I have been here a bunch of times already and the food and coffee is always top notch. Their breakfast roll (sausage, egg, melted cheese and a fluffy crusty roll) is awesome. I have had their curry chicken baguette which is also great and they make/serve LavAzza coffee which is great and will only set you back $2 for a large one.

I've lived within a block of Deli Boutique for a few years, yet I've only wandered in twice.

What is WRONG with me?  Why would I gag myself on yet another Subway sandwich when I could spend *exactly* the same amount of money for a big, fresh, delicious panini at this local shop?  Mark my words, THAT conduct is gonna change!

I wandered in last week and ordered the Collosus panini. What a frickin' treat this was. Salami, another kind of salami, some other meat (ham maybe? I forget.), and fresh mozzarella melted into a delectibly-pressed panini.

...Oh! And then there's the crowning achievement of this palate-pleaser: a delicious spread of  olive tapenade to bring everything together.

Final price? $6.99.  Get outta town!

The first time I visited Deli Boutique I had their Colosseum panino and at the first bite I was immediately brought back to the years I spent living in Italy.  I have only on very rare occasions tasted something that lived up to real Italian flavors.  I have since tried a few other panini from their menu and can say that I am happy with this place every time I visit.  The staff is also very friendly and the shop has a great selection of pre-made deli entrees and sides as well as some specialty foods.

I have been patronizing this deli for several years and while I have enjoyed the food, I have noticed the prices on certain prepared foods have jumped as much as 30% in one fell swoop.  When I asked one of the owners about this, she just rudely replied that they haven't raised their prices in 5 years (which is untrue) so the time had come to do so.  I have no problem with businesses raising their prices as it is understood that the cost of raw materials, deliveries etc have gone up but why not raise prices slowly rather than to gouge good customers.  I resolved that problem by not buying the items whose prices have increased dramatically.  However, if the trend continues, I will have to take my business elesewhere.

Small place, but friendly service and good food. I've tried a few sandwiches and they have all been really yummy and the assortments of pasta salad are delicious. They have one with broccoli that is best. It is never too busy, if I want I can always find a seat and the atmosphere is relaxing, nice to sit and read a paper. Cute little place for a decent meal.

A great little shop that offers ice cream, coffee, desserts and a variety of deli items like soup, panini, salads, etc...

I've stopped in a few times and like his shop much more than any national-chain competitor.  The food items are fabulous and the atmosphere of friendly workers who genuinely take an interest in their patrons is refreshing.

I had a great panini with Italian meats and fresh mozzarella on one occasion, it was big enough for 2 meals.

I had a dessert dubbed the Mona Lisa which was fantastic.  Basically, vanilla mousse on bottom, light sponge cake in the middle, chocolate mousse on top.  Wow, I am not a dessert guy but this was really good!

My young son loves the various cookies, freshly baked and delicious!

Quaint place with great service and delicious sandwiches on freshly baked baguettes all around $7. Watch out not to miss it- the cheesy icecream sign outside threw me off

Found this place while in LP looking for somewhere to eat lunch.

Arent I glad for the helpful Yelp App for all my foodie desires.  It saved me from disgusting, overpriced Cosi.

Anyway, this is a super cute little sandwich shop with a little bit of everything.  They have paninis, homemade soups. LaVazza coffee, soft serve ice cream, smoothies, pastas, etc.

The sandwiches were really fantastic.  We had the tuna salad and the Amsterdam.  Both complimented each other well.  They are a little pricey, but what the hell.  We also had the lentil soup and some of the pesto pasta salad.  It was fantastic.

It seems like such a little fun cafe.

Check it out if you are in the area.  Much better than the mainstream sandwich shops and about the same price.

**Quick edit: Deli Boutique now has a $10 minimum to pay with a credit card.  Sure, small business owners are always struggling with fees like this.  While I feel for them, I think that their job is to make it EASIER for me to procure their goodies, not more difficult.

I've lived 2 blocks away from Deli Boutique for almost 2 years now; I'm a lucky man. If you're in the neighborhood, you should definitely check this place out.

