I don't know where to begin with this place! The service sucked! And they weren't that busy! We ordered Korean BBQ, you know the kind that you cook yourself at the table. It took them 45 minutes to bring our raw meats out! I ordered all different types of meats including beef tripe. The server comes back to tell me they are out of tripe. The manager then tells the server (we were close to the kitchen) something in Korean and the server comes back to our table and apologizes for her mistake and they do have beef tripe. Then when she finally brings our drink and food (at the same time 45 minutes later) I looked at what they called the beef tripe and told the server it wasn't beef tripe. She went to get the manager. The manager argued with me that it was beef tripe. I argued back that it wasn't. So she went to the back and got out an empty bag with the words beef tripe on it and said that was what the vendors sent her. Well, for her being Asian she should know what beef tripe looks like and she should know that with me being Asian I would know what beef tripe looks like! We argued in front of everyone for about 10 minutes. I just gave up after that. I would never step foot in that place again. Food was mediocre and the service sucks ass! BTW, no comp whatsoever not even to replace the so-called tripe for another even valued meat.

I took a picture of what they called tripe. Everyone I know said the same thing "That's not tripe! It's pork chitterlings!"

Came here for lunch once and liked it and since not a lot of places are opened on New Year's day, we came here for lunch. To our disappointment, their lunch special is not available today. Their regular menu items are a bit more pricey, I feel, compared to other Korean restaurants in the area.

Here's my issue to start... they ran out of hot tea. What kinda Asian restaurant runs out of hot tea?! And it's not, oh sorry it'll take 2 min, it's just we're out. And then someone else sat down 15 min after and what are they served? Hot tea. like everyone else said, service is super slow. We weren't ready when the waitress first stopped by, and then I don't see her for another 15 min. Someone else apparently noticed and came by. 3 more minutes and I would've walked out.  Finally hot tea came (and yes, they lost me at hot tea).

Finally our food came after what seemed forever, and the food was ok.  I liked my Yuk gae jang and my bf only liked his food ok (it was so not memorable).  Waited another year and finally got our bill paid.

I went back for a second time since I had to use a Google Offer.  Same slow service.  I ordered the galbi on a showy day, the restaurant isn't that full.  I asked for hot tea.  This time I got it, after like 15 minutes and got 1 refill through the whole meal.  I liked the galbi but for about $15, I had 6 good pieces of meat and 4 end bits.  Taste was good but just didn't seem worth it.  I could've just gone to Sushi Katsu and get all you can eat for $13.99.  When I ask for the bill, I showed them the offer on my phone.  So for Google, when you hit "Use Now", it apparent shows a button to say "Use Later" or something to let you undo it.  The guy apparently was confused by it, came by and told me, and proceed to give me a bill for the full amount.  Took me some talking for him to take down the number and accept the coupon.  I was adamant about it too since I'm sure as hell not coming here again.

So here it is.  If you have all the time in the world, is ok with terrible service for ok food.  Then go there.  Otherwise, there's at least 3 other places within 3-mile radius that are much better on all front (ie. Seoul Korean BBQ, Han Kang, the restaurant in H mart).

We were warmly greeted when we entered the restaurant and opted for a hibachi table. We both ordered Korean beer (yum) and at the advice of the waitress, went with one of the bigger meals. It was a lot of food and it was all quite delicious. Whenever I go to an "ethnic" restaurant, I tend to judge how authentic it is by the amount of patrons that are of that particular "ethnicity" eating at the restaurant. This place was definitely authentic.

Customer service was great, however, it was a little hard to understand what the waitress was saying, since her accent was very thick.

We will definitely return, but the next time we go, we will probably let the kitchen cook all the food.

In my opinion, this place is just a step down from some of the other Korean joints in town. Not sure what it is exactly. The decor is certainly lovely and the prices reasonable. But the flavors here just don't seem as strong as other places. My noodle dish I got was quite bland with somewhat slimy noodles (which I guess is intentional but still not that pleasing to my mouth). My girlfriend was also not super impressed with her rice dish, saying it was good but not better than what she has made herself at home. The service was also a bit slow and they played some annoying games with our Groupon, requiring to buy more food than we wanted.

I don't know. Aurora certainly has lots of great Korean restaurants and while this was in perfectly alright, I feel there are better nearby.

Great Food...Great time.   Korean BBQ is meant to be a relaxing, enjoyable time to spend with friends and family.   So - get the BBQ Table - enjoy the delicious food, sip your soju while you laugh and chat with friends.

