge and won!!
12 of the hottest wings they have in 6 minutes gets you a T-shirt along with a completely wrecked intestinal tract for two days. If you are going to try this challenge tell your server that you want to do it so the manager can come by with a timer. Your wings come out drenched in Blazin sauce, more than if you were to order them normally. When the guy says go it's game on! Note: I can handle very spicy food and consider Sriracha Sauce to be ketchup. This stuff creeps up on you.
BWW' "Blazin'" sauce weighs in at around 300,000 Scoville units, making it about 60 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper. The trick is to go as fast as you can for two reasons. First, the heat will continue to get hotter so the idea is to power through the first 6, the last 6 are the .2 part of the marathon. Second, you have to average one every 30 seconds so chewing needs to be fast. Don't worry about being clean but do wipe your face after 6 otherwise you'll burn it.
Don't plan of flying, driving, or being confined for the next two days if you know what's good for you.
Here is the down low on this location....
The food is outstanding! I am a huge fan of the Asian zing, desert heat rub and the secret not on the menu Captain Morgan wing. You have to have them bone in, boneless is for sissy's. Also the potato wedges are excellent.
The problem with this location is the service is horrible! I have had all the bad happen. Servers are just so ugh, untrained, immature and down right special (if you know what I mean)!
If I could just serve myself.. then I would go here everyday!
POSITIVES:
Wednesday night wing special = 60 cents per wing. Â
Good attentive service
Beer selection
good place to watch sports of all sorts
TVs in bathrooms (not sure if that really is a positive)
Negatives: Â
I've had way better wings from Costco. Â Their wings are small. Â I'd think that a place that emphasizes wings would serve meatier wings, but it's like any other wing place but with more sauce selections.
The boneless wings are pretty crunchy because they're deep fried; Â didn't really taste as much chicken as I did bread. Â
CONCLUSION:
If you're coming here to check out some sporting event and have a drink then it's a good place, but I wouldn't come here just to have dinner or lunch with my friends.
Service was good, but the food is over priced and the ambience is terrible. Â
We sat in the bar... and this was probably the brightest bar I've ever been in. Â The lighting makes you feel like you're in a hospital waiting room, or even an office building. Â It was bright... like the sun. Â
And then there was the music. Â I can only assume this restaurant doesn't know who their target audience is, or they're trying to please everyone. Â Transitioning from Chicago, to Heart, to Metallica just doesn't work. Â I actually assumed they were catering to my dad's crowd until Metallica came on, and then I didn't know what to think.
On to the food... the boneless wings were good (tried honey bbq and Asian zing sauces). Â But, they're pretty tiny for the price. Â Yes, I know they're wings... but, they really weren't much better than Chicken McNuggets. Â And I'm sure Chick-Fil-A would beat them hands down.
I also had a Big Jack Daddy Burger. Â It was good, but I realize now that I don't think there was any jack cheese on it. Â Could they really have left the cheese off? Â Maybe. Â If it was on there, it certainly didn't add anything to the burger... except calories, I guess. Â Anyway, this is a burger with pulled pork on top of the hamburger patty. Â *So* not worth it. Â The pulled pork wasn't substantial enough to do anything but serve as the honey bbq sauce. Â Still, the burger tasted good and I ate the whole thing.
All in all, I definitely won't make any effort to return to Buffalo Wild Wings. Â I suppose if a friend invites me out and says, "oh, we're going to Buffalo Wild Wings," I'll go... but, if I'm given a choice, I'll choose somewhere else.
I think it's important to point out that this place only opened a few weeks ago, so every review before this is from people visiting in the first few weeks of the business opening. Of course there will be kinks.
I have been there 3 times now (live close by), and give it a strong 4 or 4.5 stars for a chicken wing place.
The ambiance is young, fresh, fun...tons of TVs and they even had a fight on and they didn't charge a cover.
The trick with any new place is to find a few good servers/people there, and stick with them. We were lucky that we found those people right away. Behind the bar Brie and Lauren are awesome, and on the floor definitely ask for Kale or Kayla. All will take care of you, and they made our experiences 10x better.
As far as the food, I love the variety of wing flavors and they have a new Thai curry flavor that rocks! Not a fan of boneless wings, but if you like those, their flavors are really good (and can be very spicy). All good bar food, and the drink specials were reasonable. The beer is extra cold too.
The only bad thing I'll say is that I don't like how they charge for extras. They charged me 50 cents for about a tablespoon of extra ranch (when my group was spending over $100...c'mon). But I pointed this out, and a very cool manager - Robert - came and talked to me and took it off. The other time I had a small issue with the food, we told someone and they fixed it right away.
This place isn't perfect yet, but it's got a lot of potential...we need a place like this in Aliso, and it will be fine as it turns into the "locals" hang out. Give them a break as they work the kinks out.
I have never been happier to leave a restaurant...
I tried the BWW in Lake Forest and hated it. Â The food was bad, the carpet smelled, it was just awful. Â I swore I would never go back. Â
When this one opened in Aliso Viejo, I figured it had to have been an off night, so I gave this location a chance. Â Went there to watch a basketball game, right when I walked in I was regretting my decision. Â It is way too loud and there is way too much going on. Â I felt like I was going to have a seizure. Â The food was inedible! Â I ordered 8 boneless strips and could only eat 4.
On top of that, they had a beer special which was Miller Lite for $4.25?!?!?! Â WTF is that?
My friends and I had to leave at half time to go to On the Border. Â On the Border is by no means a good restaurant, but it felt like heaven to be in a normal environment with cheap drinks.
Please come back to us Wingnuts! Â Your food was delicious.
Oh yeah, and why would you cover up nice cement floors with cheap carpet. Â Buffalo WIld Wings....You suck!
Ah ha! Finally, my first review as a first review...well it should come as no surprise that as a long time Wingnuts fan that Buffalo Wild Wing's opening night was not a night I was gonna miss! For those of you who like something new and who like electronics you will LOVE this place. Close to 40 flatscreen TV's....hmmmm, prolly more.... two new wings flavors that I have to say were pretty damn good, a decent selection of draft beer, and pretty ladies ;) My only concern was the limited spacing inside. Compared to the Lake Forest BWW the spacing is quite small but then again so was Wingnuts when it was here. Not the biggest deal in the world but hey it's worth noting.
I'm a fan and will definitely go back. This will be the new spot in Aliso Viejo if they get a little more competitive with their pricing. There are better Happy Hours in the area and if BWW expect to win that share of the business they will have to adjust accordingly. But then again, long hours is what may ultimately lead to the ultimate success of this location.