About the Physical Location: Dripping with pleasantness (I don't know if that's a word). It's just a block north of Clark and Webster, and just a bit south of Clark and Fullerton.  Not a huge space, but I've never really been here at a time where I've had to wait for my order.

About the People:  I love them.  All of them.  Just friendly folks, that are all female employees.  The man that's sometimes around is presumably the owner.  And the dudes cooking the food in back, of course.

For Breakfast: Tip -- get the freshly squeezed orange juice, with the deli breakfast roll.  The DBR is my favorite breakfast sandwich in town.  They aren't doing anything special with their coffee or tea, so if you're a snob (like I sometimes am), head 2 blocks south to City Grounds.

For Lunch:  Fresh soup specials every day.  Get that goodness.  The sandwiches, whether you want something hot or cold, are all good and are all deviations from the standard sandwich options at standard sandwich places.  Whew.  I feel like I just said standard 1,000,000 times.

For Dinner: Yup, dinner. Get sandwiches again.  Or, get some of there home-made salads, meat or fish dishes.  I'm pretty partial to their meatloaf, and then I usually pair that with some kind of mixed veggies they've got.

    Go here.

This place lives up to the hype. It's an excellent spot for lunch any day of the week. They have daily soup & sandwich specials at very reasonable prices. They've got a variety of soups, sandwiches, panini's & salads to make everyone happy.

The service was spot on - as it should be at a place like that ... it attracts a lot of customers who won't be waiting long for their food or to be served at the deli counter.

If you're in the area and looking for a quick place to eat at a reasonable price, put Deli Boutique towards the top of the list.

I was looking for a new study spot and came across Deli Boutique. It's a cute and quaint place. I had the chicken noodle soup which was awesome, as well as mocha coffee and eclair. I've had better eclairs but not bad for a deli. I didn't have a sandwich but a lot of people had and they looked big and delicious. I'll definitely be back there for some. They also have, of course, a deli where you can get your fresh meats and potato salad, etc. Definitely a place to stop by. Only thing I didn't like about it is there's no public restroom so after 3 hours of studying and drinking/eating, I had to leave and find a bathroom. If there was one, I'd probably stay longer. There's also a $5 minimum on credit cards.

I wanted to LOVE this place 'cause I love supporting local businesses and hidden gems. But...the vegetarian panini was lacking! The bread was fresh, the mozzarella too---but everything else was just MEH. I could barely taste the pesto in the pesto mayo, and the spinach tasted like steamed frozen spinach..overall the sandwich was pretty bland. That being said, the meat-ful sandwiches might be better. I'd be willing to try it again if they had more veg options. In terms of atmosphere/ambiance, THAT earns it 3 stars, 3 hearts rather 'cause it definitely warmed mine! CHARMING little joint. Simple with a few paintings and dainty flowers in tiny vases at each table. And you can't deny that the people who work there are so so sweet. Even though I wasn't impressed by their food, I tipped them for their kind service. All in all, precious place with sweet people, but unremarkable food. =/

I have to say, I definitely dig deli boutique. I came here to grab some lunch and ended up buying more than just that.

I got myself an amsterdam sandwich. This had roast beef, carmelized onions, and some greens. There was some mayo, but I could barely notice it. The sandwich was decent but, the rice I bought from here was very good. I just got myself a half lb and the pasta salad was also really good.

There is a good feel here with the people being very nice. I'll definitely be back to try more of the sandwiches and dig into some of their pastries

Desperate for a brunch place that wouldn't have a wait, I gambled on Deli Boutique after finding it on Yelp. I almost don't want to write this review so this place stays a secret...but it was great. My boyfriend and I had breakfast sandwiches and soup (weird combo, I know. It was rainy and cold) that were all delicious. He was pretty devastated that we didn't come for lunch because all of their sandwich options look amazing! The staff were really nice as well.