There were 4 of us.  (Two, my mother and aunt, are Korean and grew up in Korea.)  We ordered the B Course with an additional appetizer of Duk-bok-gi (If you like spicy - try it - you'll like this.  The rice cakes are actually small dumplings in a spicy sauce) along with a bottle of Makgeolli.

First, they brought the Makgeolli and Soju (If you like vodka you should enjoy this.)
Next, they brought the Duk, banchan, house salad and rice.  I grew up eating Korean made by my grandmother, mother and aunts so it was easy to enjoy all, especially because I didn't have to make it..  (If you have never eaten Korean before - start eating as soon as they bring the food - don't wait for the meat.)

Then they brought our meat platter with the dipping sauces.  For this particular platter, we placed some Bulgogi in the Center,  Galbi around the Bulgogi on the open slits and the thinner Meats (Anchang and Cha-dol) on the outer edge of grill.  Flip it over when each side is cooked.  Put it in your dish when it's done and add more to the grill as you make room.

Last, but not least, they brought our Neungmyun.  You get 2 bowls and we ordered one regular and one spicy.  These cold noodles are delicious.

We did have to press the service button when we were ready for the check.  You will hear a door bell sounding ring.  We filled our take home boxes and took our bill to the register.

Our order for 2, fed 4 and will be great for our lunch tomorrow.  Our service was great.  Our food was delicious and the 2 hours of laughter and conversation without television made this a GREAT evening.  (No, we didn't realize it had been 2 hours.)

If you want a quick in and out meal.  Call in an order to go - at least you can enjoy the food :-)

You can not possible leave this restaurant hungry.  We brought home enough food for 3 more meals.  We ordered the barbecue number 2 for 2 people.  Since it consisted entirely of beef  for barbecue we also added a portion of pork.  We had three people.  This, combined with all of the included side dishes of Korean vegetables, covered out table.  The veggies were great, the marinated meats were excellent when grilled.  Service was good and helpful with the menu selections.  You know that you are in a good ethnic restaurant when the majority of the patrons are Korean.  The dining area was clean and casual, not fancy.

For food quality and taste, I give Shin Sa Dong five stars.  We selected "Courses A" which came with house salad, cold noodles or soup, a bunch of different cuts of meat and soju.  It also comes with about 12 different side dishes to try that complement all the meat.  Delicious, delicious, delicious.  Favorite meat was the bulgogi.  We were hesitant to try the ox tounge but it was actually great.
I read in the previous review that the staff really works hard and I will agree that they do, but they must be grossly understaffed because finding someone to refill drinks or get us missing items (we had to specifically point out that we never received the cold noodles and soju) was pretty challenging.  Everyone was very nice and helpful once you found someone to assist.
I will definitely return, although I have to admit that the Living Social deal we had made it much easier on the pocketbook.

For a while after I tried this little place, it had been my stand-by for a good, comforting Korean meal, and a month ago, I would've given it five stars... not so much today.

The Bulgogi was my favorite, as even though it was expensive, it was a formidable meal for two people, and absolutely delicious, but that is no longer the case. While the taste is still there, having ordered take-out from them last night, I was very disappointed that they apparently changed their cooking methods. The bulgogi was nowhere near as tender as it had been in the past, and they cut down their portions considerably... I no longer feel it's a value for the money. There's not even as much sauce with it as there used to be.. how much can they possibly be saving by not giving me more than a few tablespoons of sauce with my dish?

I haven't eaten in, always ordered take-out, since I took the warning from other yelpers that the dine-in experience wasn't so great, and I believe it. The place would appear to be run by a family primarily, and while I think it's great that family businesses like this can succeed, I feel there's only a certain level of service that can be offered while everyone has to keep an eye on an adorable, but somewhat hyper five year old girl running around the place. As this impacted my carry-out experience, I can only imagine it would make dining in a little less than ideal.

I don't want to believe that their food has slipped so much in such a relatively short amount of time, so I will give them one more chance, but for now, I just couldn't give them more than three stars. If these are the new portions/recipes for the price, they're gouging. I really hope that isn't the case.

