This was our second attempt at Asian food in our neighborhood and we loved it! We haven't gone elsewhere since! I see that there are a lot of low ratings for this place and I'm not sure why. It's clean, the food and service is great and its inexpensive! Couldn't ask for more!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! This was my first time eating food from here - figured I would stop since it's right off the Brown line and has pretty good prices. In the middle of eating my sesame chicken, I bit down on something hard, hurt my tooth, and pulled a piece of metal out of my food. Disgusting and unsanitary restaurant!!

Between the horrid reviews and the disgruntled vibe emanating from the the woman who takes your order, I almost feel sorry for this place.  You get what you pay for.  It's relatively inexpensive (for the neighborhood) and it's magically convenient fast-food.  So naturally the tast and quality of ingredients is extremely compromised.  You can enjoy a hot cup of chicken soup for $4, granted it's filled with salt and freezer nubs of peas and carrots.

The food is pretty standard Chinese - I've had better and worse. The bonus is that it's so convenient being right off the Damen brown line stop. Due to the location this has become my go-to takeout dinner option after returning from a trip out of town.

I appreciate that the food is made quickly - usually ready for pick up within 15 minutes of ordering. When I'm starving after a long flight back it's a godsend!

I'm speechless...fine I'll give it a shot: The fact that somebody got scoulded at right in front of me in line, should have been an indication that this to-go place was not kosher. Trying to communicate with the very rude lady behind the counter was one thing, but to come home with way overpriced, and below-average food was plain frustrating and  annoying. I mean, how can you charge a whopping $6,50 for a very small sweet and sour soup that tastes like a cheap extract from Uncle Bens sauce mixed with outdated sushi.

The shrimp fried rice ($7) was nothing but old, dried shrimp who covered the very top of my gaint container filled with nothing but rice. I can go on for ever, but it's not worthed.

I ordered the General Tao's Shrimp and potstickers.  I opened the potstickers and they were huge doughy overstuffed puffs.  So I moved over to open the Shrimp.  I couldn't get through the dough to find the shrimp!  It was disgusting!  Literally half an inch of dough around each of the shrimp.  They were all soggy so the dough fell off as you tired to pull it out of the container.  I called the restaurant, asking if that was the way the food was really supposed to be prepared.  They said yes. I threw away their menu....and the food.  never again!

First time ordering from here.  Ordered sweet and sour chicken dinner and Kung pao chicken, diet coke, and egg drop soup.  They forgot my diet coke and soup so I had to call them.  Very disappointed... I absolutely hate when places forget stuff for delivery.
Sweet and sour chicken was soggy. Kung Pao chicken was very salty and bland.  Had no spice at all!  Did not taste like Kung pao.
Will not order from here again.

Not great.  A little better than bad.  This is getting a 2 because 1.5 rounds up to 2.

    Pros:
    --Lots of selection of food
--You get a decent amount of food with the dinner special
--Right off the Damen Brown Line

    Cons:
--The service is pretty bad.  I went there once and the lady was asleep.  I went there again and the lady just stated at me.
--The price is fairly high for the quality ($9.95 for dinner special)
--The food is void of anything special...very standard to below standard cheap asian food.

Conclusion: Go there for convenience only

Not really a fan of Chinese food but really like the food here.  I can't speak on all of the dishes and can't figure out the hot dog fried rice one, but the steamed dumplings and pot stickers are great.

The wraps are pretty good...my daughter loves them and she is not big on wraps.  The service is amazing...they always say that the food will be there in an hour, but it is usually there in 25-30 minutes.  I had to learn the hard way the first time I ordered from them...placed the order, jumped into the shower and the phone rang for the front door.  Never again.

Also love the dinner specials that they offer...you get a lot of food for the price (appetizer, soup and entree for dinner).

I have used their online ordering system and have never gotten a wrong order...extra stuff but I have never not gotten what I ordered :-)

Overall, this is a great place for quick, hot and fast food.  Is it the best Chinese food in Chicago?  Probably not, but for the price and fast delivery you can't beat it.

Go here at least once a week, always on time, and the food is great.  Highly recommend General Tso's chicken.. lunch special is very reasonable at about $7.00.  Yes, the woman is not charming at all at the front counter.. but in my opinion neither is the constant superficial politeness of our culture.. she gets me my food, it's really good, and quick.. 4 stars.