I used to live in LP, and this place was a common visit weekly.  The pan inis are actually one of the best you'll ever have, soup is decent.  They have some other funky things around the shop but I highly recommend a sandwich and chill out there.

After walking for a long time, we found this little place, which was amazing!

Chicken "santorini" panini was soooo delicious and big! I had to save the other half for the next day, and it tasted awesome then too!

Chicken barley soup was delicious and warm, perfect for a chilly day.

I loved this little place. So delicious and fairly priced.

My friends and I were ravenous after walking through the Lincoln Park Zoo so we relied on Yelp to get us somewhere with a good star rating. Good job Yelp. Deli Boutique is an A+ in my book.

They have a wide selection of lunch and breakfast sandwiches. The cold weather caused me to have a lust for hot soup so I ordered a bowl of the minestrone soup and a side of their smoked cheese (forgot what kind) pasta salad. They had a variety of different cold pasta selections sold by the pound.

    Smoked cheese pasta salad $8/lb
    Minestrone $2.99

Both were DELICIOUS! When the minestrone soup came out the color was a little dull but the taste was amazing! I would highly recommend this place for people hungry after the zoo.

Love this place, and miss it terribly since I moved out of the neighborhood. The best bread I have had in Chicago (open to suggestions because this has been a 2 year struggle for me).

Love the baguettes, rustic breads, and multigrain breads. SO good and fresh. My boyfriend loves the soppressata from here, too.

Breakfast/coffee is always good, and I love the Barcelona sandwich.

Love the service here too - so nice.

Sandwiches are a staple in my diet. The Deli Boutique features hot panini samitches and fresh sliced cold cuts to boot. I got the Matador- which had roast beef, mushrooms, blue cheese, and provolone(?) or mozzarella. This sandwich wasn't just delicious it was HUGE. I had to take half of it home. But I have to say- I was disappointed; I got the butt of the bread!
I hate butts of bread. Although- the butts were a downer, the Deli Boutique had this delightful candy called Cunchie. Which I did not realize was sold in America!

So- all around good experience. I would not recommend bringing a crew with you because there is limited seating.

My sister and I stumbled upon this cute little deli in the midst of apartment hunting.

Proof that just because you are on a budget doesn't mean you have to eat crap sandwiches...!

    mmm

The Amsterdam is the bomb dot com. Enough sando for 2 meals- we split it and spent around 3-4 bucks each. Shwing!

Oh and the Chocolate Eclair, bomb.

Friendly service. Definitely will frequent this place once it gets a bit warmer out!

I absolutely love this place - it was recommended to me by the owners of Holtzmann's jewelers and with good reason.  The Deli Boutique is quaint, charming, and their small but varied menu options are delicious.  Also, as many people have already mentioned, it's easy to get addicted to their breads.  So far, I've had the ciabatta and the demi-baguettes.  They're equally delicious but the demi-baguettes are my favourite!  Currently, I'm on this "eat my dinner here" kick so, every night, I stop in to purchase a little crock of their daily soup (tonight's was home made vegetable, a thick, tomato base with huge carrots, potatoes and other veggies...delicious) and a demi-baguette.

Oh, and did I mention that they're ridiculously inexpensive? Soup and baguette for less than $5.  True story!

There's only seating for 8, I think (four 2-top tables?), but it's never crowded when I'm there; it's just constantly steady.  I mean, every time I've gone in, there are always a couple of customers trickling in and out, non-stop.  If you're in the neighborhood, you should stop by; you won't be disappointed.

Great panini's I always get the Berliner or the Amsterdam (swapping the swiss for Muenster) YUM.

Soup is good, best if its homemade.

The OJ is to die for, spend the extra 50 cents and get the large, you need the vitamin C.

Deli prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for Lincoln Park.

This place is a GEM!! Great sides too, the Potato Salad and Old world cole slaw are Dazzling!

    BEST BREAD IN CHICAGO.

    (Addicting).

Stocked up for Ravinia; absolutely perfect, once again.
Will be back before Jazz Fest picnicking this week.

