November 16 th 2012 Â were came here with some friends to try out this Restraunt Â
It's a family owned Restraunt. They have a great selection of wines , Â the service was great, I believe the owner was at the Restraunt , he was giving us the run down about all the different wines. Â The wait staff was very friendly and helpful as to what choice of food to order. There was so much food per person , everyone was taking home 1/2 there meal. Enought for another dinner or lunch
I really like these family owned businesses  seating is about 30 people so come early so you get in and don't have to wait  We'll be coming back with some of our friends next time to interduce the to some of the best Italian food around the fortladerdale area.
LOVE this place - everything on the menu is so delish (pizza, lasagna, italian sammy). Â Items on the menu are well priced as the portions are big. Â There's also a little deli w/ meat and selection of fantastic cheeses for purchase. Â They also do pizza slices for lunch - if you're strapped for time and want to just grab & go.
Review Source:Rude staff. Wrote a review on another site which goes into detail. We were going to eat there but since they were so rude, decided we would spend our hard-earned money where it was appreciated. Too cramped and too much crap stored everywhere. Would give it negative stars if I could. Steer clear!
Review Source:stopped by for lunch here. hidden within a plaza had a pizza special for $5.99 for two huge slices of cheese pizza and a soda. The slices where out of this world large i never seen before. Very filling and good cheese on the pizza. Place is small and was empty when i went but i good definitely see this place packed during more reasonable hours one would eat. I would like to try out another kind of pizza and see what's it all about. They also have a small deli inside and wines for purchase.
The owner mentioned they have wine tasting every other Saturday from 7-10pm for $20 with little food apps to accompany the 7-9 wines you will taste which sounds like a deal I would like a try.
GREAT pizza. Â Loved the crisp bacon and crust. Â They are a bit much in price ($21 a pie) Â but I guess you have to pay for quality. Â We got take out, but I was looking at the dishes people ordered and I cannot wait to go back to try other things. Â
And to the guy from London who rated this place. Â Why would you rate a place when you did not even go in? Â The next time you ar ein town give me a yelp and we will go there with you and then you can rate it.
We found this place when leaving Fort Lauderdale pier. I was craving pizza and Will was losing patience with my indecisiveness.
Yelp to the rescue!!!! This place came up as top result for pizza and was only a few blocks away. At first glance it doesn't look like much but I am glad we gave it a shot.
We each had a slice of cheese and 1 slice was enough to satisfy even our appetites. The pizza was perfect, so thin, crispy, and cheesy. I think we paid $5 for 2 slices.
The service wasn't great; I think these people thought they were still in NY.
But other than that, we can't wait to go back and try the rest of the food this little family joint has to offer.
Located on the south side of Commercial Boulevard in Lauderdale by the Sea, Corelli's offers a menu of Italian delights, service with a smile, and pizzas that please. Â We tried the fried ravioli appetizer and they were okay. Â My dining companion and fellow Yelper said they tasted as though they had been cooked in old oil. Next, our sausage-onion-peppers pizza pie was absolutely delicious! Â The toppings were plentiful, the cheese cheesy, and the flavors could only be further complimented by a sprinkle of spicy red pepper and grated parmesean cheese (available at your table). Â A dining tip: ask for a bit of olive oil to dip your crust in - and sprinkle the oil with a bit of oregano or basil - it's delicious. Too full for dessert, we grabbed the check and were on our way. We would definitely order from Corelli's again and we recommend you try them too. Yelp on Yelpers.
Review Source:Best sicilian slice in Fl, but their regular slice is too cheesy and greasy...Order the sicilian at least an hr in advance so he can prepare and cook the dough, and the crust comes out buttery and almost donut like, maybe the best sicilian i've had..ask for a side of the homemade sauce to pour on top and its one of the greatest square slices you'll eat
After the great first impression i had to go back. I ordered a ton of food to eat here along with a pizza to take home, all off of the strength of the first visit.
In preparation of the drastically revised review of this place I have to say I love the owners and i'm sorry but id much rather spend a few more bucks and get a far superior chicken parm at Solitas or Ill Gabbianos, its like comparing Godfather part 1 to Godfather part 3, most of the same ingredients but just one is much much better.
The garlic rolls were amazing once again and great to eat with the salad.