I went some time back and was really disappointed. I've since been back a few times and I've had a completely different experience. The food is still kind of average, in my opinion...we have some really amazing Chinese and Thai restaurants in Lincoln Square so competition is fierce out here. I have to say though...their fresh fruit smoothies/bubble smoothies are AMAZING. I'm a bubble tea/bubble smoothie fanatic and that's where some of the other local places fall short a bit. Not everyone offers them. This place has a ridiculous amount of options. I've tried three or four different ones now and they're all excellent. The tapioca bubbles are the perfect consistency--not too soft or hard. So...so-so on food, but amazing drinks and even though the service is not really super friendly, they definitely don't keep you waiting for too long.

Food is fine. Nothing to write home about, but never awful. The lady the runs the counter couldn't really be less charming which isn't illegal, but c'mon, it's your job. Maybe smile or say thank you or even act like you maybe care a little.

I normally don't write reviews because I feel like you only get negative comments. I ordered late on July 4th from Grub Hub. I got my food on time and everything was fine until I bit into my orange chicken, it was not chicken it was pork. I didn't call back that night because they were already closed. So while calling back the lady that answered the phone was yelling at me saying they don't serve orange pork. No sh*t? I know you don't serve orange pork, if I could give them 0 stars I would. I will never order from this terrible "restaurant" again.

Just a below average Chinese takeout/delivery place.  The food is okay, pretty Americanized Chinese food.  The flavors you are hoping for aren't there.  Worth a try if you need something fast and you are right by the Brown Line on Damen.  The one thing they do get right is thier smoothies.  I have tried the Banana and Mango and they both were outta this world good. Fresh fruit and well made.  Makes this 2 star joint into a 3.

I liked the rice noodle at China Hut on Lawrence but  I thought I'd try a noodle dish at Eat & Drink.  I ordered Combination Mongolian Noodles and was underwhelmed by the few baby shrimps, beef,  uneven chunks of chicken tenders and a few slivers of green onion and carrots.  the taste was ok and it was not too spicy.

At least at China Hut the meat was abundant at nearly the same price level.

We placed an order for carryout. I ordered my usual orange chicken with fried rice and my bf ordered mushroom chicken. Orange chicken and mushroom chicken were delicious. I'm a big fan of really spicy orange chicken. Fried rice left a little something to be desired. Overall the food was pretty good.

Had to take away 3 stars for service and prices. Apparently the chef forgot to put the plate of orange chicken in the bag. We had even asked the women at the counter if everything was in the bag since they had knotted the bag. She assured us and we left. We got home to find my orange chicken missing. I called the restaurant and told them that they had forgotten to include the orange chicken. I politely asked if they could have my chicken ready so I could just pick it up. The woman on the phone was very rude. She was constantly interrupting me then put me on hold to talk to the chef. When she came back, she told me that the chef said that he had put the orange chicken in the bag and that I'm wrong. Wrong?! At this point I was hungry and pissed off. After several more minutes arguing with that woman, I heard the chef in the background speaking to the woman. She then says that the chicken is in fact still there. Does she apologize? No but asks if I'm on my way?

By far, the worse service I've ever had to deal with. I did really like the orange chicken but I dont see myself ordering from there anytime soon.

Most reliable service I have ever had in a chinese restaurant. We usually receive our food within 30 minutes(we live within a mile of the restaurant). Food is always consistently good. General Taos chicken, pork fried rice and crab rangoons are excellent. Keep up the good work!

honestly, I love this place. I saw a comment about the older lady working and I just have to remind ppl everyone is human. bottom line, I don't care if u don't speak to me I just want good food. I've never had an issue with an order and the more I visit the better the service. this is the ONLY place where I get chinese. its a quick stop on my way home from work, great prices, and again its pretty good food.

I can't think of much to say, except that this is the most redneck Asian restaurant I've ever experienced (not a compliment).

It started with my apartment being littered with their menus. That's fine and expected when you live in Chicago. But hot dog fried rice? Mongolian or curry hot dog? It's a turn off to see these kind of dishes on a menu. It automatically brings up a caution flag to me.

Plus, I know that sesame chicken is normally fried, but sesame fried beef? Maybe I've had too much beef and broccoli and Mongolian beef, but I'm sorry, my order was kind of gross.

Tried this place one day when I was going through Grubhub looking for Asian food, and I remember passing by when going to a bar nearby.

Very fast delivery, almost faster than Sarpinos!

I can say they do their vegetable dishes very well!!  It is hard for me to find a good "Chinese" place that can make a hearty veggie dish.  Not greasy like other places around.  I wish they did pan fried vegetable dumplings but the steamed are still good.

Now I have my second favorite Chinese place over here in Ravenswood, and it makes my tummy oh so happy!!!

