If I could give negative stars I would....

I haven't had pizza from Dominos in a few years, but I remember that I used to like it: decent pizza at reasonable prices. (Note: this is my first time ordering from this Domino's location)

So much to my dismay, when I ordered a simple, plain thin-crust pizza (with no toppings) and an order of breadsticks, the total- including tip, tax, and delivery charge- was north of $20 (I don't recall the exact amount...just that I was taken aback by how expensive it was). Very steep for what's supposed to be cheap, mass-produced fast food made from low quality ingredients.

When my food arrived, I nearly vomited. The breadsticks were so oily and greasy that I had to throw them out (I didn't even both taking a bite). The pizza itself tasted bland and cardboardy- as if it had been made several days before I ordered it.

I don't have high expectations for fast food places like Dominos, but considering how much I paid and how egregiously poor the food was, I was pretty pissed.

I called Domino's Customer Service (not the store...but the company) to complain, and this is something I can't ever recall doing in the past. I was told that my complaint would be forwarded to the store manager or owner. I wasn't expecting a refund or a comp or anything, just some form of acknowledgement/apology. I never heard from anyone.

In short, I will never eat from this store again and I would advise everyone else to avoid this place to:

-Horrible Food
-Horrible Value
-Horrible Customer Service

I really like the new dominos, they get minus 1 star for screwing up our order, actually they forgot the feta spinach cheesy bread then they gave us the cheese cheesy bread instead of the feta spinach one....it was NYE so they were busy I guess...the pizza is great for a restaurant pizza chain...maybe moving up to my favorite...its pizza hut and dominos in the running for my fav rest pizza chain...

It's not the Domino's we all remember from 5+ years ago. The pizza is so much different and SO MUCH BETTER! Also, crazy cheap. The flavors are really good. I have done both delivery and carryout and both are quick and easy. The carryout was done in around 15 minutes which is awesome!

The iPhone app is really cool too. I like that you can see the process of where your pizza is and you know when its ready. No showing up early and waiting for it to be done.

Takes forever to get a pizza. Let alone for them to answer the phone

I'm one of the rare Chicagoans that actually think Domino's has amazing pizza. Well, maybe "amazing" is a bit of a stretch, but I enjoy Domino's and think it has a very nostalgic "je ne sais quoi"...

I've had HORRIFIC experiences ordering from the Papa Johns on Cermak in the South Loop, so Domino's was a much better option.

I downloaded the iPhone app and ordered my pizza. It was a seamless process - - so easy, quick and efficient. Within 20 mins my order was at the door... my COMPLETE order (something Papa John's struggles with... but that's another rant for their Yelp review page lol).

All of the food was received nice and hot. Only complaint? I wish the wings weren't as soggy (hot wings), but I was hungry and still ate them.

For the most part, they've been pretty good at completing my order correctly, and getting it here hot....

Have to give them kudos for that after the last review I wrote....

Ridiculously fast, quality service on a Friday night! I ordered my pizza online at 9:13pm and it was delivered in under 20 minutes! It was still so hot, I had to let it sit a bit.

The best deals Domino's offers are for ordering in groups. It's hard to get a deal for a smaller (2 person) meal. With delivery and tip... it's still about $18 for well, Domino's. There are some great online codes for weekdays. The website is currently offering free delivery ($2.50) if you sign up for a trial subscription of something (sorry, I don't remember and now the site isn't giving me the offer), but you have to give them your cc#.

I agree with everyone on the improved taste. It's much better and the mix and matching of the make your own pizza allows you to create the perfect slice! The crust was a little salty for my tastes (I had the normal garlic crust, they have a a few options), but overall a pretty good pizza.

Tracking your pizza online is fun and accurate Pretty cleaver new feature.

Online order is really fun, you can choose all different kind of topings you want. The coolest thing is that they have a browser plugin so you can go ahead and surf the web while watching the order process. And this is good for me living around the store so i can pick it up when it's ready.
In addition, you can search online for a 50% off coupon for you carry out. So i got a nice pizza with an amazing price!

