Parking sucks. Service is "MEH." And these <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.urbandictionary.com%2Fdefine.php%3Fterm%3Dmountain%2520lion&s=17371f226cd269a1815c2b9c9842ec433c952052dfb52a34d35dfc7aa7bde548" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.urbandictiona…</a>

I'm only basing this review on the food, as I don't want to be near this place at night because it's cougar and dirty old man-filled. (It is also during the day, but not quite the extent as it is at night.)

Since the new owner has taken over and cleared house, replacing the management and the whole staff, I think the food is top-notch. He brought in a new, classically-French trained, chef and the quality has really sky-rocketed. Over the past few years, even after Gordon Ramsey (whom of which I love!) came in and revamped the place, it's been atrocious. I've had the Roasted Chicken and the Cowboy Steak & fries on two separate occasions and my boyfriend has had the pizza and Southwest Burger and both of us really enjoyed all of it. The steak was probably the best "cheap" steak I've ever had (I believe it's 22.95 or 24.95)

Also, the place is huge, so there is plenty of seating indoors, as well as, on the patio. It's a nice place to take the kids, but I'd leave little jenny and little bobby home after say 6pm.

As far as drinks are concerned, it's a little over-priced for this type of establishment, in my opinion. Rumrunners are always good, but expect to pay nearly $10 for one.

Also, the service has really improved. They've been friendly and attentive each time we've been here in the past couple months.

Formerly Jack's Waterfront Restaurant, it is now called Dockside Jack's Grill and Tiki Bar. I was thinking they could have called it Jack's Jacked Up Parking and Grill and Tiki Bar. Valet is an option if you don't mind parting with five bucks right off the bat.

I mentioned on Jack's Waterfront listing that they've had their share of problems in the recent past, the place is now under new ownership and they've brought in a chef that worked at a hotel in Las Vegas. I was hopeful things would be better food wise, and I am happy to report it was.

I arrived at about 8:30 and there was no waiting, the restaurant was maybe half full. The wait staff was pleasant, prompt and attentive. The Rum Runners were really good and the company I was with gave the Mango Mai Tai good marks. Our appetizer selection was the bacon wrapped shrimp, you read right...bacon wrapped shrimp, and it was awesome. For dinner I ordered the steak sandwich, oh baby was it good! It was served on what I believe was some type of sour dough bun. The steak was smothered in grilled onions, accompanied with Parmesan and Monterrey Jack cheese. It also came with fries and a pickle. I won't go into detail about what my dinner companions ordered only to say they enjoyed their meals as well.

I observed a pretty crowded bar/club area, there was live entertainment; we could hear the music clearly from our seats in the restaurant area. The sound was a duo singing pop hits to a music machine. To rate them?...I'd say about three notches better than your average karaoke singer. It wasn't that bad. I will also state for the record that there were some Cougars on the prowl. I felt like a baby wildebeest, I made sure not to wander far from my company as we made our way toward the exit.

Summary: Parking still shitty. Valet too expensive.  Service good. Food very good. Entertainment so so. Fish Fly attack outside annoying.

    Final rating...3.5 stars.