I ordered online... that went smoothly.   They predicted an hour wait for delivery... It was exactly 1 hour.  i ordered sesame chicken and brown rice.  WOW was it bad!  mushy... super sweet .... and something like a microwave dinner.  not good.   oh well, i tried.

Very good! Pot stickers were great, even the wife liked them and she's usually picky. Egg rolls I'd give a 4/5.. They were big, nicely fried, but had a 'unique' flavor to them.. I still ate three of them, so...

Mongolian beef was decent. I ordered extra beef, and it was a decent amount. Not a fan of the Kung Pao chicken or sezchaun chicken.

Crab rangoon is a definite winner.

-1 star for being somewhat overpriced and a bit stingy.. 4 pot stickers? Come on.. every other Chinese place gives you 6..

Stopped in for the first time after a three-hour flight from Las Vegas and a two-hour El ride from Midway. Desperately seeking nourishment. Starving. Would have eaten the plastic container, if it had been salted.

    1) Size - Ordered the small portion. It was big enough for three meals. Huge. Ginormous. Can't imagine anyone who'd order the large size, unless it was for a wedding reception with about 50 guests.

    2) Contents - mostly rice, a few vegetables. Would be better if the ratio had shifted more in favor of veggies.

    3) Color - kind of dark brown.

    4) Temperature - plenty hot. Steaming.

    5) Price - $6.00. For the amount, very reasonable.

    6) Taste - okay. Probably better than the plastic container, before salt.

    7) Fast - up in less than 10 minutes.

    8) Staff/service - said hello, what can I get for you, rang up my purchase, collected my money, made change, and put order in. Handed bag to me when it was ready and said thanks. I said, thanks. You will not find this encounter under "missed connections" in the Reader.

    9) Order again? -- Eh. . . maybe not. Am willing to give other selections a try, though.

Final impression - it was hot, it was brown, and there was plenty of it. Sometimes that's enough.

The staff are adorable. They always seem so happy to have customers. And I'm always in awe of the giant fish they have. The food here is tasty and the prices are decent. I definitely recommend the orange chicken.

This review is based solely on a smoothie purchase.  Don't do it!  They use fresh fruit instead of frozen and add about a cup of ice to it.  It's completely watered down with very little flavor.  Plus they charge $1 extra for tapioca bubbles, so it's over $5.  It was still refreshing because, well, it's got a lot of water in it!  Snow Spice on Western has great mango bubble tea for $3.50 (at least last summer they did).   But Eat n Drink is on my walk home from work, so I'm now sad I need to go out of my way for my bubble tea fix.

I was excited to see another carry out chinese option in my neighbor and quoting that it was healthy. I order mapodofu and chicken fried rice and was disappointed that it  way more greasy then my regular place.

I ordered takeout and thought the food was good. The dinner special is a great deal - you get egg drop soup, an eggroll, a crab rangoon, fried rice, and a choice of about 15 different entrees, all for about $11. The portions were not stingy either - I had plenty leftover for another meal. I really liked the crab rangoon, but then again, what's not to like about something fried and stuffed with cream cheese & crab! I ordered the garlic shrimp as my entree and it was good, although I did not get a garlic flavor at all. It really just tasted like shrimp & veggies. The fried rice was really good too - I haven't had that in like 7 years!!

The restaurant itself is really small, but very clean inside (a big change from the previous spot which I wouldn't have ordered food from if you had paid me $500). I won't probably ever dine in as it feels to me like more of a takeout/delivery spot. Although they do have a few tables if you choose to eat there. I don't eat chinese food all that often but it's nice to know this spot is here when I get a craving for it.

For me, Eat n Drink is palatable Chinese food that is practically next door to my apartment. The price is right, service is quick, portions are generous, menu is large and contains a good amount of veggie options. Food is really just average... all about location here. I'll likely be a repeat customer until I move or they close.... whichever comes first.

I've never eaten the food here, but had a fruit mango and lychee smoothie which I thought was delicious.  But the prices here are pretty outrageous to me.  They wanted to charge an extra $1 for tapioca. That would have brought my drink well over $5.  Thats ridiculous. In San Francisco I can get this stuff for $3 WITH tapioca.  The portions for the small were almost $8.  I didnt order any food so I dont know how "large" a small is but $8 for a small just sounds like a lot.  Compared to Chinatown, this place is a rip off.  Compared to Argyle, this place is a rip off. The woman at the counter wasnt very friendly either.