Their side dishes are delish! Best side dishes of any Korean restaurant I've been to in Colorado. I didn't like my soon tofu soup, it was flavorless and not spicy at all. I did like how they gave me steamed egg in a pot as a side for my soup. My bf also got daen jang gook(soybean paste soup) as a side to his dolsot bibimbap (rice and veggies in a hot black pot). I give four stars because I haven't seen any K restaurants gives those extra sides before

Authentic Korean food indeed!! The only reason I am giving 4 stars (instead of 5) is because no one was checking up on us almost the whole time we were sitting, and as we needed more plates and more napkins, we could not find a single waiter anywhere (they did come eventually..) The food was very delicious and I am definitely coming back here again just for that :))

Well, my star rating actually started at a 2, but ended at a five. I booked our table on OpenTable for 7 - showed at 7:10p.m.  They said they did not know how to use OpenTable and therefore did not have a table ready.  Being that I was STARVING, I was less thank pleased.  After 15 minutes, we were finally sat and I was even LESS pleased.

However, the night turned around quickly. The staff there BUSTS their humps moving around getting all the amazing food ready for the tables.  We ordered the BBQ Feast for three (even though there were two of us - remember how hungry I was)?  Ummmm...I can eat like a horse and I was very hungry - with all that, do NOT order for three if you are only two!  The upside, I just ate some leftovers - yummy!  Anyway, all the sides, meats, salads, etc. started to quickly pour onto our table.  Just when we thought we were getting toward the end, the two largest bacon strips ever created were brought to the table.  The classic moment was at the end - we were ready to roll home when they brought "dessert."  A large bowl of cold noodles in a some type of broth.  Just like any good American, I ate more because it was there - it was very refreshing!

Having recently return from Seoul (where I discovered this omnivore's paradise of food selection), I can say this place is authentic and awesome.  Sarah, the owner, was so much fun and drank a few shots of Soju with us! I wish she would have hooked us up for the wait, but we had fun and ate like kings.

There is NO doubt, I will be back soon.

I've gone back and forth about giving this three stars or two, but in thinking about it, there are too many negatives to overlook.  The food itself was pretty good and had great flavors and assortments to the pickled vegetables and the marinade on the beef was pretty good.  Unfortunately, the cost is pretty high and I'm not sure that paying 20 dollars for a single bul go gi plate can be justified.
Also, the service was very poor.  I think if you speak Korean you could get better service, but I can't guarantee that.  The servers did not check up on us, give refills for water, or explain some of the mystery dishes.
With a lot of different options nearby Shin as dong isn't the best option.

Let me start by saying, I am not very familiar with Korean food.  But, if Shin Sa Dong is an accurate depiction of what traditional Korean food tastes like, then I am not a fan.

The meal started with 10 or so banchan dishes.  I liked 3 of them.  Unfortunately, the server didn't explain the dishes, so I didn't know what I was eating.  The main entree of beef bulgogi was too fatty and the overall price of the dinner was too high.  To top it off, we got poor service even though the restaurant was pretty empty for a Friday night.

On a more positive note, the decor is nice and the seating area is very clean. They have two water features and a separate room for a small group of people.

Walked into the place at 730pm during the busy dinner time and was told that we would get a table for 6 people in 5min.. 2 min later, we were seating and looking at our menus. GREAT service!

With the 6 people, we ordered the set menu for 3 people. It was WAY more than enough and we had a bit extra left over! That's the best part of this place is getting the best bang for your buck. I would come back just for that!

We had about 5 different meats, little dishes, and a bottle of soju in the set menu. YEP! that's right we have Soju w/ the set menus!!

They have a call button if we need to waitress and after you press the button ,  less than 2min later the waitress would come and ready to help service! it was pretty great and they were very fast.

Overall a great experience. If they keep everything the way they are right now, they will be a long time successful business.

This was our first visit for dinner using a $30 Groupon.  Their internet menu was down so I was not able to study their menu.

I had made a reservation using Open Table.  When we arrived, we walked in behind a large group.  We both waited a few minutes to be seated.  I told the gal who approached us that we had a reservation.  She looked on a giant desk calendar with a lot of scribble on it and that's when we should have turned around and left.  She then seated us in a long narrow private section of the restaurant since there were only 2 of us.

The booths and tables of the restaurant looked real nice.  The front desk needed to be cleaned off of all the clutter including the desk calendar.  The restaurant has potential.  Maybe more staff and a hostess.

We were brought complimentary hot tea and a big bowl of salad enough for 4 people.  The salad was fresh with a light soy dressing.  It was the best thing I ate tonight.

Our server took our order and then brought us 11 dishes of banchan (4 kimchee, shredded cabbage with dressing, some kind of root, boiled bean sprouts, cold fried sweet potato, cold pancake, buttery potatoes and glass noodles) and a bowl of rice. That was the last time we saw our server until he pulled the burnt galbi off the grill and said nothing.

