The Acapulco (I-could-puke-o) Joe's of Chinese food.  I haven't eaten at this place in nearly 20 years, but it sounds like it really hasn't changed over time.  If I ever need to remind myself just how bad Chinese food (or food-like substances in general) can be; or to recalibrate my rating scale against an "absolute zero" standard - this is the place to go.  Mystery "meat" that is simultaneously rubbery, mushy, gristly and greasy - a wonder of materials science technology.

Everything you'd expect from your standard cheap Chinese joint:

-food is ready in 10 minutes (that's how you know it's fresh.... ;)
    -delivery available ($12 minimum)
-for a pile of pocket change you can feed 5 people
-my standard order is a pint of wonton soup - - every time. And, I'll add, that I guiltlessly pile on the fried wontons.
-they've never messed up our orders and we've had many o' orders run through their
    phone
-Don't expect to feel good about yourself after this meal.
    -generous portions: tomorrow's lunch
-You wouldn't go into McDonald's expecting a St.Elmo steak in place of your burger, Similarly, China King doesn't claim to be healthy or fancy. So, don't go in expecting anything more than cheap and fast Chinese food. With these factors in mind, I easily give them four stars.

This place certainly has some extreme reviews so here's my attempt to add a little order to the chaos:

China King is by no means gourmet Chinese food.  If you are looking for more upscale Chinese cuisine, don't even step foot in the door here.  Just go down to Fountain Square and check out Naisa.

That being said, China King is a good choice when you are sitting at home and your only motivation for breaking your slothenly ways is to go pick up some comforting food for your date with the tv and couch (and sweatpants) later that evening.

China King is a run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout joint.  You are not going to be overly impressed so don't set your expectations too high.  It does its job - no more, no less.  Try the General Tso's combo (fried rice, broccoli, and egg roll included).  It's a good choice for a rainy night to accompany a movie at home.

Lastly, there are a few tables to eat here but the environment isn't very welcoming.  I'd make sure your order is to-go.  Delivery is offered as well.