Ordering Eat N Drink online for delivery was a truly bad experience.  First, the food was 30 minutes late (but still hot, so I'll cut them some slack).  Second, I had ordered chicken kung po, but what they delivered was beef kung po.  The big problem, however, is that the food was exceedingly salty. I know Chinese food tends to be salty, but this was ridiculous.  The occassional unsalty bite showed some potential for our food, but those bites were few and far between.

We had the mongolian bbq pork and and beef kung po.  I would not order again.

Sorry Eat N Drink, but it just wasn't even close to average.  Hopefully you were having an off night.

Liked it alot.  Very interesting and different vegetarian options.  I had the General Tao's Tofu, very good.  I ate about half of a small potion, the vegetable soup and it filled me up, but not in a painful way.  I also got a smoothie, strawberry and lychee, yummy.

The building is very clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating.  I definitely plan on calling them up in the future, maybe for delivery.  Reasonably priced and the wait for food not to long.

Super fast delivery, decent food for what I was expecting, the tofu in the Ma Po Tofu was not good, or cooked how it usually is in this dish- very watery and flavorless (not that I'm expecting a load of flavor from tofu- I'm just saying).  The fried rice was good though and so was the veggie egg roll I had.  All in all I would probably order from them again.

I hate being profiled in an Asian restaurant. Blonde? Yes. Fork? No... hand over the chop sticks.

Beyond the profiling, there are a few things that should be givens in a Chinese restaurant. Fried rice? Egg drop soup? These are among the few. The dry. flavorless fried rice and overly viscous, "underly" tasty soup weren't doing it for me at  8:00pm after a long day at work.

But the proximity to the station, the ridiculous deal ($10.95 for an entree, rice, soup, wonton, crab rangoon, and cookie...pretty unbeatable), are the facts that are making me go easy on them with the third star.

But the next few months will have to show some spunk and some spice for continued dining and Yelp credibility.

I was very impressed with this place.  I called my order in for pick-up and it was ready in 15 minutes or so.  I had the Sesame Chicken and it was fabulous.  I usually order this dish from Chens in Lakeview and it ends up costing a lot after delivery, etc.  I paid $7.45 after tax for a small and it was enough for me with a little leftovers for later.  I found it to be hot, fresh, and full of flavor.  I am actually really excited to try more things.  They have a lot on their menu.  I should say, I thought the Hot Dog Fried Rice and the other hot dog dishes were kind of strange.  Especially if they are trying to appear more healthy :-)  I can see past that though.  I am a big fan of Eat N Drink and look forward to trying it again!

I also agree that the people who work there are super friendly (which is funny because I walked by a few times on the first few days they opened and the place did not seem very inviting - there were no customers, no posted menus, and staff that looked like they did not want to be there.)  Don't be afraid.  This place is great!  I recommend!

Tried this place tonight, and was very impressed.  The place is very clean, which can be an issue for me and Chinese restaurants.  The food tastes great but doesn't give you that 'stuffed' feeling.

I recommend getting the dinner special, which includes soup, appetizer and entree for $10.00.

Stopped in to pick up a menu and ended up with dinner. The place is spartan--I'll take lack of decor and clean floors any day. Staff are nice and the service was prompt. I ordered sesame tofu and a vegetable egg roll. The tofu was really crispy on the outside and soft inside, which can be difficult to achieve. There was some broccoli and a brown sauce and plenty of sesame seeds. Yum. The egg roll was standard, but good. I will definitely return.

Ravenswood's new fast-food Chinese joint has now opened!  Thankfully Eat N Drink has replaced Lee's Dynasty and now an aroma of edible food has taken over the neighboring Damen El Stop.  This is Eat N Drink's second location in the city, the first is a little hut off Randolph downtown with hit or miss reviews.

As for this Damen location, their online ordering system is still in the works so I ordered over the phone.  I placed my order without any language barrier (a plus) and the employee was very friendly (a big plus).  I'm not the only one to think that this can sometimes be a concern at a Chinese eatery...

When I arrived to pick up the food I realized this little eatery could use a bit more decor since it's a tad plain.  The only things they have hanging on the walls are pictures of the various bubble tea smoothies and a small prayer altar in the corner.

I ordered a large chicken fried rice (HUGE!), a house (chicken+shrimp) egg foo young (salty goodness), a vegetable egg rolls (just average) and a chicken noodle soup (tons of noodles but very bland in flavor).  All of the entrees were average but nothing outstanding.  They did give me a free zodiac Chinese calendar which was fun.  If you're looking for a quick bite that is prepared fresh, Eat N Drink is a fair option.
