Tasted the food of endgrain today at their booth at dosemarket in the River East Art Center. Â I had the pulled pork pie, the quail egg salad on toast, the maple bacon donut, the buttermilk donut and the cocoa. Â
Can you tell I'm excited about this restaurant?
Everything was exquisite. Â The pastry of the pulled pork pie really stood on its own - flaky and flavorful! Â The pork itself was juicy without making the pie soggy, and was incredibly delicious. Â The paired kim chee was perfect. Â
The quail egg salad on toast was garnished with a spicy sauce that really sang with piquant zing.
Needless to say - Enoch's donuts were absolutely incredible. My favorite of the two was the maple and butterscotch. Â My vegetarian companion sampled the maple glaze and said that the addition of bacon must be gilding the lily. Â It was - just a wonderful combination of a perfectly fried donut, maple glaze and the wonderful salty crunch of bacon.
The food is incredible, I am certain that future diners will be as thrilled as I am!