Another young server brought out 3 1/2 slices of Galbi and Spicy Chicken Bulgobi on a platter.  He put 3 slices of galbi on the grill and left.  We thought he would come back.  We watched the 3 slices of galbi burn to a char.  The galbi stuck to the grill and it was really hard to removed the charred pieces.  We rang the buzzer at the table, but no one came.

Our server came to pull off the 3 charred slices of galbi and he put one fatty slice on the grill and left.  I thought he was going to come back with 3 new pieces of galbi.  We had told him this was our first time at a Korean BBQ and didn't know what to do.  If he had brought me 3 new slices of Galbi, my experience would have been redeemed and they would have gotten atleast 3 stars for my review.

A female server came and took off the fatty slice of galbi and cut it up with scissors and put it on our little plates.  She then put the Spicy Chicken Bulgogi on the grill and mumbled something.  It sounded like she said she would be back.

My husband stirred the chicken on the grill.  With all the spice, it was difficult to tell what was the chicken and what was the onions.  The chicken was cut into long thin strips.  It was also difficult to tell when the chicken was cooked.  The chicken was fatty with white and dark meat, but it had good flavor.  When my husband was done grilling, there was not enough room on the little plate so he used an empty banchan dish to put the cooked chicken on.

Our rice was cold by the time we ate our entrees.  I had one little fatty piece of galbi for $22.95.  The server should have brought the rice when the meat was ready to come off the grill.

It was awkward grilling the galbi first, then the chicken.  I was done eating by the time my husband started grilling his chicken.  We couldn't put everything on the grill at the same time because the galbi was in long strips and everything wouldn't fit.

I did not like using the same tongs for the raw and cooked meats.  When I grill at home, I always use different tongs.  I'm surprised more people don't get sick from using the same tongs.

Our server brought us the bill and a to go box without asking if we wanted anything thing else.  We didn't ask for the to go box and we didn't need a to go box.  Our whole dining experience took 90 minutes.

Unbelievably bad. Fail on many levels. We went last night, Friday, 12/15/12 for dinner. First, we waited at the hostess stand for several minutes before an employee finally came out and seated us. Nothing more awkward then desperately looking at any person who walks towards you, hoping they work there. Anyway... ordered the Kalbi (prime) and Samgyupsal (sliced pork belly) for table cook. They start by bringing over a dozen different ban chan bowls (appetizers) and green salad. That was the only win of the meal. Korean salad is about the only one I can stomach and the variety of banchan is more then you'll typically see at a restaurant. They bring out the meat and the Samgyupsal looked like it was cut with an axe. Huge, thick cut slices of pork belly. Most places you go, it'll be thin sliced and delicious porkiness. You typically dip it in a vinegar salt mix and that was another failure. Each bowl of that was 90% salt and about a teaspoon of oil. I had to ask for a refill after depleting it in one bite. Which leads me to my next point. We're in the korean "groove," if you will, eating banchan, putting meat onto the grill. Tending to it, turning it, cutting it.... The meat starts to finish and I realize they didn't bring RICE. That is literally like bringing someone at an american restaurant a hamburger with no bun. I am really irritated now. For me, once I start to eat I build momentum and get into it. I was at all stop, finally tracked down a waitress and waited more for her to return with the rice and water that we also ran out of. By the time the rice came the meat was half eaten. any good korean restaurant knows its all about timing and they miserably failed in this regard. As if that all wasn't enough, for one more slap in the face.... the waitress turned the burner off too early and the last "slice" of Samgyup sal and Kalbi did not finish cooking. Worst experience at probably over 50 korean restaurants I've been to in my life.

    The service was slow.

It's been a long time since I've eaten at a Korean BBQ joint so i can't really compare my experience to other places.

This would be my biggest complaint... My friend ordered chicken and I ordered beef.  When they brought out the tray everything was on the same plate - the beef, chicken and vegetables.  The meat was only separated by a couple pieces of lettuce under them.  I do understand that I'm cooking my own food and I opted on this go around because the meat and veggies were served on the same try to cook mine very well done to the point of char.

At home I don't even use the same cutting boards for meat, chicken and veggies.  To avoid cross-contamination these things must be kept separate.

But I can't help but think that those that don't realize that this is a huge health risk may get sick.  I also can't help but wonder if they are serving these on the same platter what goes on in the kitchen before the food even makes it way out to the dining room.

This is one instance where I wish I had just walked out when they put the food down, but I didn't.

