I will never bring my $ there. I understand it's a Hispanic establishment that serves latin food, but c'mon..I had an extremely hard time telling the lady what I wanted and none of them knew english. They were extremely rude and very unpleasant to deal with. The food isn't all that either, it was EXTREMELY salty and inedible. If you've never came in and tried their food..good for you.
Review Source:Visited this restaurant a few weeks and I will never return again. Overall this restaurant has potential as the food was good, however the service was awful. The women behind the counter are extremely rude , seem to hate their job, and act like they are doing you a favor by serving you food! I am a paying customer and  I expect to walk into a restaurant & be treated with respect. Â
Quality service is something that this establishment lacks. The owners of Cibao need to replace the sucky snobs behind the counter & hire friendly smiling workers.
I was seriously craving a good Spanish steak and found it here. The food is very flavorful and the portions are huge. Honestly, my order was really enough for two people. The prices made me think it was the1990s again. There are lots of different options. The workers wear hairnets and gloves and that is always a good thing. I almost didn't go here based on some of the reviews saying that the workers don't treat everyone the same. I'm not Spanish and they were very nice to me. Did they bend over and kiss my bottom? No. Not that I want them to ... but the owner did have the cook make me a fresh steak since they didn't have any out in front. I'd say that's good service, wouldn't you? We'll be back for sure. One of the best options in Bayonne.
Review Source:What a waste of time! Â The staff basically refused to serve us, and were blatantly racist. Â They helped the Hispanic gentleman behind us in line FIRST, and then after waiting 15 minutes to be served, they STOPPED preparing our plates to serve someone else. Â They literally brushed us off. Â After waiting and waiting and waiting, then being put aside and completely disrespected, we walked out. Â The food may have been good, but I have know way of knowing.

Not only do you have to wait on a line like at a school cafeteria but you have to deal with the mean lunch ladies aka their waitress.
I never had such snobby wait staff, they really think they are to good to help you. I really liked the food but totally not worth their attitude.
You know it's good food when you walk in and it's filled with people from all backgrounds. I've tried a little bit of everything and it's all been great! You get A LOT of food for little money. Oh yeah, there's a bar in the back room and I guess they serve liquor there that you can take into the dining area but I've never ventured back there. The service could be a little better but hey, it's worth the wait.
Review Source:So I was looking for a good restaurant with good food in Bayonne, and was told to go to this place by my coworker. I was just tired to eating Mona Lisa. I felt like it was the only place with good food in Bayonne.
Anyway, we went, and OMG... the food is wonderful & CHEAT!! My husband had the Gratinated Potatoes with Grill Chicken... can you say Yummy!!! I had Pigeon Peas & rice with grill chicken.. man was that rice good. My boys had the baked ziti with 1/2 of Rotisserie chicken which was very good. Nice and flavored and very crispy. They give you a lot of food for you money. For a 1/2 Rotisserie chicken it's only $4.00 and a whole is $7.00. A plate of food can run you from $6-8 which is really good when you're on a budget. They also have a vary of lunch specials (grill chicken, pepper steak, beef stew, roast pork, BBQ ribs, ect, ect) and it only cost $5.00 and it comes with one side. The hours are from 11am-3pm. They also serve breakfast, haven't tried it yet. But I am for sure a fan of this place. Inside is very big, with a nice sitting area, and flat screen TV and it is very clean. Everyone there are friendly. This will be my new place to eat.... buy buy Mona Lisa.. Hello... Cibao!

If you're looking for good, Spanish (well, Dominican) home-cooked meals, this is the place. It's cafeteria-style but don't let that put you off.
You can get a wide variety of great good here. The rotisserie chicken is fresh and flavorful, the rice choices are very good, and the tilapia was a nice surprise. My son had the king fish and loved it. My husband enjoyed the roast pork, and said he'd definitely recommend a return visit. A full meal will cost you approximately 7.95, which is great when you're on a budget.
If you're looking for a quick snack, the empanadas are only 1.00 each and are chock full of chicken or beef. My guilty pleasure is to order the chicharrones, which are really great. They have a nice assortment of Spanish sodas, too. The restaurant recently opened a bar in the back, but it's separate from the restaurant so that you can definitely bring the kiddies.
I decided to order food for a party this past Sunday, and everything was delicious, inexpensive and delivered hot and on time. I couldn't ask for more!
