Endgrain

Tasted the food of endgrain today at their booth at dosemarket in the River East Art Center.  I had the pulled pork pie, the quail egg salad on toast, the maple bacon donut, the buttermilk donut and the cocoa.  

Can you tell I'm excited about this restaurant?

Everything was exquisite.  The pastry of the pulled pork pie really stood on its own - flaky and flavorful!  The pork itself was juicy without making the pie soggy, and was incredibly delicious.  The paired kim chee was perfect.  

The quail egg salad on toast was garnished with a spicy sauce that really sang with piquant zing.

Needless to say - Enoch's donuts were absolutely incredible. My favorite of the two was the maple and butterscotch.  My vegetarian companion sampled the maple glaze and said that the addition of bacon must be gilding the lily.  It was - just a wonderful combination of a perfectly fried donut, maple glaze and the wonderful salty crunch of bacon.

The food is incredible, I am certain that future diners will be as thrilled as I am!
