This place is an Aurora staple!
If you want some inexpensive Chinese food that is good, just stop by and get some grub!
I am sure (know) that their staff deals with some relatively challenging people at times, so they seem to have a wall up when dealing with customers. If they (the cashiers) were more pleasant, I am sure they would get more business. Their customer experience is seriously lacking - but I take it for what it is. I order ahead of time and go pick up my food and leave. I keep it simple!
Enjoyed this place for a long time, when I lived near enough to come get the food myself. Â Trying to place a delivery order with them is an exercise in bad attitude that I can't abide anymore, it used to be one particular girl giving bad service, now it's everyone who answers the phone. Â They don't know basics about the surrounding area, even seemingly 1 major street up, I gave them my cross street as Alameda and Havana (insanely close to them) and they seemed absolutely baffled as to how far it was from their location. They began a side conference between people there as to who would go out to make the delivery, only to have it end with them refusing delivery altogether because I was "too far" away. Â According to Google maps i'm less than 3 miles from their listed address, so I have no idea what their problem is, I just don't intend to deal with it again.
Review Source:I was craving Chinese food very bad and wanted to try a new place. I read the reviews for China Chef Express, and most were good reviews. Their online menu prices need to be updated as they are a little more now. I placed an order and they called to tell me it'd actually be six dollars more after online ordering, no biggie. But the food it's not horrible but it's not good either. My girlfriend and I has the egg drop soup and threw it out fast. The rest of it wasn't bad but didn't have much flavor. Cheap prices though so I guess you kinda get what you pay for.
Review Source:This is one of the best inexpensive, fast food Chinese restaurants I have eaten at. Â I had the Kung Pao Chicken and Appetizer Combo. Â The Kung Pao was great with its sliced chicken, something different from other restaurants and it came with fried rice which was also great. Â The combo, I loved the egg rolls, spare ribs and the cheese wontons. Â The fried shrimp and chicken wings were kinda bland, but dipped them in the spicy hot oil which helped out. Â The portions were huge and I ended up taking it home and enjoyed the left overs. Â Had a chance to talk to most all of the staff and they were very friendly. Â I most definitely will be back for more.
Review Source:They've got a very full menu. Lots to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. I really like the lo mein. The sesame chicken doesn't have much in terms of veggies, which was disappointing. Their sweet and sour is top notch, the crab and cheese wantons a little heavy on extra dough but still good.
Problems:
-The white rice was very mediocre.
-No veggies with the sesame chicken??! What a bore.
I've been to about three chinese restaurants in town trying to find good crab meat wontons and I've finally found them - here! Â The dipping sauce they give was delicious and not as red/bright as other restaurants. Â I also got the shrimp lo mein combo meal, which includes the entree, fried rice and an egg roll. Â Total bill was under $12, which was the cheapest I've had so far as well. Â The shrimp and lo mein were delicious, nice and big. Â The fried rice was great, but bits of onion in case you aren't into that. Â The egg roll and wontons again were yummy. Â Yes, a little greasy but for that price and the amount, I will be going back again and again.
Review Source:Pretty good food, a little greasy. Crab cheese wantons at a great price and tasted good. Good vegetarian menu. The Kung Pow mock beef was delicious, and mildly spicy. Awesome portions, and overall nice prices. I had take out, so customer service experience was limited, but pleasant. We have been wary of Chinese restaurants, finding ones we will return to are rare, but this one turned out pretty good.
Review Source:I really love to eat Chinese food, and this place is among the few that I keep going back to. Â Its a small restaurant but most of its business is its take-out. Â Its located in a strip mall surrounded by residential areas. Â I mostly do take-outs but have eaten there several times. Â Its great for families, first-dates, a place to munch and do homework, and a great place to take a friend for lunch. Â I like the fact that every couple of months that make changes in their menu and totally offer some great new dish for you to try. Â I absolutely love the BBQ chicken, and the Basil Chicken with Noodle choice. Â Customer Service is the best, especially on nights when they are super busy with orders. Â I 100% recommend this place to try.
