Me and a couple friends who flew in from Virginia went here Saturday night around 1130. We were staying at the Four Points hotel behind it. We went into the bar at the hotel and it was dead so we decided to go for a walk and find somewhere else.
When we walked in we noticed a please wait to be seated sign so we waited for a couple minutes and no one came over so we just went to the bar. Before we even sat down the bartender looks at us and just says "IDs?" So we finish sitting down and get our IDs out and hand them to him. One of my friends accidentally dropped his ID and it kind of slid on the slick bar top.The bartender looked at our IDs and handed them back and when he went to hand my friends back he said Can I throw it back at you? Strike 1.
The bartender hands us a menu and before we have even looked at it he ask what do you want. Already a little frustrated I told him a minute to decided and he huffed and walked away. Finally after waiting about five minutes to order (the place wasn't busy at all, the bartenders were kind of just standing in the back talking) a different bartender came up and asked if we needed our bartender and we told him yes so he told our bartender. He didn't hurry over or anything he hung in the back for a little bit longer talking to a cook that have come out. He was talking in Spanish and kept looking over at us. It made us uncomfortable and a little more frustrated. Strike 2.
Finally I called another bartender and asked to talk to a manager. He said he was the manager and asked how he could help him and as we were talking (just telling him how our bartender had a bad attitude and wasn't helpful and had lost three potential customers) some other people came in and sat next to us and the manager just looked at me and said Oh and then walked to the new people. Strike 3.

Ate here last night while staying at the hotel.  Went in during happy hour.  Had wonderful hummus with vegetables and pita.  Enough for three to share.  Then had bowl of vegetable barley soup....best I have had since I was a child.

Good food at reasonable prices.  Was very busy when I was there, but the service was fine.

Overpriced drinks and mediocre food.  The bar was out of every draft beer advertised except Mic Ultra.  Yuck. Wouldn't go back.

Located in the LAX Marriott's 1st floor, this sports bar and grill is actually a pretty good place for a decent eat and for people-watching. They offer a pretty good selection of food compared to the typical inside-the-hotel kind of place and the prices are reasonable (oversized appetizers that could serve as a meal if you're not too hungry, salads, burgers, steaks, fish, etc.). They offer a very generous Cobb salad with grilled chicked and avocado that very few would be able to finish. I've also tried and been satisfied with their burgers and the grilled salmon on other occasions.

Beer prices and selection are decent, too (~$4-$5/glass). Be warned, however, that the cocktail prices here are pretty obscene. A rum and coke (single shot, house rum, glass filled about 2/3 with ice) set me back $10. A Cap'n and Coke was $14. Outrageous! Other than that knock, this is a good spot to unwind at the close of a long business day or at either end of a flight. Good sized crowd every time I've visited, but not packed in - seats can be had with a minimal wait.

I think the description of a three star rating pretty much describes it, A-OK.  I ordered a burger here and it was really pretty good.  My server came back one time and my water glass was empty my whole time there.  I asked for a refill when I got my bill and waited a couple of minutes before I finally decided to leave.  It's on par with most hotel bars and I try to go to them unless I have to or they're that much more convenient.  I'm sure I'll end up back here again sometime for one of those two reasons.

Food is good enough, if a little overpriced. But what did you expect at a hotel restaurant?

The real problem here is service. I attend a yearly event that is currently at the LAX Marriott, so I've been eating here at least twice a year.  That is, until this past weekend.  Went in because the hotel's two better restaurants were closed. Had an adequate sandwich, the drink was good. But the service... My sandwich came, I asked for mayonnaise, the waitress said she'd bring it right over. Five minutes later, I started eating my sandwich before it got cold. The mayo never came.  And it took three tries to get the check.

Adding insult to injury, we were at a table with several other people, so they added an 18% mandatory "tip" to the bill. What a rip-off!

Haven't had this problem in past years, so I think it's inconsistency rather than always bad service.  Robert R.'s review of 9/17/2012 said it best: In a heavily trafficked hotel, a captive audience -- they'll get the customers without having to try, so they don't.

