Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Que

Have always loved Sonny's...been going for a million years...nice to see that they are back on track. When my "foodie" Son visits from Boston it is a must for him to travel down memory lane with a rib in one hand and a sliced meat sandwich in the other. It seems as though our Winkler Rd. location stumbled a few years ago and the food got very "iffy" but the Sweet and Smokey Ribs we devoured the other night were right on track! The coleslaw was crunchy, the fries were hot and fresh and the ribs were meaty, juicy and had great flavor...even my cornbread was moist and warm! When Sonny's is good there isn't anyone better!

Maybe it's a childhood memories and that I live so far away from any Sonny's, but it's my first stop when I fly into Lee County and my last meal when I fly out. It's the best BBQ chicken anywhere. I couldn't even tell you what the other meats taste like at a sonny's, I can't get past the great smoky taste of the pull off the bone chicken. Oh and of course the BBQ bean too. I have had better BBQ in general, but nothing beats the flavor and coincidence of Sonny's chicken.

Love their food, prefer their sweet sauce, and the sweet tea is just amazing! Sure do miss it, as I used to live in the area awhile back.