Tip: buy an extra baguette... the mini baguettes are reasonable...and beyond amazing (perfect crunch on the outside & soft-sweet in the middle). You'll wish that you had grabbed an extra - BUT please don't take the last one before I get there!

After leaving the IMAX, we decided to go to the Conservatory in Lincoln Park.  But before doing that, we wanted to grab a bite to eat.  Surprising enough, all the restaurants on Clark (around there) aren't doing too well.  Effects of the bad economy.  I remember a time when walking up and down there where there were tons of places to eat.

Oh well, after walking a few blocks, we found Deli Boutique.  Very cute store.. Kinda reminds you of little shops in Europe.  We sat at a small cafe style table for two.   We ordered two panini's.  My panini had chicken, green peppers, black olives and provolone cheese.  Quite tasty.  My partner had a panini with tuna salad, tomato's, and capers.  Very good as well.  They also sold a variety of coffee's, freshly squeezed drinks, and desserts.  We passed on the desserts as we knew we would be eating them later on.

If in the area, I would go back!!

Very tasty sandwiches, mostly a result of excellent breads, and a wide variety of side salads make this deli a wonderful alternative to local chains like Potbelly.

If you're taking yours to go, grab some extra napkins! These killer sandwiches are messy in only the most delicious way. I'd skip buying beverages here as they're priced unreasonably high, but the food is a spot-on value for the flavor.

My first impression was that this place was like a super mini Whole Foods. They offer a variety of cheese and meets. They also have different kinds of salads. I ordered a chicken Panini sandwich the size was big and the taste even greater.

Price: around 7 dollars per person
    Size: Filling
    Taste: Delicious
    Employs: Overly nice

As an East Coast transplant, deli's have been a big part of my life-and my main source of sustenance-since I could walk.  I'm used to a (good) deli being either of the Italian-American persuasion or Jewish-style.  Deli boutique, as a European deli, is neither.  It is, however, completely boss.

The sandwiches are fantastic, but the quiet star of deli boutique is their bread.  I think they get stuff par-baked and finish it off on-site, which gives it a freshness that's hard to beat.  Their ciabatta and portuguese rolls, in particular, are amazing and make any sandwich you get on them two notches better.  Their baked goods and veggie/pasta salads, are very good, but for me it's all about the sandwiches.

The napoli (a foodie's version of an italian sub on ciabatta) and barcelona are my favorite cold sandwiches.  I recommend getting the barcelona on ciabatta as well, because the roll it comes on is a little small considering the tower of meat, cheese and coleslaw they try to squeeze into it.  For a hot sandwich, I recommend the coliseum panini or the breakfast sandwich with fried eggs, a latke (fried potato pancake), swiss and sauteed mushrooms.  It may sound a little weird, but try it.

For fresh-squeezed oj nuts like me, they have a Zumex machine, the kind that is ubiquitous in cafes in many European countries.  The juice is pricey, but worth it.

It can get crowded during lunch on weekends, but get it to go and head over to the park for some al fresco dining.

This place is right out of france.  or italy.  or maybe its actually just a cute little deli/sandwich shop with european decor.  Regardless, it has good food and a good ambience.  Everything looks pretty good, and all of the prepared foods also look like they are less expensive than you would find them for if you went to one of any of the handful of nearby overpriced markets.

Bonus points for the menu being creative and nonstandard, but well thought out nonetheless.  I will definitely be back.

Wow what a great little place!  I stopped in here today after getting soaked with a thunderstorm and it turned out to be a great surprise!  I got the Barcelona Sandwich and some couscous salad.  Both of which were excellent.  The desserts there looked VERY good, but sadly I didn't try any.

If you're in need of a quick bite to eat and are looking for something better than a normal run-of-the-mill Subway sub, stop in here.

This great, aptly titled Deli Boutique is more than just a spot for a great hot sandwich, you can also find a nice assortment of cheeses, sweets, savory meals, and warm drinks.

