I stop in this Potbelly frequently after my gym workout across the street. Every time I have come in, I have had a pleasant experience, even though I am probably still smelly and gross from the gym! I usually take my food to go and they are always quick to have it ready and easily manageable to take out. As with any Potbelly, the food is great and predictable for the chain of restaurants.
Review Source:I love the Potbelly subs. Â But despite some of the other reviews here, I haven't found them to be that friendly at this location. Â
And my only question for them is: Â If a customer has a sub, a soup, and a cookie to-go, Â why do you make them ask for a bag? Â Why wouldn't you offer them a bag? And then instead of just throwing it at them, wouldn't you put their stuff in the bag for them? Â It's odd.
I live in the area, so I frequently pop in to Potbelly to grab a sandwich or a salad and pop back out. I thoroughly mostly everything they offer that I've tried, so I won't focus on that.
I'm never in during peak hours, but I can't say I know what those would be given it's on Southport, which is a chill place to grab food anyway.
What stands out about this location is that it has a huge back seating area, whereas most Potbell(ies?) are kind of cramped. I've ate in a few times and enjoyed it. I would imagine with this feature that this location might be among the most ideal for young families, which is perfect for the Southport area. They even have a play table. That's pretty unique.
Otherwise, the staff is friendly and helpful, with the kind of character you come to expect from their restaurants if you're a Chicagoland native. As one of few non-upscale dining options on Southport, it's a real pleasure to have it.
