I don't know where to begin with this place! The service sucked! And they weren't that busy! We ordered Korean BBQ, you know the kind that you cook yourself at the table. It took them 45 minutes to bring our raw meats out! I ordered all different types of meats including beef tripe. The server comes back to tell me they are out of tripe. The manager then tells the server (we were close to the kitchen) something in Korean and the server comes back to our table and apologizes for her mistake and they do have beef tripe. Then when she finally brings our drink and food (at the same time 45 minutes later) I looked at what they called the beef tripe and told the server it wasn't beef tripe. She went to get the manager. The manager argued with me that it was beef tripe. I argued back that it wasn't. So she went to the back and got out an empty bag with the words beef tripe on it and said that was what the vendors sent her. Well, for her being Asian she should know what beef tripe looks like and she should know that with me being Asian I would know what beef tripe looks like! We argued in front of everyone for about 10 minutes. I just gave up after that. I would never step foot in that place again. Food was mediocre and the service sucks ass! BTW, no comp whatsoever not even to replace the so-called tripe for another even valued meat.
I took a picture of what they called tripe. Everyone I know said the same thing "That's not tripe! It's pork chitterlings!"
Came here for lunch once and liked it and since not a lot of places are opened on New Year's day, we came here for lunch. To our disappointment, their lunch special is not available today. Their regular menu items are a bit more pricey, I feel, compared to other Korean restaurants in the area.
Here's my issue to start... they ran out of hot tea. What kinda Asian restaurant runs out of hot tea?! And it's not, oh sorry it'll take 2 min, it's just we're out. And then someone else sat down 15 min after and what are they served? Hot tea. like everyone else said, service is super slow. We weren't ready when the waitress first stopped by, and then I don't see her for another 15 min. Someone else apparently noticed and came by. 3 more minutes and I would've walked out. Â Finally hot tea came (and yes, they lost me at hot tea). Â
Finally our food came after what seemed forever, and the food was ok. Â I liked my Yuk gae jang and my bf only liked his food ok (it was so not memorable). Â Waited another year and finally got our bill paid.
I went back for a second time since I had to use a Google Offer. Â Same slow service. Â I ordered the galbi on a showy day, the restaurant isn't that full. Â I asked for hot tea. Â This time I got it, after like 15 minutes and got 1 refill through the whole meal. Â I liked the galbi but for about $15, I had 6 good pieces of meat and 4 end bits. Â Taste was good but just didn't seem worth it. Â I could've just gone to Sushi Katsu and get all you can eat for $13.99. Â When I ask for the bill, I showed them the offer on my phone. Â So for Google, when you hit "Use Now", it apparent shows a button to say "Use Later" or something to let you undo it. Â The guy apparently was confused by it, came by and told me, and proceed to give me a bill for the full amount. Â Took me some talking for him to take down the number and accept the coupon. Â I was adamant about it too since I'm sure as hell not coming here again. Â
So here it is. Â If you have all the time in the world, is ok with terrible service for ok food. Â Then go there. Â Otherwise, there's at least 3 other places within 3-mile radius that are much better on all front (ie. Seoul Korean BBQ, Han Kang, the restaurant in H mart).
We were warmly greeted when we entered the restaurant and opted for a hibachi table. We both ordered Korean beer (yum) and at the advice of the waitress, went with one of the bigger meals. It was a lot of food and it was all quite delicious. Whenever I go to an "ethnic" restaurant, I tend to judge how authentic it is by the amount of patrons that are of that particular "ethnicity" eating at the restaurant. This place was definitely authentic.
Customer service was great, however, it was a little hard to understand what the waitress was saying, since her accent was very thick.
We will definitely return, but the next time we go, we will probably let the kitchen cook all the food.