@Ramon DeLeon, ftw!!!

I work at a college and some of the students needed meals provided for them (over Winter Break due to the dorms being closed). Ahhh, how I miss college life. Anyway, after soliciting a couple restaurants in the area, I remembered how awesome and generous Ramon DeLeon is when it comes to donating pizzas for a good cause. (If you follow him on Twitter, then you know what I mean!)

After providing him with details of how many students, the date and why the students needed the pizzas, he graciously agreed to donate pizzas! All I'd need to do was pick up the pizzas from the South Loop location. Awesome!

When I arrived, the pizzas were already ready and piping hot! Ramon gave us 6 pizzas (for 15 students!). How delightful! And the spread of pizzas was just great - pepperoni, cheese and two specialty pizzas (one had feta cheese and looked incredibly good).

With the new revamp in pizzas (so tasty!) and the awesome customer service, Domino's is definitely a favorite in my book! Thanks again, Ramon!

@Ramon DeLeon is probably the best thing to ever happen to Domino's.

I changed my previous low review because he took the time of his day to fix the problem and message me. I appreciate that more than anything.

Yesterday we gave Dominos another shot after not having it since November, and it was perfect.

The pizza was wonderful, and I am so happy to be ordering from Domino's again, because it really is the best tasting pizza.

I think Dominos has come a lonnnnnng way from the drunken pizza I used to consume every Friday and Saturday night in college. The new crust and sauce is totally my favorite. Of course it isn't gourmet pizza or anywhere near authentic Italian but sometimes you just need a yummy slice. I love garlic butter so this crust is great for me!

The online ordering is awesome! The pizza tracker is super cool and yes I'm totally the dork that hits refresh to see where my pizza is along the prep line. This place is pretty speedy too. I've only ordered online so I can't speak for actual customer service over the phone. They all seem pretty friendly when I bop in to pick up my pizza.

Careful when pulling directly up from to run in and grab your pizza because the parking lot monitor (haha glorified security guard my ass) will rush you along.

Wayyyyy better now. The cheese almost tastes real and the crust is delicious.

There's so many choices, we actually did a chicken bbq pizza and it was pretty tasty. Just in general, everything is better, the crust, cheese, sauce, breadsticks, etc

They have great deals online, too. So go ahead, give Domino's another try. I promise you'll be surprised at how much better it is.

2 pizzas, 2 toppings, cheesy bread and a 2 liter of coke for $22 AND it was delivered super fast. I know it's not Lou Malnatis or Giordanos but for 4 hungry people that can't agree on toppings and don't want to spend a bunch of cash this was some good food.

OK I know this is the complete opposite from what other people think, however here are my reasons for giving them 5 stars.

1. The online ordering is ridiculously cool...When I am starving, there's nothing more nerve wrecking then wondering when my food will arrive. They give you an update of each step towards delivery and they let you know who is making your pizza. I LOVE IT.

2. The service is pretty good, I called to place an order over the phone and I got my pizza super fast and everything was as ordered.

3. I usually get the hand tossed with ground beef and green peppers, the meat is flavorful, however they could be more generous on the green peppers. Non the less, still delicious.

4. Best of all, the NEW recipe they use for crust is lip smacking good. GARLIC crust! UGH, no kissing for the night, but who cares, I'm enjoying my pizza too much.

5. You can get two medium pizzas for $5.99 each with two toppings. Well, if that's not cheap eats then I don't know what is.

To all the yelpers that are whining, shut it up. This is NOT Chicago's finest pizza, so stop trying to compare it to what you are used to. It's DOMINOS!

So when hungry in the late evening on a sunday night and we decided on pizza, the suggestion was Domino's and I gave a look of disgust. I mean don't we all when Domino's pizza is mentioned? I asked him when was the last time he ate at Domino's and he said 6 years ago. 6 years ago?? That's great. Just Great!!!

