We went to Chili's to take advantage of their 2 for $20 deal (2 entrees and an app from a limited menu for $20). The place was packed, surprisingly enough -- there was around a 20 minute wait for a table.
I opted for the shrimp tacos, she had a bacon-chicken quesadilla, and we split an order of chips and guac. The app was fine, although there were WAY too many chips for the volume of salsa and guacamole that came with it. My shrimp tacos were tasty (a bit sweet, perhaps), although I missed out on the slice of lime that came on the side (buried between the tacos and the bowl of black beans) until the last taco. Adding the lime to the sweet shrimp sauce gave the whole thing a nice, sour, tang.
Her quesadillas were, for lack of a better word, boring. There was nothing to really recommend them, but at the same time, they were competently made and there was nothing per se wrong with them. They just weren't all that interesting.
Overall, it's a chain restaurant. There's not a lot to differentiate it from any number of other, mid-tier, chain restaurants, aside from price... which explains why we went there in the first place. Still, when 2 people can have an app and two entrees for under $30, it's a good value.