My girlfriend ordered the veal parm and it was subpar because of the amount of grease and the fact that it was almost undercooked.
The chicken parm was piping hot when served but it too seemed a little undercooked and there was not enough cheese, and there were pieces of fat to bite off while eating, just not a real good look.
I also had the potato gnocchi, they also offer cheese gnocchi but neither are on the menu and i had to ask the owner. The gnocchi was freshly made and good but it was nothing special, however part of that was my fault because i shouldve ordered it with red sauce and not a la vodka. I wouldnt be surprised if the a la vodka was store bought. It was not even close to as good as their homemade red.
The pizza here is slightly above average at best, i would try the sicilian but i doubt i would order a regular pie again. There's nothing that separates it from the standard Florida "NY" pizza. Its hard to get a good thin crust pie outside of a coal fire place.
I would still definitely call this a good italian restaurant, but nowhere in the vicinity of great. I suggest you try this place if you live close, are craving homemade italian, and have never experienced the chicken parm at solitas or ill gabbys.
Pizza was amazing! plenty of high quality toppings, cheese and good crust. When I am craving pizza this is where I will go. The Sicilian pizza dough is made fresh to order so you have to give it 45 mins to rise before it can go into the oven. Be sure to call ahead to order it if you will be dining in. I did not have the time to wait for it but I will definitely be going back for this soon!
Review Source:This review is for the PIZZA ONLY!
Not sure what all the hype surrounding the pizza is all about, but here are my initial findings:
crust was paper thin, to the point that it didn't hold the weight of the sauce and the cheese.
Cheese: definitely sub-par, way to much oil secretion on the surface.
Sauce: was actually perfect. Â Too bad the rest of the ingredients on the slice were sub par. Â
Price: Â Definitely over priced at $3 a slice
That being said, I always like to give establishments the benefit of the doubt and will be back to try the food.
Patronized this place at the endorsement of another Yelper. The place was tiny, quaint, and cozy. I had antipasta salad (for two) and a large (18") chicken parm pizza. We had simply soft drinks, but noticed there was an extensive wine selection. The staff was warm and welcoming.
I will definitely be back!
This place is five stars for a different reason than some amazing fancy upscale places are five stars.
-Family run & extremely friendly service
-Excellent, home made Italian cooking
-Good value / large portions
I had an italian wedding soup which is one of the best I have ever had and a veal parmesan sandwich for lunch. Wayyy too much food so I took the rest home, but man it was good. I could have just had the soup (large bowl) and the garlic rolls they serve and been full. Delicious.
I will be back soon with an appetite!
Found this amazing place by accident, have been there four times since and then again with my parents. Where to start, the food, truly amazing I have yet to have a bad dish either dinner or lunch.
Lunch I can suggest the pizza sandwich, what is first the sandwich is great and only available at lunch, second is that its not available at dinner because you will have so much left you can continue to eat your sandwich at dinner time, hell you can start it at lunch and try to finish it by dinner.
Dinner Carbonara is amazing ( I ask to leave out mushrooms and they say no worries ) , tour of italy gets you a little of this and a little of that. Or lasagna , don't forget to save room for Zepolis ( ask them to fill them with cannoli filling ) and be sure to save room for lunch, because it is coming home with you. The salad dressing also, be sure to buy a bottle to go.
Run don't walk to this place to this place, easy on the pockets heavy on the takeout. Nothing better then a place that has great food and great portions, if your not going to eat the to go food, box it up and leave it with a less fortunate person..
OMG, the best find I have ever unearthed. Â This hidden gem has the best Italian food I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. Â I am a pizzaholic and they're pizza is the best I have ever had hands down.....I wanted to stab every dish floating by with my fork and taste it.......Friendly, family atmosphere, quaint little neighborhood spot......I can't wait to try everything on the menu at least once......
Review Source:My family and I went there for lunch after our cruise. Â We couldn't resist after seeing all the raving reviews. Â Sure enough we were not disappointed.
The place is located in a tiny strip mall, not much to look at from the outside. Â But the minute we walked in, the owners welcomed us warmly. Â We ordered a large pizza to share by 3 people and my daughter ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. Â We got the most amazing garlic rolls before our entrees. The pizza was laden with toppings, and the pasta was large enough for 2-3 people. Â We ended up taking a bunch of leftovers to eat at our layover stop. Â Food was great with generous portions.