WELL.. they have a new recipe (i.e. the new commercials) We'll see about that. so we went ahead and ordered online. Their online ordering is pretty cool by the way. And you get to track it. It'll say stuff like: Josh is prepping your order 7:50pm. Josh is checking on your pizza at 7:58pm- while the stage of the order lights up, such as Prep, bake, box, delivery. So Kewl! We got the 2 mediums, 2 toppings for 15.18 after tax and delivery charge. The process of ordering and delivery was faster than I thought. So the verdict? not so shitty after all! The crust is pretty garlicky. I thought the sauce was pretty decent, was not too sour and not bland. We ordered a mushroom and jalapeno and pepperoni and jalapeno. It was actually pretty good. And for the price.. I'm not mad at all. Don't worry, I won't be craving this anytime soon or at all, pizza snobs. It just didn't taste like shit- I wouldn't fight it so much if we resorted to ordering this in the future. ONCE IN AWHILE though. A long while.

Delivery near Columbus and Randolph usually took about 45-60 minutes, which is to be expected. The food was also what I expect from Domino's, which is consistent but unremarkable.

But I was surprised how many doormen of nearby buildings would call with the cell number the delivery drivers would give them and tell me the pizza was there. If I lived in the building, why would the doormen need to be given my number?

i used to work behind this location so it was convient tocome here for lunch. i ordered the cheesy bread which is SOOO good . its like a mix of garlic bread and cheese sticks . there are about 5 slices and cost 3. 87 . and i also have tried the buffalo wings which were good too. i think i used to get the spicy ones for about 6 dollars and it was maybe 10 of them idk. usualy i wud order the food ahead and it would take about 15 minutes and usually my food would be ready but a fewtimes after coming 20 minutes after i called , i was told the delivery man accidentally took my order out and i wud have to wait or it was only one or 2 ppl there and it was slow .

As I eat my pizza...I feel the need to tell everyone how super awesome the new Pizza Tracker on http://dominos.com is! If you place an online order it pops up a glowing bar that tells you exactly what time your order is taken, by who, when it is prep-ed, and by who, when it goes in the oven, is being boxed, and finally the name of the delivery driver who takes your pizza. Super cool.

Oh, and good pizza, although watch out for the real chicagoans who will judge you in the elevator for not ordering Giordano's.

We decided to come here last night. The pizza was ok. Breadsticks are better elsewhere. Cinnastixs were ok.

For the price and quality, I rather go elsewhere!

I wish I had nice things to say about this particular Domino's, alas, I really don't. We have problems whenever we order from them. Despite being literally a block and a half or so away from us, they always take more than 45 minutes to deliver, completely ignoring their 30 minute rule, and many times our pizza is lukewarm, and once in a while it's cold. We don't really hold that against them though because it is the city and we're used to having to wait that long for food (though not from places that close to us). I guess as far as that goes we're just jealous of our friends in Naperville who get apologies and vouchers anytime they're late in delivering.

Anyway, our main problem really is that they're not good workers. They forget our coke (and sometimes other things) about 98% of the time and have only offered to take it off of our bill once, though nicely one delivery guy brought it back to us, which we appreciated(not that they're far). Now, I love greek salads. I tried to order them twice because it appears on the menu. Makes sense, no? No. It actually doesn't make sense. You see, as the last delivery guy informed us, they don't actually have the ingredients for Greek or Caesar salad at their location. Do you think the woman answering the phone could have told us that? Of course not. Because she deemed it totally acceptable to just send the only salad they do have (it's not, I would've have preferred she just be upfront and say they don't have Greek salads). So I sent it back because I did not order it. And then not only was it the poor delivery guy who had to tell us that, but then he told us that WE THE CUSTOMER had to report it to Domino's corporate. It took me forever to locate a place to report it, but I did. As part of the Domino's corporation, that is something that they should have done themselves ages ago, and I still have no recognition from corporate that they know or are dealing with that issue. I can't be the only one ordering Greek Salads. I almost called back after the last time to find out from the lady why she didn't bother to tell me they didn't have the ingredients, but I knew it wouldn't do me any good. This is a simple thing to do I would think.