If you want good service, go to Latitude 33 or JW's Steakhouse (same hotel). But those have much more limited hours than Campions, so...

I hate hotel bars usually and this wasn't much an exception. It had TVs and that was cool. But the one bartender was a little too busy to get enough attention and the prices were terrible. It sucks staying down around the airport because these are the only types of places you can drink at (especially since they stop selling beer at the gas stations so early). I had a beer and a bloody mary and was not pleased with how much I paid. My friend and I were going to east but scrapped that and went to Burger King after we finished our drinks. Not even that fun of a place to hangout with. It's all drunken lonely business people.

What you would expect - good wings, great burger, all the sport you can watch on screens everywhere, and lots of great beers on tap.
For a hotel bar, actually pretty cool. Serving sizes are ginormous, just a warning, and we are both big eaters.

I have been here a half dozen times because I like this hotel and this is the easy button when it comes to restaurants.

Can't say much more than others here.  Food is mediocre to poor, prices are nuts, and service is varied.

That being said, this place ain't going anywhere.  Its in a heavily trafficked hotel with a captured audience.  They can continue to do what  they do and it will have little to no affect on the volume. Fellow yelpers beware!

Fair. Its in an airport hotel. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was just okay, but I was mostly there to drink and they kept those coming. Pretty typical sports bar decore.

We decided to eat here with the family before leaving for vacation. HUGE MISTAKE!! It was the worst dining experience we have ever had. It was a kitchen nightmare. Service was extremely slow and the food was inedible. It took forever just to get water and order our food. We waited a very long time for our appetizers and even longer for our meals. The meal took more than 1.5 hours. We were told the reason for the hold up on the food was that they were waiting on the sliders to cook. When the food was brought out, the sliders were overcooked, dry, and inedible. The child's hot dog was not brought out and we waited even longer to receive it. When we inquired, we were told that the hot dog fell on the floor. When it was finally brought out, the hot dog was dry, overcooked, and inedible. The chicken sandwich was also rubbery and could not be eaten. The only dish that anyone enjoyed was the buffalo wings. While we were given free desserts and some of the meals were comped, this did not make up for the unacceptable food and service, which still amounted to a $100 meal.

Yummy. I read the reviews and was pleasantly surprised. I am staying at the Crowne Plaza and got hungry around 7pm. The hotels near LAX are nice enough but the area can get sketchy. I was hesitant to walk far and didn't want to eat at my hotel. My husband and I walked over to the Marriott and ate here after checking out the menu online. I had the cheese burger sliders and my husband had the bacon cheese burger minus cheese. Both came with fries. They were delicious- the burgers and the fries. I also found the sodas to be nicely carbonated and not watery like a lot of places. I would definately come back if I were to stay nearby.

Ate at Champions last night ( 5/6/12 ).  Due to flight delay, checked into the Marriott, and then came downstairs, and walked in at 11:30pm.

Place was half full,  good bar set up,  nice large HD TVs well spread out for easy viewing.  I sat at a table, had a very friendly waitress, she wore glasses, can't remember her name.

I ordered the New York Strip Steak with salad with ranch dressing, and a Coca Cola.   Excellent food.  Steak was tasty, good portion, and satisfying.   Good salad that came with dressing on the side.  Well carbonated Coke.  Server checked on me regularly and I got to catch up on the day's sports events via ESPN.   The bill was $ 30. A tad pricey, but food was so good, and I had such a nice time, it was worth it.

I've been here several times in the last year when I've had layovers at one of the hotels nearby. I'm not sure why I keep coming back. It's always been mediocre at best.

First of all, it's drastically overpriced. I guess they know their customer base is trapped near the airport and without many options. Secondly, the food has never been great. I've had the wings several times. Once or twice they've been good, but the rest of the time they're soggy and slimy. If you want an order of wings and one 22 ounce domestic beer, you'll pay close to $30 with tax and tip. Not worth it.

Service has always been mediocre too. It's luck of the draw whether you get a good waitress (they have one or two) or a bad one. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because of all the TVs and their extensive selection of draft beer, even if it is overpriced.

