I had a decent experience. Probably not worth the price, but you should still try eating here.

I truly do not understand the other reviews of Cafe Fondue. I went in to Cafe Fondue on July 16 fully expecting to have the worst experience ever and actually had an enjoyable night. My fiance and I ordered the 4 course meal Americana. Our waitress Ashley was fast and polite! She promptly brought out our Gruyere cheese fondue with french bread, rye bread, apples and grapes to dip in it. It was gone in minutes! we loved it! After that, we were served a delicious spring salad mix with a honey dijon vinaigrette. After that, we had our filet mignon, jumbo shrimp and boneless chicken served with a plate full of fresh veggies. We enjoyed cooking our food in the hot oil and dipping it in the wonderful array of sauces. My favorite was the garlic butter and orange sweet and sour. Our flaming dessert of milk chocolate was eaten with fresh strawberries, pineapple, pound cake, banana, marshmallows, and graham crackers. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate our one year anniversary! We will definitely be coming back! Everything was served fresh and fast. The service was impeccable and water glasses were always kept filled! You will definitely enjoy it!

If it wasn't for the great company dining with me, I'd be terribly disappointed.  The cheddar fondue was gritty and disgusting, the main dish was ridiculous.   It looked like our whole table shared one steak cut up in small pieces.  Oils could have at least been flavored to make it  somewhat better.  EXTREMELY over priced in my opinion.  Plus they added 18% gratuity to the bill even though our group had seperate checks.  The dessert was okay but not outstanding.  However, the wait staff was very friendly.  It was an interesting experience, but I would head to chicago for the next fondue meal.  Dont waste your money!

I can't express more how ripped off I felt leaving this place!

I'll try to be fair and grade them on categories.

    First is quality of FOOD:
What David P. was saying about the bread is true. They do cut up hamburger buns and serve it to with a few other pieces of actual decent bread...but HAMBURGER BREAD should have no place at a fondue restaurant. Disgusting.
The portions of filet mignon are laughable...it was starting to look old...You pay $30 for 6 tiny strips of crappy quality meat and 3 tiny pieces of floured chicken, why they hell would you flour the chicken!? And why does the chicken at Burger King and McDonald's taste BETTER than the crap they are serving at Cafe FonDUH.
The scallops were okay and a decent size for six pieces.

Cheese: There was so little for three people that we had to scrape the bowl and still wanted more...and actually the nacho cheese stuff you get at a movie theatre tastes better than stuff at this joint.

Cooking broth: FREAKIN' Vegetable Oil. What the hell!? Who wants to deep fry their food? Isn't this supposed be upscale and the dipping broth be full of spices, wine and other delicious indgredients? NO! just OIL! NASTY! And to top it off they reuse the oil! I think they just strain it and then put it back out for the next victims.

For the chocolate fondue we asked for some additional strawberries and they we were told that it would cost extra! There were three people in our group and they only brought out TWO strawberries. What the hell!

We ordered two separate four course meals and they would only bring out the amount of food as if we ordered only 1 meal.

Cafe Fondue is the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had! Period. I have had better food in small villages in Mexico, fresher and more flavorful than the crap they serve at Cafe Fondue.
I rather eat a sweaty sock than to ever eat at Cafe Fondue ever again, at least the sock will have some flavor!

David P. was right about the service...our waiter was at the bar eating some food while we were waiting for the check...none of the staff really smiled, just bad service...

    This place is absolute genius!

I came here with my wife for our 3 year wedding anniversary, ready to drop some cash for a fun and delicious meal.  And oh, we certainly did end up having fun, as we left the place in stitches, laughing at how utterly ridiculous the place was.  What originality!  Whoever thought to open a comedy club and disguising it as a high-priced fondue place needs to be congratulated.

First, the decorations are classic.  You walk in expecting to pay $150 a couple, so you also expect to sit in a well-lit, well decorated restaurant.  Instead, you walk into a strip mall shop with the decorations painted on the walls!  Hilarious!

But wait.  The service is even better.  Instead of hiring hard-working, friendly employees with even a rudimentary knowledge of the wine list, they fill the place with disinterested teenagers who would rather lean against the wall than fill your water glass.  Genius!

Yet none of these jokes compare to the actual food itself.  What sort of bread would you think you'd get to dip in your $30 tub of bubbling cheese?   A nicely browned, imported loaf packed with impeccable flavor?  Nope.  French baguette?  Uh-uh.  Wonder Bread?  Try again.  Actually, what my wife and I got for our money was cut up hamburger buns.  NO JOKE!  CUT UP HAMBURGER BUNS!  Absolutely classic.

The real punchline is the meat.  And not that the meat is of a poor quality (though it's certainly not great) it's that for a single plate (approaching $40 at times) you get 6 strips of meat about the size of your big toe.  Band, where's my rimshot?!

Cafe Fondue is a truly unique experience.  It's the only restaurant that I've ever left feeling like Howie Mandel was going to jump out from behind the (painted on) curtains and tell me that I'm on his prank show.

    Genius.  Absolutely genius.
