I became a fan of improv comedy last night,
I didn't know what to expect going to see "Nothing Personal", but for $5 what the hell! Â The performance was BYOB, so naturally I invited my close friends who brought in a bottle of wine +1. Â The venue was small and right on top of the action, so everything had a very personal feel to it +1.
The actual show was fantastic. Â The opening group pulled a fastball, so true to form the Nothing Personal gang filled the spot and did some on the spot improv. Â They started slow, but hit a real groove and go the audience excited for the main performance, +1 for overcoming the expected without a hitch. Â The main show had some excellent vignettes that poked fun at real world situations. Â Awkward encounters on the El, high school reunions, Craigslist missed connections. Â I was cracking up the whole night. +1 for execution and relevancy to the audience.
Afterward I had the chance to meet the whole crew. Â They are all good friends and really down to earth. Â They invited me and my friends out to the bar where we all had the chance to hang with the crew. Â They are just as funny in person as they are on stage, the last +1 awarded for awesome fan interaction.
