Tanuki

Excellent addition to this cozy little corner of Lakeview.  Went on a Sunday night and could not have been more pleased with the quality and options availible.  Had a few sashimi as well as 4 different rolls.  All fresh and flavors well balanced.  Love finding a sushi place that serves quality fresh fish and knows mayo is not a neccessary ingredient!  We will be back, a lot!  Decor is typical for a west loop spot, but not as much for Lakeview- a welcome change.  Also appreciate the BYOB - hope it stays.

I went to Tanuki during their opening week on a late Friday night. Since its brand new, the place is clean and looks great. They obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the look of the place. I really like the variety on their menu. It's not only a sushi place but you can also get the robata grill and noodle dishes and more. I'm not knocking the sushi but still have to try it because I got carried away ordering other things. But the sushi that I saw going to other tables looked great.  There's so much to choose from, which means that I'll keep going back trying out new things.