The size is rather small so if you're with a bigger group of see six or so people already seated you'll probably have to take it to go. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable on all the items they sell. Make sure to try some Glogg during the wintertime and their selection of paninis is great. The sandwiches are great large so be prepared to take some home or split one with a buddy and you'll save on the check.

This place is so cute, lots of appealing salads, pastries, etc. I wanted so badly to love it, especially since it's just around the corner from my house, unfortunately it was just ok.

I got the tuna sandwich (aka the Mediterranean), there was nothing boutiquey or gourmet about it. It was just tuna, cheese, celery and onion on what was called multi-grain french bread. I do have to say though, that I compliment the place on their sparing use of mayo, I hate tuna when it's swimming in it. First, toss some tomato on that, the sandwich was pretty dry without it. Second, when I think french bread I think baguette, not something that strongly resembled Brownberry whole grain sliced wheat. Lastly, for $7 all I got was the sandwich, no pickle, no side, no napkin, nothing else.

In my opinion the fish and veggie sandwich/panini options are lacking both in quantity and imagination. Tuna and cheese is hardly what I would call a "gourmet" sandwich.

In addition to my sandwich I took home something sweet - the pastries looked delicious and very reasonably priced. I waffled between a red velvet cupcake and the pain au chocolat (under $2), and was not disappointed. The croissant portion was nice and flaky like it should be with just the right amount of chocolate.

Bottom line, the sandwich portion of this place didn't meet my expectations, but I'll likely be back for more sweets.

While the prices are a little higher than most other places, the sandwiches are high-quality and taste amazing.  This is a cute little deli with delicious food that is way above the run-of-the-mill sandwich shoppes.  I meant to spell 'shoppe' that way too.

I will have to try the soup when I'm around again.  It's so convenient and good.

This is the one place I love to just sit by the window and watch people walking down the busy Clark St. They always have some french music playing in the background. The coffee reaches your table in coffee mugs 'n saucers with a mint chocolate by the side. Their butter, chocolate, almond-cheese croissants are worth the indulge : they even warm it up for you in the baking oven. The waitresses remind of little Dutch dolls : service has been extremely good all the umpteen times I've been in here.
For those winter blues or to just take a coffee break, a great spot !

This little deli is unassuming and surprisingly delicious. I walked by here several times a month without stopping by -- but very glad I did for a nice lunch with a good friend one lazy afternoon. I ordered one of their gigantic, melt in your mouth paninis called the Napoli (honey ham, tomato, dijon mustard) with vegetable soup. Quality food, it was probably $10 total with tax. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing.

Overall, it was quiet and cute. Not a lot of seating, I'd say on a nice day grab a sandwich or pastry and go eat in the park. (They have to go bags and containers, we couldn't finish our sandwiches, they were huge!)

A great stop for pre-made meals, catering, sandwiches, coffee, deli meat and pastries. This place basically has it all. They also have a variety of European food and drinks for sale. The owners and staff are extremely nice and treat their "regulars" really well.

If your in the mood for a sandwich, try a Barcelona. It is great! They also specially made food for a new years eve party I threw and it was a wonderful.

I also wasn't aware of the stash of drinks they keep behind the counter until my 2nd or 3rd visit.

I've had the panini (try "the Amsterdam" minus the onions), a few of the salads and the mixed fruit muffins here (filled with cranberries, apple, blueberries -- yum).  The food is good, but due to the high quality of the imported items, it is expensive.  The staff is friendly, and willing to accommodate special requests.

Dena S. -- I don't really care for the drinks in the "serve yourself" cooler; however, they keep a stash of Coke/Diet Coke, etc. in the fridge behind the cash register!

I live about a block from Deli Boutique and have eaten there at least once a week; probably 30 times since they've opened. I stick with the non-panini sandwiches and have had each several times. Every sandwich is distinctly different from the others (Barcelona, Napoli, Bombay, etc) and all are fantastic. Good espresso drinks, too!

I'm moving to Wrigleyville in a few months and Deli Boutique is the neighborhood place I'll miss the most. We have food places galore in Chicago, but not many like DB. She'll be missed!
