They have great food, good service and a friendly staff.  The restaurant area is completely sound proof from the bar which has 6+ televisions with various types of sports playing at any given time. I always have a great experience when I go wether it's busy or slow.

They have really good fish and chips. I personally love their fried calamari because it's seasoned and comes with chipotle/horseradish sauce.

Great food, great atmosphere. I highly recommend the french onion soup here. My favorite thing about this place is the backyard area. It's nice nowadays to be able to go out with friends, grab a few brewskis and smoke a cigar while catching the evening's sports games. Good time can be had here every night of the week. Special mention to come here during holidays as the place definitely takes it up a notch on those occasions (st patrick's day especially).

Friendly irish bar with incredible wings and nice clientele. Have had some family party's there as well and everyone was pleased with their meal!

Best wings in the city. Great beer selection. Excellent people who work there. Excellent place to watch a game. Can't ask for anything more in a neighborhood bar.

Had the Irish breakfast for lunch Friday. Toast cold but overall OK. Other members of party satisfied with what they had.

We had a private wedding party here.  I give this place a mixed review.  It's not bad but it's nothing great either.

The people working the rooms obviously don't want to be here as they were all rather unhelpful and standoff-ish. I guess it just sucks to work while watching everyone else have fun.  But they should try to have a more positive attitude toward the guests and each other. The manager here was kind of trite and wasn't particularly friendly either.

However the food was pretty good and they had lots of wine and beer, although nothing fancy in the beer department.

I'll give it four stars because there's no idiots standing outside and the decor is nice.

It is a bit loud but the beer is good and it's not many fights whatsoever.

    Good ambience for the area.

I give them only 4 stars because I came here with a large group and didn't get the full on experience that I would have gotten had I come here with a smaller group.

Came here on Saturday for a birthday dinner and was very pleased. I hadn't even known this place existed, but I would most definitely come back. My boyfriend and I ordered the Kung Pao Thai Calamari, super tasty! I'm a huge fan of sweet chili sauce with calamari and that is exactly what we got. Would highly reccommend. My guy ordered the Fish and Chips, which were really yummy and the plate was a very generous size. I ordered the stuffed shrimp which I was very happy about. It was a good portion and very tasty.

The server was very friendly, and PATIENT. Our group was there for 3 hours and he was super nice.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would coem back. Just be forwarned that if you have a bday here and bring your own cake, the charge is $1 per plate (person).

This is a review on the private party room. I am writing this while I am here now. Got here at 2 for a private party in the event room. . But before I get into my negative review, I want to mention the positives: very clean, and well designed layout. This place has great potential.
Connolly's Corner is a shining example of getting allot of elements right...location, design, cleanliness..etc. and failing at the most important, crucial aspect,(in my opinion anyway) of owning a bar/restaurant: Customer Service.
The owner of Conolly's Corner decided to staff their bar with a reactive, instead of a proactive waitstaff. The staff is forgetful, could-care-less-about-you, do not make any eye contact, mumble when speaking, and could be found hanging out near the coat rack hoping no one asks them for anything.
2:30 flagged a waitress down and asked for a Blue Moon. She did not even know if they had it. She would check. (Or at least, I think that is what she said) How do you, as a waitress of a bar, not know what is on tap? Unless it is your first day...you should know the basics.
2:50 Finally got the Blue Moon. Cold, served with a lemon. Well done. However,if she had asked me if I wanted a drink instead of me having to flag her down, a tip would have been included. I happen to be a big tipper and I'm the type of consumer willing to pay extra for excellent customer service because it is so rare these days.
3:20 Need another Blue Moon. Where is that waitress?
3:30 Just happened to spot the waitress on my way to bathroom. I asked for another Blue Moon.
    3:45 Where is that waitress?
3:50 Saw said waitress behind the buffet table. No Blue Moon for me.
4:15 Waitstaff had to take time out from poorly serving the guests to ask every table if they drove a green car. Why? Connolly's Corner has a parking lot (sort of) across the street. However, when you pull all the way in, you could potentially be blocked in by another customer or worse blocked in by someone patronizing the other stores in the area. I enjoyed watching a man enter a vehicle that was not his, attempt to put it in reverse, could not get it out of gear then slam the door (remember... not his car) in frustration. I feel his pain. Who needs to come out to a bar only to discover you can't leave because someone shopping somewhere in Queens blocked you in.

6:00 The rest of the evening went fairly well mostly because I stopped caring.

