Well I've been reading all the reviews at this location and I'm suprised about some of the feedback.. my time there was well spent . I was able to relax watch 96 different tvs and enjoy a very good meal. There are some kinks that need to be worked at exspecially with some of the servers . Side conversations about other employees is a no no exspecially if your doin it by a customer . I remember a few of the staff that was very helpfull and kind . Cameil is very nice she was very polite and has a nice smile simon is also very nice she helped me and my family to our seat and help me set my kids up for food with crayons and paper to waste time till our food came back . She came back from time to time to check on us very good service .. I wish I was able to give them a tip for being polite and very helpful. My family and I time there was very good we plan on goin back soon for more wings and fudge cake my kids couldnt get enough .... THANK YOU BUFFALO WINGS FOR EXELLENT SERVICE AND GREAT FOOD
Review Source:I heart wings like no one's biz and I was ecstatic to find that there was a BWW opening up in the FH area! Hubsta and i knew the line would be ridic for a weekend so we opted for take out.
We ordered 5 snack size traditional of the Naked wings with bbQ sauce and another order of 5 with the lemon pepper rub. Each came with choice of celery or carrot sticks and choice of bleu cheese or ranch dressing. Lisa (the girl that took my order) was extremely patient in answering my Qs and at the end told me the total would be $12.38. She said she'd send up order to kitchen n shd be ready by the time i went for pick up...maybe 30 min.
Woah, 30 min for 10 wings? Fine, whatevs. We found parking, walked around DR next door and checked in about 20 min later. Luckily it was ready but i had to wait another 5 min b/c apparently i have to wait for the person who took my order to check it before i go and she was nowhere to be found. Fortunately for me it was a small order so the girl there opened the boxes (she didn't want my wings to get cold), checked it and i paid and left.
I was excited to try them and the naked ones with bbq were less than average. I dont like saucy wings so i usually opt for the drier ones with minimal sauce. The lemon pepper ones, however, had nice flavoring and was tasty on it's own w/o having to dip any of the sauces. Would definitely go back for a hot batch and check out what the upstairs is about. The girl at the register told me there were 96 tvs, ski ball machines, a full bar, a lounge area and is kid friendly too.
Pricewise, it wasn't really worth it but still would love to go back and try the other dry rub flavors :)
I'm just going to flat out say this. Â I love wings. Â And I've always wanted to go to BWW but never wanted to drive to long island. Â So I was thrilled they finally opened one in my neighborhood.
So they have been open a week and I've been there 3 times already. Â I know crazy. Â I went with 3 different groups of people and I was very happy each time. Â I've tried already the Thai Curry sauce (was my least favorite), Buffalo Hot, Asian Zing (really good) and the Blazin' (their hottest sauce on the menu!). Â I've had traditional and boneless wings and each time was great. Â Always came out hot (not spicy hot but the cooked hot) so you know it was fresh. Â 30 beers on draft and I think in the last week I've tried maybe 5 of them. Â
2 Ski ball machines! Found that out the second night. Â Nothing like playing against a friend where the loser buys you a beer.
Only thing I'd say they need to work on is communication with the staff. Â Each server I've had at my table were all extremely nice and even had some fun with us. Â But since this is on the second floor, the first floor is where you kind of check in so to speak. Â I know they are new to the area and it's possible some of them this is their first time working in this environment so there is a learning curve here. Â
I intend to go back again for sure and hopefully within their first month of being open any kinks they need to fix should be taken care of.
Stopped by on a Friday night around 730 with my hubby and there was already a lot of people waiting. Luckily, the wait wasn't as long as it seemed and we were called to be seated within 20 minutes. We proceeded up the escalators only to wait another 5 minutes while other people got seated and it was clear they forgot about us. It wasn't until I checked in with the hostesses again that they then sat us .. Granted that this is a new joint and just opened for a week but if you see people waiting next to you, it's common sense to check in with them before seating other people that arrived later.
On to the dinner portion, we ordered a large with four different flavors - 2 dry rubs and 2 sauces (desert heat, salt & vinegar, Parmesan garlic, Thai curry). The wings were crispy, not too meaty and my faves were the desert heat and the Parmesan garlic. It wasn't anything crazy special but fulfilled the craving just fine. We also ordered the jalapeño poppers and the buffalo chips which were basically cheese fries.
The service was just fine and our waitress was friendly. The restaurant itself has a ton of big screens with lots of sports games on. By the time we were done, there was a long line out the door of the restaurant - one would think this is a hot night club but not nearly close.
In summary - ok wings and a cool spot to just chill for some small bites and drinks.
Went on one of their first nights- Wings were ok- not anything special. Â Beer prices were high for the area(six point sweet action over $9) and the bartender had open scabs on his arm..not a good look. Â Not his fault but must be a hack job at the management level. Â Interesting two 'very similar' reviews below- same style...I give this place a month until they are giving away the place to generate some buzz- BnB
Review Source:Still in shock from my experience at this restaurant
We were told it would be a 20 min wait .....waited patiently for an hour, only to be told that our name had already been called. WHICH IT HAD NOT !