Bottom line, if there's a big game on that you want to see and you don't mind paying $8-$10 per beer, this place is good. If you're just wanting a decent meal, there are far better places than this.

Ugh.  Terrible service.  It took over 30 minutes for my food to come.  I ordered the chicken sandwich- they brought a fish sandwich.  Fine, it's loud, waitress heard me wrong mistakes happen.  Then it takes another 25 minutes for them to bring out the right thing.  Overcooked, dry, salty, and a huge chewy bun.  The salad I ordered with it was just hamburger toppings on a plate.  I would have less of a problem paying $16 for a sandwich if it was at least tasty.

I literally would have been better off going across the street to Burger King.  No apologies from the staff for the lateness of the food.

    Avoid!!!

If it weren't for the tvs everywhere playing the NFL playoffs, it would get 0 stars.  Seriously the food here was bad.  Everything from my apple pie to the chicken strips and salads were all horrible.

The best thing about the meal was that it was part of work so it got expensed.

Visited Champions last night while I was staying at the LAX Marriott. I didn't make it for Happy Hour, which looked like a very good deal, so I had to order from the full price menu. My waitress Lisa was very knowledgeable about the menu and she exuded a lot of confidence. I didn't like any of the draft beers they had so I went with brewed unsweetened ice tea. She came back with a glass: too much ice for me and instead of lemon or lime it had an orange slice in it, and it didn't work for me. She quickly brought four slices of lemon as I removed some of the ice. OK, now we are going. I ordered the traditional French onion soup and is was very good. It was smothered with mozzarella cheese and served with two sour dough rolls and an interesting roll that looked like a pretzel stick, but it wasn't. It was good though. For my main entree I took her suggestion and ordered the Greektown Salad, and it was good. Instead of the traditional lamb/beef blend at a real Greek restaurant, the salad with all the usual Greek food items like Feta cheese, olives, etc., was served with a sliced with a medium cooked skirt steak, flatbread and cucumber sauce. I believe the Greeks call it tzatfiki sauce, and I am not sure of the spelling. I don't know what the other reviewers were talking about when they hit this place hard. I didn't have a burger so I can't judge them. But this is a hotel sports bar! What are they thinking? Yes, it is a bit over-priced for what you get. But again, it is California, LA and, again, a hotel sports bar. It has televisions all over the place, so I was able to watch Sharapova lose her finals match in Australia, while also watching basketball, UFC, etc. What else do you need for a sports bar?

Was in LA for a quick meeting and since the Courtyard down the road did not have a restaurant, the front desk recommended walking to this sports bar a few blocks down the road. It is located inside a Marriott. Not sure what I expected, but the food was not good. I was there late, so I did not want a complex meal. I ordered the hamburger ($14) and in addition to taking a long time to get the foods, it did not taste that good either. The service was below average, and it actually took longer for me to get my check after I was done eating than it took for me to eat the burger. I kicked myself for not jumping in a cab and finding an In-n-Out.

Was staying in one of those LAX hotels on the block, and picked Champions as a meetup spot for a quick happy hour mixer, without the happy hour prices (wkdays only).

VERY conveniently located inside Marriott, with validated parking.

This place actually reminds me of a mini-"Shenaniganz" from that movie "Waiting..." or like a McDonald's stand inside an airport. The staff didn't like that our group just grabbed beers from the bar and took over a row of tables. Therefore the atmosphere wasn't very chill, but I suppose they have reason to be irritated, as we weren't there to have a dinner or purchase their overpriced, deep-fried frozen food! Not that I hate on that, it would be great with our beers had we not been in a time crunch.
Good (un-cheap) selection on tap by the way... Hoegaarden (!), Guinness, Dirty Bastard IPA, plus the usual suspects Sam Adams/Coors, etc...

    Julie

    2 1/2 Stars

You don't come here for great food or anything.  It's an airport hotels sports bar so it does what it's suppose to do.  Feed a bunch of travelers staying overnight while providing sports on tv.

    Cup of Chili  ok

Grilled chicken sandwich left little to be desired. The bun was literally twice the size of the chicken.  But it was edible.  Fries on the side were forgettable.