I get the impression that if you are not a regular, you get sub-par service. I hope the bar/ restaurant side of the house is alot better.

If it wasn't for the forgetful staff, Connolly's Corner would be perfect.

We had my husband's 40th birthday here a few weeks ago, and had about 30 guests. We got appetizers, an entree of choice, all alcohol, and coffee or tea (we brought our own cake). The food was outstanding, and the service was excellent!

I just came home from Thanksgiving dinner from here and was horribly disappointed. I have eaten here before on Thanksgiving and other time and loved it, but tonight (and it was THANKSGIVING!) the food was horrible. They must of changed chefs/owners because everything was different from the bread basket forward. The portions are smaller and the food tastes like it has tons of preservatives and MSG in it. It was SO salty. The turkey was dry, tasted burnt, the potatoes were mushy, and the desserts were uneatable. The pumpkin pie did not taste like pumpkin, but more like sour nutmeg lump of  custard-whatever that would taste like. The cheesecake was more of a sour creme base and the crab cake appetizer was overly bready and fried. The only tasty piece of food the whole night was the brown bread in the bread basket-even if it was just a sliver. AVOID eating here. Have a beer at the bar if you want, but eat at the diner down the bock where the food is 100% better-AND IT's A DINER IN QUEENS.

I only went to Connollys to catch a Jets game bc my beloved O'Neils is gone.  For what it is (bar with TV's) it serves its purpose.
Positives:  clean, decent prices, a lot of TV's, outdoor garden, nice decor
Negatives:  forgetful wait staff, terrible food, just generally un freindly atmosphere

I have been here for dinner and for a shower and the food is terrible!!!

Another great place for good draft beers and their food is fabulous. They also have a backyard with cafe tables and plenty of seating. They're music can be a little too loud at night though.

This review is about the restaurant section.
We went there Tuesday night. The place was very lovely, neat and cosy. We were actually the only visitors in the restaurant at around 9pm. So, the waitress was nice and attentive. The food was tasty and the portions are quite big, so one entree is more than enough to get full. Great quality for the price. We spent a very peaceful night, nothing supernatural. We will most probably come back.

I have been here for the bar portion and restaurant portion and both don't disappoint. Plenty of TVs to go around which is great because there are many different angles you can sit - bar stools, tables in the middle of the bar and booths. The food here is also very good. My most recent visit consisted of a late night visit on Tuesday night for the MLB All Star Game. My sister ordered stuffed shrimp that came with rice and veggies. One word: delicious!

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant pub. We attended a party in the private party room. It was clean, nicely decorated, and the food was delicious. The staff was attentive and sincere. We ate Shephards Pie, penne pasta, seafood mix in a red sauce, and chicken francais. The red sauce was delicious - everything we tasted was delicious. Families are made to feel welcome. I would definitely go again.

Connolly's Corner is a great place to get a burger and hang out, but those ribs are NOWHERE NEAR the best in Queens.  Still, decent food and good service make it worth visiting.

A little better than average pub food service is good. Bar crowd is not my type but dining room is completely separate.  you wont feel rushed and can have a nice enjoyable meal

Midville Dodgers went there for their baseball dinner. They set up a large area in the back for the 17 of us. We had a great time. I had the ribs. On the menu it says that they are the "best ribs in Queens" I have to say they are one of the best that I've had. I prefer a dry rub but these were not messy bc they practically fell off the bone. The coselaw was amazing. The service was great considering we had 17 people. I definitely want to go back.

went here for a birthday dinner on a Sunday. there were five of us and although the waitress took our orders promptly, the food took forever to come out - despite the fact that it was not very busy. the food was a mixed bag and rather overpriced given that its simple pub food.

    our table ordered:
spinach dip : tasty & cheesy. croutons were not a good accompaniment though. go with the nachos as i am sure they would be better.
garlic bread : terrible. worst i've ever had actually.
fish & chips : fantastic. actually tasted fresh & well prepared.
left coast salad : decent, but nothing special. appetite was ruined at this point though because of...
fried mushrooms : not only obviously frozen, but over fried/kinda burnt. and there was an uninvited guest.

a bug crawled out from under the lettuce with the mushroom app. the waitress looking horrified yet claimed that it "must have flown onto the plate" & offered us drink on the house. we declined. she did not indicate whether or not we had to pay for the dish & we had to ASK her if we would be charged.

any first visit with this occurrence will obviously be scarring & we will certainly not be returning here.

