Decent beers on tap. Not sure if it's supposed to be a pub or a sports bar? It seems to be more of a place where the cooks and managers from the restaurant next door hang out. Identity still unknown. It's attached to a restaurant and there is a nice patio out back empty of people on the night we went. Huge place. I think a redesign or clear identity is needed for the bar. The beers are pretty pricey. Luckily, we hit happy hour and got a dollar off each beer. Still too pricey for us to go back.
Review Source:It's A-OK as the three stars would indicate. I've been here a bunch of times and it's never great nor bad. The food from next door is good and the service is decent. The back patio is awesome and I'd probably give it four stars if it was open past 9 (darn neighbor complaints!). I don't go often but when I do it's because of the televisions and food. You can sit anywhere and pretty much see two different LA sports events. They took out the gladiator chairs so it's easier to find a seat now but they're still kind of awkward and not really comfortable for some reason. I can't pinpoint why really. Maybe it's the way if there is someone at the next table across from you they're constantly looking in your direction at the TV behind you or something?
The biggest problem is the beer prices. $5.50 ... $4.50... what's with the 50 cents? Do you insist your bartenders get 50 cent tips? Whatever, that's not the problem, the problem is that those are the prices for PBR and BUD. Sure you can charge premium for some "craft" beers but PBR and BUD? Maybe it's a deterrant so people don't buy it. A soft way of saying "get some real beer bro" but they serve Stella too so they can't be THAT snobby. There's a happy hour from 5-7 so that is nice. If you're gonna drink there just get some whiskey or something. I always forget they have the hard stuff now.
Mixed mostly local crowd which I think is good. Basically all the people that aren't at Colombos or Black Boar. Wings, whiskey and watching TV.
we basically live across the street from the place but hardly EVER go there. its not very inviting and the decor kinda sucks (sorry to whoever designed it). there is just nothing special about how the place looks.
but, since i cancelled cable, i had nowhere to watch the UCLA game so we decided to walk over there.
well, after a couple of beers i started getting hungry (let me digress and say that they have some of the BEST wings around!! we get them to go at least once a month!)
i wanted to try something different so i had the blue cheese burger- great choice!! it was delicious!!
Scott, our server, was awesome as well!
so, as much as i dont know the look of the place, it may be my new go to for games that i might miss. the guys in there were cool enough to put the game on the TV that was right in front of me.
i'll be back......
