The food is good enough. You're hungry, you're in a grocery store, and you want to eat. The bibimbap is pretty good and they bring it out still steaming hot. Also, I got the bulgolgi beef and it was delicious. They serve it with some vegetables and rice. The tables are always disgusting.
Review Source:Not sure why the reviews are so bad, but I had a good experience. Â The owner recommended the cod fish stew and we ordered the pork belly stir fry. Â The broth was fishy and shrimp (in a good way). Â The cod was very tender and fresh. Â The pork belly was my favorite. It was spicy and sweet, paired with rice and condiments, this was a very good lunch.
Review Source:I had an extremely unpleasant encounter when dining at this cafe. Â The cashier/owner, an older Korean man took our order. Â He was not pleasant at all and did not even greet us. Â I ordered 2 dishes to go. Â Realizing later that I had forgotten to specify "to go," I go to the counter and told him. He pointed to a hot tray that had just come out of the kitchen and rudely told me that it was too late for me to get it to go. Â The food was already out. Â He decidely did not want to pack it for me. Â The cook corrected him and told him that the food was not mine and that my order was still cooking in the kitchen. Â The man did not apologize. Â He screamed that I needed to pay for the to go containers which I didn't have any issue with paying in the first place. Â He SNATCHED my money out of my hand and scratched my hand while doing so. Â I was so livid and told my friend in front of this man that we are never returning. Â He handed over the bag of food and didn't thank us for our business. I left feeling extremely angry at the treatment of this "businessman." What poor service for mediocre and overpriced Korean food! Â I'd rather go somewhere where the owners at least respect thier customers!!!!
Review Source:I want to review this higher, as it was one of my first Korean experiences.. but the quality has gone down the longer this place as been here.
They guy is ALWAYS rude no matter what, free water is tepid and just "out there"... exposed to microbes which freaks me out. Okay, I'm over thinking this I know.
The food *was* good, but seriously you charge extra for take-out? Thats crazy!
My favorite is the squid, but the prices are so high in comparison to what you get (which I've noticed the prices are normal for Korean restaurants, just the quantity varies)
If you want a full meal set here go here, but its a food court and this isn't a real Korean restaurant, just go to Manna right next to it for some quick and delicious bites instead!
The Pork Bulgogi was AMAZING. Â I highly recommend it.
They give you a huge portion of your main entree.
Unlike your normal Korean places, Du-Re-Bak plays light on the condiments. That's okay by me; this is fast food.
You get your food on a metal tray with indentations for the side dishes -- which makes you feel like an inmate or middle school student -- and a HUGE bowl for your food. Again, fine by me.
First of all, the mad looking man that takes the order needs to seriously adjust his attitude towards his customers...
Not even a hello or a simple thank you.
For a food court, self-service restaurant inside a grocery store, everything is so OVER priced! With that kind of price, I might as well go to a sit-down restaurant with a wait service with some extra banchans (side dishes).
Bibim Naeng Myun was just way too sweet and the portion size was small for a $10 Naeng Myun entree.
Wouldn't go out of my way to go there and eat! I would probably do the opposite! Don't waste your money!
Don't go there if you don't speak the language.
I went there as a side trip of H-Mart shopping the other day. Â It passed peak dinner time so the wait wasn't bad. Â The waiter doesn't have too much smile on her face, but it's typical food court style so I don't mind at all.
I ordered haejangguk and I waited for about 10 minutes until they called my number. Â When I see my tray, I was speechless. Â I only got countable marinated sprouts (probably around 5 sprouts) and other sides. Â It is immediately noticeable because the quantity for each appetizer is so small. Â I've been to this eatery several times before and I had never seen such a scarce quantity. Â What is worse, when I peaked at the dishes the family sat next to my table which I heard ordering with Korean, their got so much appetizers that the tray are too small to fill.
And the food is not cheap, either, the beef is really hard to chew. Â There are a lot of things $8 can do, I mourned for my $8 spent on this meal.
I have a horrible cold that has just taken a turn for the worse and was in need of some TLC. Mama Liz M. took me to Durebak Korean Restaurant for a big ol' bowl of spicy hot beef soup. Yummers! It cleared up my sinuses and nourished my soul.
The bowl was served on a compartmentalized lunch tray. Sort of like an over sized TV dinner tray. The soup came with a big bowl of rice, some bean sprouts, kimchi, and marinated black beans. All good stuff!
Durebak is conveniently located inside Super H Mart so afterward we got our Korean shoppy shop on. Thanks Liz!
Coming to H-Mart is closer than going to Mitsuwa for your asian grocery necessities... I like coming here for the spicy pork cravings I get from time to time (okay, often!). The spicy pork at Durebak is spicier than some other places I have tried. It "comes" with kimchi, which is more like three tiny pieces. It also comes with sprouts, broccoli, and rice. For $10 it isn't bad, but I wish they would give more kimchi. I also saw a sign that said there is a fee if you order it to go LOL. Other than that, service is polite.
Review Source:This is a food station located within the food court of H Mart. Pick any item and many are entrees which come with Kim chi, white rice and another kind of relish. Entrees are about $10+ and it takes about ten minutes for them to prepare. Eat there in the food court or take it to go. I had a hankering for Sam kyub sal Kim chi bokkum take out, think long strips of bacon prepared with fried kimchi, onions, etc.. The taste can sometimes be slightly sweet and a bit spicy due to the Kim chi. The taste was just very average, prepared by a novice maybe. The dish was so oily there was oil leaking out of the bag, on my carpet in the car and then all over the table. The almost twelve dollars spent on the dish was far too much spent for mediocre. One thing for certain, it's hard to find this dish at any Korean restaurant for a lessor price. Â If I could, I'd rate them 2.5 stars for now.