Good food(for a bar) and good drinks just pricing is a bit steep unless you come on one of the nights with the specials. Iffy crowd at times but very attentive staff.
    Definitely give Connolys a try

I ordered the chicken sandwich and sweet potato Fry's. The chicken was fantastic and well cooked. The spices on the chicken was like a party in my mouth. My hotel had an add for Connolly's Corner, mentioning Monday's are $.25 wing night. When I got there, I found out my hotels add was really-really old. (Hotel's fault for not updating.)

Dinner was a bit pricey, but then again - I'm in New York. Everything is expensive here. ;-)

Tip: I did not realize this when parking, but there is a private parking lot across the street. It looks like a foreclosed auto garage, but is really Connolly's parking.

The food was good, portions were just right for me.  I think it would be on the small side for most people.  The service was ok.  My friend got the special menu from the day before and ended up with something she didn't want.  They were nice to offer to change it but give us the right menu the first time!

My fav neighborhood bar...GREAT food- the ribs are out of this world, and the drinks r fine too- the bartenders are irish(as expected) and sometimes talk too fast for me hehe, but very friendly non the less.
They have introduced me to my fav drink- the thunderstorm, i m still a fan.
overall great place, very relaxed and casual and the food is great for a bar.
a must if you are in the area.

Since no one has written anything here in a awhile, I wanted to say I went to Connolly's last night for dinner. I was in a mood for a burger and had a GREAT burger with fabulous sweet potato fries.  They have a new menu and the next time I go in I will have something new.  The staff was freindly and the service was excellent. I am so glad Connolly's is in my neighborhood - but it would be worth the drive if it wasn't.

Great looking place with plenty of room in the bar area or in the dinning area. It was too cold for the outdoor area but I will definately be a regular. The food was great and the staff was super friendly. Love the ribs and wings. I have a new hangout!

Went here last night for a birthday get together. It was really cool surprisingly, i ended up being in the bar area which was great cause we watched a football game, chilled and talked over some wine and beers. All in all it's a nice spot with different crowds and the food was really good. I'm usually not a pub person but this spot was very clean and i liked that. There is even outdoor seating which is nice to chill and watch the game with some friends.

We went on a Monday night specifically for the garden and the movie (monday nights).  We were hungry, had a four year old (who apparently has one to many starbucks and is a night owl) and wanted to try it.

Overall for the above criteria it worked.  It's pub food, not great pub food, but okay.  Husband had chix wings (but they were breaded, we don't like the breaded kind) and sweet spicy (we are spicy people, think atomic wings), followed by shepherd's pie (he said, too many peas).   I had the traditional what women order Grilled chicken cesaer, kid had chix fingers
for dessert we all split warm apples and ice cream.

I really like the idea of a movie, but dont think you are going to hear it.  Between the horrible sound system and the noisy central air thingy, you really can't hear... but the movie this time was Ocean's 13 and while the movie stunk, Brad and George (and Al) as dinner guests....priceless.

check it out if your on Grand Avenue.

My wife and I have passed Connoly's many times after the renovation but never stopped . We decided one night to give them a try. Needless to say we have now become regulars. I don't know how one reviewer said the food is terrible (must have been a bad night in the kitchen) but my family has only complained once about their meal (spare ribs were dry) Either Matt and Pat (the owners)can found making the rounds to make sure everyone's meal is ok. On the weekends it can get crowded and a bit loud. Best time to go is during the week. My family and I went there last evening around 6:45. There were only 4 other people there. Oh yeah, be sure to check out the specials (always changes)  Try the RIBS, they are excellent. If you do happen to go tell them the RIB FAMILY sent you. Enjoy

After some beautiful renovations, Connolly's Corner has become a really great place to spend a night with friends. The bar is nice and big, with plenty of room to park it and chill.

The outdoor garden is an unexpected lil' treat, which is the place to go for 'movies on the bricks' on summer Monday's.

The restaurant is getting better. Typical irish-American fare (burgers, fish and chips) with a few surprised (nice fish dishes and such). The desserts are nothing special, however. A bummer for a sweets lover like me.

Formerly called Matchmakers. Connolly's changed its image from a rowdy bar that hosted soccer matches to a family place where your family can come for a nice dinner in their lovely dining hall or still watch a game in the bar. Still loud but not welcomes everybody. Unfortunately the food is terrible. There is no love in the preparing of their meals.