Unfortunately, this is the closest Domino's to us, so if we want it again, we'll have to order from there. In the meantime, we're working on trying out new local places :)

UPDATE: as of 11/5/08 (at least) they now have Caesar salads with chicken. Still no Greek salad ingredients, but that's at least one step in the right direction.

I usually never have a problem with restaurants, but this time was different. I was suppose to order pizza for class so I called the Canal location to order. I called to order for the location of my school and the guy said it was too far and gave me the 1-800 number which I had no problem with. Then he says call the division location at 312 da da da da and finished saying the numbers at warp speed. I asked him to please slow down so I may take the number down, he does the same thing and hangs up on me. I went ahead and called the 1-800 number which magically dials me back to the Domino's I just called. The guy with the same hispanic accent picks up the phone, I think they have caller ID because he says rudely "you already called here". I then said " I know sir, but the 1-800 number brought me back here and I would like to know the number to the division location, but you spoke to fast". By this time I had him on speakerphone to show my friend how rude he was. The rude guy does the same thing again and says the numbers super fast...312 da da da. I said can you please slow down.....then he goes " 3...............(waits)......1...........(wait)............2.....I was thinking like are you frikin serious. He then ads " your pretty slow for a stupid office worker" then hangs up. My friend was in the room and was upset when she heard him on speakerphone so she gets the phone and calls back. She asked to speak to the manager and the same guy goes " I am the manager" scary thought huh...then proceeds to caller her a bitch for calling...my mouth drops to the floor..then she starts to call him an asshole. He hangs up once again and we call the other location to order the pizza. No on picks up and I have a feeling he called that location to tell them not to answer, as soon as we hang up, the Dominos at the Canal loation calls my house and when we answer he hangs up on us....I could not believe this happened. If that really was the manager than he need to be fired or deported asap...

Ugh, wtf?? I don't how Domino's manages to exist at all. How can a chain pizza restaurant have online ordering where you can't even use a credit card?? Explain this one to me please!!! Isn't that the point of online ordering, the whole ease of use thing, and magic of the Internet. They have the absolute worst online ordering system ever. Again, how does this place do online ordering where credit cards aren't used?? Their highly unintuititive website lets you order pizza online and make sure you use caps or you can't even get into the website or will be really frustrated. After tonight's ordering experience, I think that I can fully say that Domino's doesn't get the Internet or online ordering. If they did, then it might mean that ordering a pizza from them would be an easy transaction not a headache with on an empty stomach. I've ordered from this place a few times and had crappy experiences every time. Mediocre pizza and bad online ordering system make for a truly one star experience.

Here's my Domino's horror story - I ordered one of their standard pizza offerings for delivery, it finally arrived 40 minutes later, I paid the delivery dude & made the mistake of sending him away before checking the goods - opened the box & found a blob of what used to be pizza squished into one corner of the box. Apparently someone had dropped the box in transit & not bothered to check whether the pizza was OK. Called back & they delivered another non-mutilated pizza but that took another 30 minutes. In the time I wasted on getting that pizza (which ultimately was not even that good - big surprise!) I could have ordered 2 or 3 pizzas from good, reputable places.

Service here really sucked. This may be a chain restaurant and they try to offer different types of pizza - the only appealing thing about here is their cheap prices but the lady at the counter charged me $1.00 for two things of side ranch for pizza (the boyfriend likes to dip pizza into ranch). I had placed an order for pick-up and it still wasn't ready after 20 minutes (when they told me 10-15 minutes).

That the home of deep dish pizza allows this chain to operate within the city limits is mystifying. That anyone actually would buy it is flabbergasting.