When i went to politely complain the staff member walked off mid sentence.
The staff and the manager have the manners of PIGS.
Rude and ghetto, they have never heard of customer service.
Also felt threatened by the staff., they are kind of "thuggish" and i'm talking about the girls that work here.
Would be really surprised if this disgusting hole in the wall lasted past the lease they have obtained on this property.
C'mon Forest Hills ....your better than this !
Food good, service horrible....was told 15 minute wait for seats...took over 1/2 hour. Â Took forever for drinks to arrive and waaaay too long for entrees. The only thing on time were the appetizers. Â I'll chalk it up to the location having just opened. Â On top of all that all the TVs went out for the second half of our stay. Â Waitress at least kept apologizing and checking in on us. Â If you are not I'm a rush and don't mind the incompetence the food is great for what it is. 4 stars for food...1 star for service (would be zero if not for the waitress).
Review Source:We ordered takeout lunch for the office and while the salads were just OK and unremarkable, the boneless buffalo wings were a huge fail. We order a medium size for 4 of us to share and at least 40% of the order were just fried dough balls covered in buffalo sauce, no chicken at all!
We called to complain and got the feeling the Manager knew all about it just by what he was saying. He told us the boneless wings are delivered frozen and they are working on this issue with the BWW "Research and Development" team.
Great, now my tummy hurts from fried dense dough balls. Sorry BWW, none of us will be back. So sad, this is not what the heart of Forest Hills needs in terms of new restaurants.
While it seems so far everyone is not happy with the service I would say we got lucky and our server was very nice. Now the wings are terrible, are you kidding me,
The sauce is blah, lacking any flavor and our Heineken was so watered down, we went on Tuesday when they were running a special but if I would have to pay full price  , I would give them 0 stars for quality of food.
This might be the new hot spot Forest Hills needed. Beers are $5-$7 depending on size and if it's domestic/import. The wings were "OK" but for .60 cents tuesdays/thursdays who's to complain? I personally can down 30 wings. Maybe 50. IF they were all given to me at once, but unforutntaely the staff here just can't handle multiple orders yet OR large parties. It takes 20 minutes for my 2nd beer to come to the table, another 20 minutes for my second order of wings to be check up on(which eventually i just canceled cause the food was settling in.
However they do have TRIVIA/Card games on the television that you can play! Ask your waitress/waiter for the electronic device and join in. Tradition is, if you win , make sure you stand up, and shout out "Who's _______, IN YO FACE!!!"
Oh boy, did I get my BWW cherry popped last night!
I am ALWAYS looking for good chicken wings in Queens and BWW have some really good chicken wings. (I can't believe I never heard of BWW until today)
Add to the meal a ton of TVs (72 huge HD TVs, is that enough?) with every sports game you can think of inside this 10,000+ sq. ft. restaurant and you will be very happy! Â
This new BWW that just opened is in the old Staples space above the Duane Reade (the old Forest Hills Theater).
My GF and I ordered the:
Mini Corn Dogs with honey mustard (46.29)- Good for turkey mini hot dogs. Rated 3/5.
Large wings with lemon pepper ($18.49 for ~20 pieces). Â A delicious dry rub. Optional blue cheese dressing. Rated 5/5.
Big Jack Daddy Burger ($10.99)- Very tasty. Definitely worth it. Rated 5/5.
Parking? Justforgettaboutit! Â
(There are many parking spots are on the other side of Queens Blvd. You will want to walk after the big meal)
Subway (E, F, R, M) is only half block from BWW.
Hints:
Tuesday nights are special wing nights.
Suggestion: This is a new restaurant with new staffing; I see that they are doing their best.
I was going to give this place another couple of weeks to get in their groove (I don't think it's fair to completely judge a place during their opening month, let alone opening week) but my craving for wings was too great to deny, so I called ahead to order take-out last night.
The girl who took my order on the phone was very polite and went through my somewhat complicated order with me a second time to make sure she got it right (she totally did.) Â She did balk a bit when I asked if I could have the order held for 45 minutes so I could get there from my job; apparently I should have said that from the get-go, not waited until the end of my order. Â Oh well, lesson learned.
I ordered the traditional wings in the following flavors: Spicy Garlic, Medium and Mango Habanero. Â I also ordered their cheeseburger "Slammers" (sliders) and fries, not knowing how large/filling the wings would be. Â
The Spicy Garlic were definitely my favorite out of the three; they could have been a bit spicier (they were like a 3/5 possible spiciness), but there was just the right amount of garlic in the sauce. Â I expected the Medium sauce to be a lot spicier than it was; next time, I'll go with Hot. Â The Mango Habanero wings were SUPER spicy. Â I wasn't a huge fan; while I liked the heat, they tasted more medicinal than they did mango-y. Â All of the wings themselves were pretty big and meaty (Croxley's is the only place in NY that I've been to where the wings are bigger) and cooked well (they juicy and pretty clean and not overcooked at all). Â
The Slammers were alright. Â Tasty enough, but I've had better, especially for the price (10 bucks for 3 sliders and a small side of fries). Same with the fries. Â The menu claims the fries are "natural cut", which I guess translates to "frozen but with the skins left on the ends." Â Again, alright, but nothing to write home about.