Our only regret is that Corelli's is not closer to us :(
Corelli's has five stars after 28 reviews and tempted me to give them less just to be a contrarian. Â Nah, I won't be their Huckleberry. Â
My family followed the yellow culinary road in the form of Yelp and it led us to a great meal, served by a great family who cares about giving their customers quality food at great prices.
Based on the flawless yelp reviews, we were expecting a big crowd on a Saturday afternoon, but surprisingly, there was only one other couple eating here. Â I ordered the chicken marsala but I asked the owner about the linguine with clams. After I ordered the chicken, he said he would ask the kitchen to cook m a "little" side of the linguine so I could have a taste. Â I've never had someone offer to do that without charging me for it. Â My wife ordered one of the veal dishes and we ordered the tortellini for our kids. Â
Before our salad came out, we were given some of the best garlic bread I've ever had. Â The bread was soft, not too doughy and topped with garlic and lots of cheese. Â My kids loved it and I had to refrain from too much. Â The salad that came with our entree was accompanied with a memorable dressing. Â Our two entrees very good but the portions are way too big. Â Why would I complain about having too much food? Â Because if you're brought up to not waste food, you try to eat as much as possible and as a result, we both ate more than we wanted and ended up in an uncomfortable food coma. Â Â
Finally, we were treated like family by the family who runs Corelli's. Â The husband, wife and kids? all came out and asked us about our meal and were all very attentive to our needs. Â Corelli's deserves their five stars but if you're a tourist and can't take food with you, then I would definitely suggest splitting the entree.
Food: Nice crust. Nice and crispy. That is what stood out. From what I remember, the cheese wasn't anything special. But the pizza overall was very good.
Workers: It isn't really a restaurant, it is more of self seating and someone just brings you your food. Not like you are assigned a waiter. But the workers were friendly.
Atmosphere: Default.
Overall: If you are in the area, go.
Could this little strip mall hole in the wall be all that good? I had my doubts, but after experiencing it, yes it is.
It isn't much to speak of. It's very small, at first blush looks like nothing more than a cheap pizza joint, but it offers so much more.
Upon entering, you find yourself in a very small, seemingly somewhat cramped area, but it comes off giving a cozy feeling to it. The service is attentive, polite, actually taking a to heart interest in the patrons. The food is more than pizza, though the pizza is very good but by itself hardly worthy of five stars. Though I have had their pizza, it is the other items that have earned my five stars praise. It has a full menu of Italian offerings which, much like home cooking, are nothing flashing but prepared with care. Better yet, it is done at a reasonable price. If it were expensive or pricey as are many other Italian restaurants in the area, I'd only give it three stars.
I'm not sure what this restaurant is trying to be. An Italian grocery store? A wine store? A little hole in the wall deli? I just don't know, but I don't care. What it does, it does well and at a value in price.
Good food, real friendly and accommodating staff and just a short drive from the waterfront. You will have to be careful to watch your elbows though as the dining area is extremely cramped and it's never been my cup of tea to be able to see straight into the unisex bathroom only an arms reach away. Five stars for
more space and better lighting!
Thank you Yelp for helping me discover this great local gem.
The restaurant is small and intimate, both my wife and I thought the place was very charming. Â Most of the patrons seems to be regulars as they were chatting with the owner on a first name basis. Â If you're not local, this is the type of place you would drive by without noticing.
The service was friendly and attentive throughout. Â
We ordered the fried calamari for the appetizer. Â The calamari was tender, though I personally prefer crunchier breading.
The portions were  insane!  We were half full after the appetizer.  When the salad and the complimentary rolls came, we realized that we should've either skipped the appetizer or shared the entree. Â
The salad was fresh and very good with the house dressing, and the rolls were hot out of the oven.
My wife had a slice of chicken parmigiana pizza. Â She thought it was delicious. Â
My egg plant parmigiana came with a spaghetti on the side. Â Both were delightful.
The leftovers gave us two more delicious meals at home.
This is the type of local, family establishments I love to discover.
Just back from CORELLI"S, what a great little place.