We were looking for a new Korean restaurant to try and both are so happy we tried this one. Excellent food, reasonable prices, fabulous staff and very positive energy.

We tried the same dishes that we order at our standard korean restaurant and were blown away. The dishes were so delicious! The temperature was right on and the flavor and spices were perfect.

The restaurant staff was so friendly and very accomodating. We preferred a booth and despite us not barbequing and taking way too much space for just two, they were willing to let us sit at a booth, even though it was pretty packed. They even sent over complimentary baked dumplings, which were amazing!

They are open an hour later than most other Korean reataurants (11 instead of 10) which works really great in our schedule since we tend to eat later.

They are relatively new...just opened this past summer. It used to be a different Korean restaurant at this same location.

We got a yelp 20 for 10 special, but decided to save it for our next trip since we know we will be back there many times. Next time we will bring more family and friends. We found a new favorite Korean restauran!!

Just as a follow up, we have visited here several times more and it was as fabulous as our first visit. We still have not used our yelp deal yet...but hope to go again sometime this week again! :)

Despite what others have said, I found the service to be OK. For a Saturday night, I understand if it's a little slow. I would definitely recommend getting a barbecue table, as once the dishes are out you can continue at your own pace. The servers though a little slow were very sweet. They were a little young, but I did not at all get the impression they "didn't care" about service. Also a mom with a baby tied to her back (I'm assuming owner or cook) came by to ask us how it was.

Food was all fairly good. Exceptional was the galbi. Not an expert on these things, but if I had to describe it, it had a nice fatty flavor in every bite, but it was very evenly distributed. Spicy Samgyap-sal was also good, though not spicy. Kimchee panacke things were OK but I've had better. For the little sides, the scallion kimchee and cabbage kimchee were both good. Most of the sides were some sort of kimchee, I feel like at other places I've been there's been a little more variety, with various bean curd type sides and other mysterious ingredients. We also had steamed dumplings which had a nice flavor, but were a little watery.

All in all it was pretty good. I think if one were to go multiple times and discover what they do well, it could be great.

    Shin Sa Dong Korean BBQ...

PARTY of 14.  I bring my fellow foodie friends to you on Friday Evening, August 31st 2012.  Time for the Dinner was at 18:30hrs.  Thankfully our table was ready for our party.  Time : 18:15hrs, I arrived early as usual so to make sure, the seating arragement and all other minor things needed for our Korean Feast can be run smoothtly for the evening.  We were seated at the upper level SEMI-Enclosed area.  A little too tight for my liking, but oh-well that's how Shin Sa Dong Korean BBQ seating layout was.

We divide our group into two.  One group opt for the BBQ Table (8 of my foodie friends), meaning, they cook their own meats at their own pace.  Another group of us (6 of us), opt for the Kitchen to cook, the various dishes which was offered in the Menu.

    *  Time : 18:18hrs
Given the menu to the rest of my Foodie Group.  Unfortunately, some of us, need to share the Menu coz there arent enough Menu to go around for the group.

    *  Time : 18:48hrs
First Korean Alcoholic beverage was served to my foodie friend who order those Korean Alcoholic beverage.

    *  Time : 18:52hrs
First appetizer of Gun Mandu ($6.95) arrived at our table.

    *  Time: 19:11hrs
The various banchan offered at our table arrived.

Last order of LA-Galbi arrived at 19:40hrs.

In which at this point, some of my foodie friends who opt NOT to cook, either some had finished their main meal, and the last foodie friend, did not received her food until 19:40hrs.

From what I could recall these were the items my foodie friends ordered that evening, which requires the KITCHEN to cook :

    *  2 orders of Japchae
    *  Joo-mul-luk
    *  LA-Galbi

Our server tried to make sure everyone received the food but from the feedback of my foodie friends, they were hoping the service for the food to be ready in the timely manner.

The ones who opt to cook their own food at the BBQ Table, were impressed with the quality of the meats, hence the MEATs do not require any marination.

Personally where they situated us, to be seated at the SEMI-Enclosed area, I feel either the temperature in that room is a little too high for my personal liking aka SUPER HOT, meaning the Air-Conditioner IS NOT working properly that evening.

