Dairy Queen

This is an older DQ so not as nice looking as a newer DQ building.  What it does have is good service and best DQ food I have eaten.  So do not come for the decor, but all the things that make this a local traditional favorite.

We didn't eat here. Let me tell you why. We stopped in to use the restroom and grab an ice cream. The ladies room was a disaster, with the handicapped stall torn apart and jugs of frying oil filling the space. There was one other stall and it was occupied. I was thinking about commenting to the occupant when she exited that surely the health department would frown upon food items being stored on the bathroom floor. Then the woman walked out of the stall. She was an employee. She walked right past me without washing her hands. I was aghast. After I exited the restroom, having also washed my hands because I give a shit about sanitation, I asked to speak to a supervisor. When he walked over, looking no more than in his very early 20's, and I told him what had just occurred, he shrugged and told me that girl's shift had not yet started. Are you f-ing kidding me?!? Is that supposed to make me feel better? At least *she* wouldn't be the one dispensing my soft serve?!? Several words come to mind: disgusting. Irresponsible.  And oh- here's another one- illegal. I don't think you can use your ONLY handicapped accessible restroom as a storage space. Shame on you, Dairy Queen.

When I was 5 this was pretty much the coolest place in the entire world.

Now, sadly, its just another of many options in the area.  I still love me a Butterfinger Blizzard, but with other shops nearby, such as Cold Stone ... I just cant' say that I'll be as enthusiastic about trekking up to the ole' DQ as I used to.