Cold beer and baseball with pretty decent service.  I would come back because you really don't have much choice and they don't have TV's in the other restaurants at the hotel.

A good spot for travelers with no where to go....

As I stated in my review of the LAX Marriott in which this sports bar is located, it's overpriced and underwhelming. But since we were staying in the hotel, and leaving the parking lot would have been foolish (and possibly expensive, depending on if they wanted to be dicks), we decided to just grab some grub here for convenience sake.

Now, I chose to forego getting any drinks because I had my own minibar rocking up in the room, so this was strictly a foodstuffs-only affair. Everything is priced about the same here: $12-14 for entrees. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, which came with onion, guacamole, lettuce and tomato. And it wasn't all that bad. Kinda bland, not terribly filling... but edible. I can eat like a bottomless pit more often than not, so I found myself craving more almost as soon as I was done. I even ate all of my fries (something I rarely order, and even more rarely do), which were pasty and blase.

We had a really bizarre waitress. She kept eavesdropping on our conversations. At one point, out of nowhere, she started laughing and commented on a funny face one of my buddies made. Kinda creeped us out, but maybe she was just being a little too friendly? Who knows or cares. I'd rather have spent my money on a real meal somewhere in LA, but the proximity to anything well-known by me was far too great. But I'd say if you're staying here, and want to eat in the hotel, this is likely the best you'll do. I say save yourself $20 and get a grilled chicken sandwich at the Carl's Jr. down the block. Same quality, 75% less cost.

loud spot sports everywhere..duh sports bar.  have gone multiple time always have to walk over to the servers section n ask who our server will b so they know we sat down since you do sit yourself and sometimes servers  take long time to come by.  drinks r bit pricy n some r not that great. the one thing i do hate is that they have no set time to close there r times that at 11 they r kicking us out while other times we have been there till1. i think mainly depends on the flow of ppl. food wise have had cesar salad which is ok normal n the chickend wings good.

When you're at a convention in a hotel and you don't want to go very far because at-con emergencies can happen at any moment, this is the place to go for a late dinner.

The service is okay. You have to flag them down to get service but once you sit down, it's okay. Nothing spectacular nor subpar. Just...meh. There are some servers who are outstanding and others that are just so-so.

The food is typical Americana and it's a sports bar so there are quite a few tvs with various sports on. Sitting at the bar was more fun and interactive since the bartenders will talk to you and you get more attention than sitting at a table.

I had some of their burgers and salads and it didn't wow me but it satisfied me enough that the 2 minute walk to this place was better than the 12 minute walk to Carl's Junior was better....in high heels.

Plus the proximity made it more worth while when I had to take my food to go and handle an emergency at the ballroom level.

The setup: weird!  This place has a bunch of tables and expects you to just grab one yourself.  There really isn't any rhyme or reason to it and there was no queue to be found.

The food: subpar.  When the food finally came, it wasn't great.  The buffalo wings (a favorite food of mine) were rather hard and overcooked.  They weren't very flavorful and the buffalo sauce didn't have quite the kick that it normally does.

At least the service was alright.  It's a bit slower than I'm used to, but everything came at least.

If you're at the Marriott and need a quick bite, burn your cash here.  There are cheaper places to go, but this is definitely the most convenient.

So BTC decided to go for the last Celtics vs. Lakers game, 20 girls in tow and 2 tolerant males all in our Laker glorified regalia.
We walk in and the bouncers already giving us a hard time..."Can't sit at the tables unless you are gonna eat" - ok...we are!
Boston fans are abundant, toasty and rowdy already!
We eat, we drink...we make friends with the local LA fans - sparse but mighty.
Game is well...shall I say, ending: Boston fans decide to start heckling us! F' MVP!
Our heads snap over to them * WHAT?*
SO, the chanting begins...needless to say BAR FIGHT!
The other LA fans that are there buy us ALL a round of drinks! PRETTY penny! WOWZA!
I would not go there ever ever ever ever AGAIN! Suck Balls CHAMPIONS
We mozzied on over to the Goose for some good lap dancing action...well kinda, but hey were drunk already and defeated.