Next was the food that I ordered.  Perhaps due to miscommunication, they send me the PRIME GALBI ($24.95) instead, though I wanted the order of LA-Galbi.  I also wanted to order the Ojingeo-Bokkeum - Spicy Stir Fry Squid ($14.95), our server mentioned it RAN-OUT that evening so I have to settle for Nakji Bokkeum - Stir Fried Octopus ($15.95) instead.  I received my order at 19:24hrs and 19:25hrs respectively.  My order of Nakji Bokkeum Was NOT SPICY to my taste bud though I specifically order them to make it EXTRA SPICY HOT like how they do for Ojingeo-Bokkeum.  The Octopus was slightly over-cooked, hence it was too chewy.  The PRIME GALBI was not tender at all.  A little tough to chew, and the flavor wasnt there at all.  BIG BUMMER to pay that amount for PRIME GALBI...  *SAD FACE*

So, I so wish, if there are many more server to our table, coz during many times for our dinner, we need to ask for extra cutlery, extra water, extra items for the group etc etc.

There are positives and negatives during our visit that evening.  Nevertheless, I hope Shin Sa Dong Korean BBQ can uphold their service, and quality of the food they offer, and making sure it WONT ran out, during service for dinner for other patrons to enjoy.  Hence this heavy-heartfelt 2 stars review.

The good part was at least Shin Sa Dong allow us to have separate CHECKS for the group but to settle everyone's check do took a little long time then anticipated.  We left Shin Sa Dong Korean BBQ @ 20:45hrs.

Alas, my honeymoon with Shin Sa Dong is over, which is too bad, because this place started out really, really strong.

On my most recent lunch visit, the banchan had been knocked down to about half of what it was previously at lunch or dinner. Furthermore, all of the banchan were the cheap kind (cucumbers, cabbage, etc). Things like eggplant and tofu are gone, and so is the variety.

It also seemed like my bibimbap had an extra cup of rice in it, and a little less meat--again like they were trying to dilute things.

Hopefully an isolated experience, but this does mean that Shin Sa Dong will be out of the regular rotation for a while.

I've been here a few times and try something new pretty much every time (spicy samgyupsal, galbi, yukyejang, soondoobu). The food is a definite constant... constantly flavorful and good quality! The interior of the restaurant is nicer than some of the other Korean restaurants I've been to in the Denver area, although it could look like a dump and I'd still come back for the food. The servers are hit and miss. It definitely seems to be busier during dinner, but it can be hard to grab a server's attention to get a refill on side dishes or to request lettuce wraps for the galbi, etc. I took my mom there for lunch and she absolutely loved the food, but it was again hard to catch a server's attention, even while the place was relatively empty. We pressed the awesome service call button that most Korean restaurants have, but after pressing it three times with no response, we had to stand up and walk closer to the kitchen to grab someone's attention. Although the service could be a little more prompt, the food makes up for it in my opinion and I wouldn't hesitate to refer my friends and family here for great Korean food!

    Oh wow. That was great.

My friend Joe treated me and his nephew to Shin Sa Dong tonight - his favorite Korean BBQ spot in Colorado. This guy knows his food, so I was prepared to eat, and eat well. The place did not disappoint.

We ordered Course C with the hot tofu soup option. The menu guidelines suggest this is good for 3 people, and the 3 of us did put the entire meal away (including the salad & all 11 or so banchan & kimchee bowls). But don't follow that suggestion if you want to do anything but pass out afterwards...

The soup was good & so was the salad. The quality of the meat for the bbq was superb. We did have to experiment with the tongue a bit - it needs to be cooked on the rare side - just enough to sear and warm it up. It's so lean that anything more diminishes the taste. I chalk that up to us not identifying it before cooking it the first time. Second round a little redder and it was melting in our mouths. The tartare was sweet and oh so tender. We saved the marbled short ribs for last, and just savored each bite.

I was expecting one kimchee side at least to have a substantial bite and to be pretty pungent. Tasty, but all very mild. Not enough of an issue to dock a star though - didn't diminish the meal at all.

I do not question the experiences of other reviewers, but I can say that our service was impeccable. Very attentive and very fast (maybe because it was Monday & the place was only 40% full?).

Side Note: As we discussed at dinner, this type of meal at this type of restaurant is meant to be enjoyed slowly - for the communal (table) experience. You share cooking, seasoning, serving, drinking the soju and sharing a beer or two. You're supposed to sit with friends new and old, put your phones away and be present with each other and with the meal. We spent 3 hours at the table cooking, eating, talking, sipping the Hites we ordered one small bottle at a time split into three glasses. We talked life, women, friends, journalism, art, sports, and - this being an election week - politics. If you have the time, do it right.

Price is great, especially for the quality of the food. Entire experience was rewarding. Now - someone please roll me to bed.