This is a real find, family run, friendly and GREAT PIZZA.
Definately the best pizza we have had in Ft Lauderdale.
Next time we will try some of the other dishes, people around us had great looking pasta dishes and what looked like  a huge antipasto.
If I could give this place 7 stars I would. Â It was just as other reviews said - quaint and charming, you feel like you're eating in a market because you are. Â
My glass of house red arrived brimming full and the server followed up our menu questions with "our portions are huge." Â She wasn't kidding. Â We started with 6 garlic rolls which were buttery and tasty in all the right ways for less than $3. Â For dinner our 10 year old diner had the small calzone which was about as big as her torso. Â The topping was identical to the garlic rolls, so she applauded and we helped her eat the cheese filled calzone. Â I liked that the calzone included ricotta which was super fluffy.
We also ordered the double deluxe pizza of pepperoni, extra cheese and garlic. Â All their pizza is thin crust New York style with a light yet doughy crust. Â The pepperonis were huge and folded, so at one point I had a pure pepperoni bite. Â And the garlic, not too spicy, cooked just enough yet not overpowering. Â How did they do it? Â I don't know, but it was one of the best pepperoni pizzas I've had in a very, very long time. Â
The other patrons that were left in the restaurant were equally as giddy as we were over our food, so there was some inter-table talking that led us to order their same dessert of the trio sampler. Â Our kiddie loved the Tiramisu while the zappoli was like heaven. Â I literally said that out loud to the server - how cheesy. Â
Perhaps one of the best parts about our meal was getting to tell the family how much we loved it - they served the food, circulated the market, and proudly received our compliments. Â What a treat - best meal we've had by far on our trip to Lauderdale-by-the-sea. Â And it's not over, we have 3 days worth of leftovers. Â Our only regret, not having enough mouths to justify ordering pasta.
It's all true! The reviews are all very accurate. This setting is intimate, small and tight. Quaint! It's kind of cool being surrounded by shelves stocked with canned goods and a deli counter piled high with wine bottles.
The food was awesome! We each had a side salad and shared the "tour of Italy" which was lasagna, baked ziti, and 2 meatballs. We SHARED this dish and we'll be eating it again tomorrow. Plenty of leftovers. The garlic knots or rolls were out of this world and very garlicky but worth it. Buttery and divine!
I felt really gay with my partner in this environment of true Italian folk but they were very welcoming and kind.
We want to go back for a slice of pizza. I hope I can add that to my review but I can alreay guess it's probably deeeelicious!
My mother-in-law moved to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea this weekend, so we came up from West Kendall to help with the move. For dinner I decided to check Yelp for the best Pizza in the area, and Yelp did it again, simply amazing.
My daughter wanted pizza, so that was simple. The slice was incredibly huge, so I got to try it and it was top rate. My son decided to be difficult and say he just wanted a cheeseburger. We told the waitress and they made sliders on their garlic rolls with a half meatball on each and melted cheese. My son loved it, and I tried one as well, simply for Yelp, and the meatball was amazing as are the garlic rolls.
My wife and mother-in-law both ordered the chicken marsala, which the waitress recommended and I ordered the veal parmigiana. The veal parm was easily one of the 5 best I've ever had and I'm from South Jersey. In addition to it being awesome, it was huge. It was three very large pieces of veal and a big bowl of spaghetti. It had ended up being 1 dinner and 2 lunches.
My wife loves chicken marsala and she orders it at pretty much every Italian restaurant we go to. She said this was the best she's ever had, I tried it and concur.
Finally, we had canolli's for desert and my kids got a chocolate cookie. Both were amazing.
The food is great with large portions and affordable.
The service is even better than the food. The family owned restaurant is so friendly and welcoming we could've stayed for hours.
This is my new favorite restaurant.
After reading a couple of reviews (on another review site) which were negative about the staff's behavior I was hesitant to go to Corelli's but decided to try it. Those other reviewers must have had the behavior problems because everyone was beyond nice, friendly and helpful. We ordered and the waitress suggested a change for me to chicken Marsala from chicken francese. Great choice, it was fabulous.
My wife is on a "lasagna quest" and said hers was the best she ever had and I agree it was excellent.