In any case, it's convenient for me (as it's right at the 71st Ave E/F/M/R subway stop) so I can definitely foresee myself picking up wings (or maybe even going in and eating at the bar) again, especially when football and hockey season start. Â I'd like to try some other flavors, too, and while I'm more of a "sauce" person, I am intrigued by the different "seasoned" wings enough that I may try them.
I'm definitely willing to amend my review after everything settles in a couple of months, should their food/service improve. Â Until then, it seems to be a place that offers a variety of okay wings that most places don't, but in that regard, it is a "jack of all wings, master of none"...
This place is new in the neighborhood. Â I tried a few of their wings yest. Â There are long lines for the obvious reasons but I was not particularly happy with the service. Â While the front cashiers are nice they really need to be trained to serve the RIGHT orders to customers. Â I had ordered boneless wings only to discover I was given wings with bones.....I specifically said 5 TIMES i wanted 2 blue cheese on the side.....I was given one......HIRE people with some more common sense! Â Thank you !
Review Source:When you take into consideration they just opened it's a bunch of probably kids from summer young people working there I have to say who helped me was very friendly very professional so with that in mind I definitely give them before stars yes they can improve but it's just the second day so I'm giving them a break
Review Source:Food - decent.
Service - Atrocious.
I'll give these guys a break because in all fairness, it is their opening day.. but it took an hour and a half for the food to come out after ordering which is unacceptable (mind you, we ordered one salad and 20 wings... AND they screwed up the salad too by giving me grilled chicken and not breaded).
The staff and the kitchen clearly were not sufficiently trained for the opening day. Someone is to blame for the fact that my dinner took two and a half hours from start to finish.
I recommend that all readers wait at least a month (at least I will) until trying out this place so that the staff team can get used to working with each other. Service definitely needs to improve before I give this place a shot again.
I plan to try this place again in a month. When I do, I'll write an updated review.
Do you know Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the movie? (the classic super awesome version with Gene Wilder, not the one with Johnny Depp!) Remember the "Golden Ticket"? Well my boss gave me the "Golden Ticket" to get into a pre opening at Buffalo Wild Wings...but instead it was a blue ticket, not golden...and instead of a wonderland of chocolate and candy, we got a wonderland of wings and burgers! Which is much more awesome!
My boyfriend and I ordered:
Appetizer:
-Mini Corn Dogs with Honey Mustard Sauce (made with turkey hot dogs) $6.29 (2.5/5)
Entrees:
-Large order of Lemon Pepper (dry rub) Traditional Wings $18.49 (5/5)
-Big Jack Daddy Burger without cheese $10.29 (5/5)
Dessert:
-Chocolate Fudge Cake $5.69 (2/5)
The highlight, for me, was the lemon pepper wings. I love dry rubs on wings. I don't really have a thing against messy sauced wings just that sometimes I would like a dry rub. Wings were crispy, seasoned well and not overcooked. LOVED THE WINGS. There was about 20 wings and are okay priced.
The burger, we were told when we ordered it, will be cooked to medium. I rather be safe when it comes to ground meat, no matter where you eat it. The nice sized burger came topped with hickory-smoked pulled pork, fried onion rings, their signature Honey BBQ sauce and french fries. The burger was really, really good. Usually the burger comes with cheddar jack cheese but my bf is lactose intolerant like I am. For $10.29, it is a priced right and a very satisfying meal.
The cake was a big rich slice of chocolate fudge cake drizzled with chocolate sauce and served with vanilla ice cream. I just had the cake. It was too rich for me. It tasted like they do not make the cake on the premises and rich chocolate cake never really been my thing. I much rather have more wings! I mean...it's Buffalo Wild Wings!
The service was EXCEPTIONAL. I have to commend the franchise for training their staff so well on customer service. Most places ignore the customer service aspect but not here at BWW. They take their customer service very seriously. It was super impressive. Our waiter really knew his stuff. He knew how each wing sauce or seasoning would taste. He knew how each dish is prepared. He was the best waiter I had in a long, long time. I can tell he was trained very carefully because of his knowledge. Service (10 out of 5!)
I asked our waiter about the BWW promotions. He was happy to tell me that Tuesday they run a special for traditional wings or boneless wings, 60 cents each. On Thursday is boneless wing special priced at also 60 cents each. (Minimum order of 6 wings per flavor, both days)
This restaurant is massive with tons of TVs for sports events. There is no restaurant in Forest Hills this size.
I am sooooo coming back for wings. I love wings.
I know some people are leery of chain restaurants but I have to say I really liked what I tried today at Buffalo Wild Wings. It's very reasonable priced and I can see myself come here on a regular basis. It's one of the most reasonably priced places to eat in Forest Hills. I am not usually a fan of chain restaurants but BWW changed my mind.
Yay to BWW coming to Forest Hills.