Excellent food but terrible service. The servers were kind but don't seem to have much training.  Have been there several times, and had the same super slow neglected service.  Took 15min for taking orders, forgot my orders and everything took  soooo long for them to bring out....  Food was good but hesitant to rush back soon!

Great Korean BBQ with an updated decor from when it was Korea House. We did have to ask for lettuce to go with our Kalbi, no bean paste served & they were out of white wine on a Friday at 4:00 but still a fan!

I hate to spoil my own ROTD for Shin Sa Dong, but I feel an obligation to do it.  The last two times we went there, we had awful, want-to-punch-your-server-in-the-face service, and the restaurant does not seem to want to do anything about it.  They have these young Korean kids who apparently have no training in service, don't seem to care, and don't have any idea how to deal with an unhappy customer except to dodge you for the rest of the evening.  The first bad experience:  we took two good friends to Shin Sa Dong to introduce them to their wonderful food.  For an hour, we waited while our server flitted about with no apparent understanding of what we he was doing.  It took a half hour to take our order and then another hour to get served.  We had to ask for the banchan to come out repeatedly.  The tables around us were having the same issues, and everyone was flagging the waiters every time they stepped on the floor, so they just hid back in the kitchen.   When we complained about the long delays, our waiter had a smirk on this face and basically shrugged his shoulders and said that they were short-handed--on a Thursday night.   We registered our disapproval with the manager, and he basically gave us the same reaction.   Our friends said they were never coming back there again.

After waiting about a month, we went back there by ourselves over the weekend to give them a second chance.  Same issues all over again, on very quiet Saturday lunch time.   Unbelievable.  This time, my wife was fed up and complained to the waitress about the inexcusable delay.  The waitress smiled nervously, and looked off into the middle distance, perhaps trying to wish herself to be transported away to some other dimension.    She didn't say a word, no apology, nothing, just put the food down and scooted away.   We paid our bill and left; this time, there was no manager or host at the door to even leave feedback with.

This place's service is deteriorating by the day, and if they don't get their act together, people are going to stop going there.  Sad, because their food is really very good.

I believe I have found my Korean BBQ mecca!

This place offers roomy seating, great service, and the best kimchee I've tasted in Colorado.  They aren't stingy with the banchan and one entree portion can easily serve two people.  The price is comparable with other Korean barbecue restaurants in the area, but the quality of food here is a better deal.  Two barbecue entrees, an order of chapchae, an order of mandu, and two non-alcoholic beverages came out to approximately $50.00 (not including tip).  That's a pretty good deal since you get enough food to feed at least 6 people.

Besides the kimchee, another dish they impressed me with was their chapchae.  Most places struggle to get the noodles to the right consistency and typically overcook them, leaving you with a plate of mush.  Shin Sa Dong has mastered the art of cooking the noodles to soft, but still slightly chewy.  Perfect!

To enhance your cooking and eating experience, they go out of their way to change out your barbecue grill plates often so you avoid getting charred bits in your meal.  Shin Sa Dong is the only place I know that cares about this issue.   I give this place an A++ and will be back for sure!

Great food.  The staff was very helpful with the meat selections.  There was so much to choose from.

Delicious and inexpensive lunch. Always a good sign when there's only one or two non asians, and the hostess greeted customers in Korean. Chicken Bulgogi was spot on and a healthy sized portion for lunch, and the 8 or 9 little side condiments (banchan) were all pretty tasty as well. Service was polite and efficient.

With a somewhat limited knowledge of Korean food, a buddy and I stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed.  The food was excellent and the service was to match.

We decided to go with a KBBQ pre-set course which served two people for $55.  This was easily enough food to serve four people.  Our server who was incredibly friendly and welcoming took the reigns and picked a soup and salad for us, as well as our Korean side dishes.  Everything was excellent.  So much beef that we ended up taking a huge box of left overs with us.  Oh, be sure and order a Korean Pancake - it was like a delicious little veggie omelette.

Can I compare Shin Sa Dong with other Korean restaurants in town?  Not really, as I've only had KBBQ one other time.  What I can do is recommend the quality of beef and vegetables and tell you that the service and experience was definitely worth a return visit.  Great food and great service!

If mama loves it it's a good one.

My mom has high standards for food.  It must be cheap and it must be delicious.  Wow!  That's not easy to find.   Well... Shin Sa Dong is not cheap but reasonable in price because of all of the great side dishes and quality meats you get.

The side dishes weren't the typical basic Kimchi and pickled cucumbers... no no.  Some good variety of fish and even Craw Kimchi!