I asked about a carafe of red wine and she said no carafes, they sold bottles, and a gentleman came to our table and asked how much did I want to spend. I told him, he brought a bottle, and it was very good, especially since I lowballed it at $12.00.
A hole in the wall in a strip mall, (what Florida business isn't?) it is a pretty good taste of Italy inside, small, exposed shelves, wine bottles, a cooler in the dining area, rustic (for Florida) and very relaxed.
And the cannolis! Oh my they were good.
Walking distance from Commercial and A1A, great for vacationers.
Highly, highly recommended.
Was in town for a couple of days visiting the family. My Grandmother had a hankering for some Italian food so we decided to try Corellis.
Let me start by saying that this is a family run establishment that prides itself on fresh homemade classic Italian favorites.
I had the Chicken Florentine which was perfectly prepared and the portion was more than generous. Others at the table orders Veal & Chicken Parmagiano which were also delightfully prepared.
The owners and there children are all there to ensure that you have an authentic amazing experience.
It was a joy talking to both Cindy & Giuseppe the owners. Very gracious and very proud of what they do.
It's half restaurant, half market/deli that also offers all types of Pizzas. Bottom line, if your in the area and want a wonderful hearty Italian meal...this is your spot.
Enjoyed a nice pizza here before jumping on a flight back home. Â Everyone working there was family. Â Pizza was great and the classic Italian dishes at other tables looked good.
It's small, but quaint. Â Seating for 25--30 I'd say. Â It doubles as an Italian food market. Â Good wine selection and reasonable value.
You can tell there is a crowd that eats there all the time and receives a very warm greeting when they walk in. Â Makes for a fun spot.
Great Italian food and excellent hospitality. Â Family run market and restaurant. Â Sometimes huge portions covers for mediocre food but not here. Â The food is great, portions are gigantic and the prices are very reasonable. Â Had the frutti di mare and my wife had the linguini with clam sauce both excellent and more than enough for lunch the next day. Â One of the best and unpretenious Italian restaurants in Broward.
Review Source:I have been here for lunch a few times and I went back yesterday for the first time in 10 months. I was thinking, why the hell don't I come here more. This mom, pop, daughter, and son restaurant is the Norman Rockwell for Italian Americana. This is small restaurant/Italian grocery store that not only has a great vibe, but outstanding food and service. Unless someone told you about this place you would drive right by and not even notice. I did it for years, not knowing what I was missing.
The service is top notch. The daughter, Danielle and her mother, Cindy, work the tables. I felt like I was eating at their house and not a restaurant. Quick, friendly, and efficient are the words that come to mind.
Man, the food portions are huge. I was being very nosy watching different food being delivered and I couldn't believe how big the portions were. The pizza slice special cost 4 and change. You get two slices that are cut from a 22 inch pie. I was like, WTF. The pizza looked fresh and damn good. I had the Italian sub which came with a bag of chips for 8 and change. The meat was cut fresh and the bread was Italian style, firm crust with a soft interior. I got lettuce, tomatoes, onions, provolone cheese, hot peppers, and oil and vinegar. The oil and vinegar was more like an Italian salad dressing which I fell in love with. I bet the spices they used were the Good Seasons Italian dressing mix, which I LOVE. Just a great meal.
I plan on going back ( real soon) and trying some different items specifically the pizza and the pasta dishes. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!
Since I moved to South Florida, I have been on a search for a decent pizza. I was getting very discouraged until we found Corelli's. My wife and I had the Eggplant Parm and Ravioli the first time we ate there, and the food was phenomenal. Great rolls doused in garlic butter, and fresh salad with homemade dressing served with the meal. Very fresh, top quality ingredients, and a nice sauce.
Next time we ordered the Sicilian pizza (call ahead, the dough is made fresh so they need an hour notice). Since coming down here, I have heard apologists making excuses for bad pizza, saying the water here affects the dough. Now I know that this is ridiculous. This pizza was so good, it's worth the 20 minute drive!
Inside, the place is basically an Italian market with a kitchen and tables (very casual). We were there at an odd time, but I hear it gets really busy. Parking is in a metered lot, so bring change.
The market portion has everything you can imagine related to Italian cooking, if you're looking for 6-in-1 tomatoes, this is your place!
Mangia!
