First I love the fact that this place (among many in Chicago) is BYOB! I was visiting a friend and he took me to this place after a long night of partying. I had the french toast and it was MAGNIFICENT! Everything looked and tasted delicious!

Order whatever you want for "breakfast"...we all know you're here for the homemade cinnamon rolls.  Each omelette, wrap and breakfast entree comes with 2 side dishes:  2 cinnamon rolls (obvious choice), biscuits, fresh fruit, applesauce, etc.  

I had the green eggs and ham--pesto eggs with ham and tomatoes, wilted spinach on the side, and I selected the cinnamon rolls and applesauce (delightful--really more like warm chunks of cinnamony apples).  The eggs were super oily, as in, they were swimming in a puddle of oil on the plate.  The eggs floating on top were great though.  My mom ordered the stuffed Swedish pancake which she felt was too sweet of an exterior to go with the interior (ham, broccoli and cheese).  

Ann's is BYOB, and the menu clearly states they have mimosa and bloody mary fixings--amazing for brunch.  

I think my family came here for dinner years ago.  I don't recall how it was.  Because really, you're here for the cinnamon rolls.

The place is more reminiscent of a neighborhood bed and breakfast than a Chicago chain. No wait wen we went during prime brunch hours. It was large and inviting.

We order a number of the typical breakfast items including banana bread french toast, crepes, oatmeal, fruit salad etc. None of it rocked my world, though none of it was particularly bad. Does it do what it claims well? You bet.

Is this place super creative and trendy like most other places in the area? Not by a long shot. Whats great about that is it keeps the sheepish wannabe "foodies" away.