We ordered the combination for 3 people.  It came with ten different items from a salad to 6 or 7 different meats.  All the meats showed the signs super freshness.  The one legged cow out front suggested that. j/k

One dish that was nice was the steak tar tar.... I did notice the it had been frozen... Still super delicious.

We also ordered a squid bbq dish.  I heard it described to me as crunchy, sweet, and spicy.  All true.

If you like Korean BBQ, I think you will be hard pressed to find another one with such a good menu.

The interior of this building has been remodeled, so its ambiance has improved.  The hostess and servers are young (not always the case with Korean restaurants), polite, and attentive.

They give a huge selection of banchan like Seoul BBQ, but I will have to say the latter is tastier.  We ordered the chicken dolsot bibimbop, sekimi nengmyun, and suhkho seulongtang, as well as got a kalbitang to-go.  All dishes were great, but I do gripe about their lack of banchan selection with the to-go meal.  They just gave kimchi, radish kimchi, and 2 other banchan.  Other restaurants usually give 4-5 choices excluding kimchi/radish kimchi.

Overall, I'm happy there's another option for Korean food in this area and will be back to try their BBQ!

The one good aspect of this place is the servers. They're Very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic individuals. I believe the manager or owner asked us how the food was which shows me he cares about the business not like some other Korean restaurants I've eaten here in Aurora. The inside atmosphere is well lit the decor is nice and it was very crowded! When they brought out our food, they literally brought out 20 different side dishes! I can't say the food is that great... I've had a lot better and I'm VERY picky when it comes to Korean food because I only eat the best Korean food out there, especially coming back from Korea.

This place is far better then that place on dartmouth 'The House Korean BBQ'. I'd give it 4 stars if the food taste better (or at least the food ordered/tried didn't taste right?) but other then that I would come back again and give it another go. Who knows probably edit this and give it 4 stars next time?

Shin Sa Dong is just a new name (since they switched the owner). The building is the same pretty and spacious place in the inside. The most impressive thing is that they give you at least 15 banchan each meal (I am not sure for parties of less than three people). They even give you that much if you order some non-rice dish like naengmyun.

According to my korean parents the seulnongtang and mul naengmyun are especially good. I would agree with the mul naengmyun part: those cold noodles are so delicious and refreshing especially living in this horrid hot weather. Plus, they have an option to enjoy a bunch of BBQ in a course-meal style (which will stuff you until you can't no more).

This place rocks! And they offer kick ass banchan (the complimentary small dishes you get with your meal). One of the banchan that I almost never see restaurants serve in the US is the spicy raw crab. Shin Sa Dong serves it! I love that stuff! They're kimchi and radish kimchi weren't fresh and instead were rich in flavor (which is a great sign, it should be nicely fermented and preserved in its own sourness). I feel like most restaurants around here serve newer kimchi that hasn't had time to ferment properly.

I didn't order BBQ so I can't say much until I try it next time but the japchae (stirfried sweet potato starch noodles) we ordered were really good. They didn't overcook the noodles which was great. The yukhoe (Korean style steak tartar) was plentiful, fresh and flavorful...although I wanted a little more Asian pear with it. My boyfriend liked his salted grilled mackarel. I didn't think the fish tasted super fresh but he liked it that way haha...

I can't wait to go back and eat BBQ and try more dishes! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet. If this place has good BBQ, it's going to be my new go-to place in Aurora. I know a lot of people go straight for the Korean BBQ but venture out and try other dishes. Something tells me that Shin Sa Dong does other dishes right.

Another Korean restaurant that serves more than 2-3 side dishes! I love restaurants that have many side dishes and they were actually yummy too :)

Definitely get the chicken dohl sot bibimbap. omg, it was delicious. The nang myun was also decent - I liked the soup, but I've had better noodles.  The yuk gae jang was also pretty delicious.

Excited to have another option in the area!

Opened June 1st. 2012 and they are already very busy.  it was packed around 12. Lunch menu was pricey compare to other Korean restaurants around.  If you are short of time, tell the wait staff and order something simple.

They are serving the usual Korean line up but more extensive.  Food tasted fresh, unique in a good way. Most lunch items were around $10 and portions were pretty adequate.  The side dishes that came out were served on little cute dish.  They used expensive ingredients like crabs (GyeJang) and fish (HongAhWhe).  I'm sure you can always ask for more of our favorites.

Considering it's there1st week, it will do.  Hope time will fix glitches and support staff trained better.  Will definitely return in near future.
