There's seating! Yay! Yeah, I realize that makes me an old woman, but after standing for an entire Bruno Mars show a few years ago, it's just too much standing. It's not rundown like some of the other theaters in the city, though it's not terribly updated either. Due to the stadium seating in the balcony, everyone can see and hear (we saw Bo Burnham). However, the seats upstairs are padded benches, though you pay the same price for all seats.
Review Source:I wanted to make sure I saw a concert while on vacation in Chicago. Â The Vic was a short 15 min cab ride from our downtown hotel. Â I felt like I was at home in Minneapolis' own Varsity Theater! Â There were multiple bars, so getting a drink didn't take long at all. Â The stage was large and pretty much all the standing room floor (general admission) was close, with a good view. Â The theater has character, and there were some unique VIP type areas with tables up high on both sides of the stage. Â
I didn't go upstairs, but there also seemed to be some balcony seating up above. Â I would go here again for another cheap $30 show.
