First things first: despite rumours on the internet, this place is NOT CLOSED and will be open even on Sundays starting the week after Thanksgiving. Nor does this place have any plans on closing down anytime soon. The owner herself said so, so I have it on good authority this is true.

I have been in here twice now to stock up on my Swedish stuff, and this is certainly an excellent place to get everything Swedish (and some things German!).

The first time I went, I went to get Västerbottens cheese--a sharp cheddar like cheese from my home area--and trust me, it's not easy to get abroad due to it's deliciousness and therefore also price. I, of course, ended up taking half the store home with me since IKEA is now really bad for Swedish food. This stuff is the real stuff.

I ended up getting into a discussion with the owner, Ann, about what constitutes a real cinnamon bun and how hard it is to find nowadays! She certainly knows her stuff. This is a family owned business started by Ann's mother (who is Swedish) and you can tell that they take a pride in their stock. Most of the things are Swedish, some are Nordic, and there are even some German things to make up for the sometime difficulty to ship goods from Sweden. But there is plenty of cheese, plenty of herring and plenty of Kalles Kaviar (to my husband's great joy). The Gevalia coffee is reasonably priced--try it!

If you're Swedish, love Swedish things, or would just like to try Swedish goods, this is the place for you. It's definitely worth a trip to Andersonville to visit Erickson's and support a local business.

I am from Sweden and this little store is great! It has everything I miss from Sweden.  They sell your traditional Swedish foods and candies. I walk  here to purchase pearl sugar, Swedish vanilla sugar, Kalles kaviar, tunn brod, inlagd sill, salt lakris, Swedish chocolate, meat balls, falu-korv and the list goes on and on. The lady who works in the store is very nice. It is cash or checks only. No credit.

The most important things about this place for me were that
    a. I could practice my Swedish since the owner actually speaks it
    b. They sell frozen lingonberries. Not just the jam/jelly, the real thing, which is great because there are certain recipes where using jam from IKEA is just inferior.
    c. They sell Soderblandning, which is a tea blend from Stockholm that is rather hard to find in the US

This place would be even more awesome if they sold Punsch Punsch, delicious alcoholic chocolates, but they at least sell the arrack you can use to make them. I also wish I could find chokladbollar, delicious buttery chocolate balls, somewhere.
