Awesome tapas
- Service - 5 (Seated right away, attentive staff, friendly with suggestions)
- Ambiance - 3 (Small restaurant, awkward seating, weird decor)
- Baked goat cheese - 3 (Not enough cheese to tomato sauce, lacked bold flavor)
- Jalapeno gnocchi - 4 (Loved the sauce! Others would have given this a 5)
- Pork with medallions - 3 (Tender but simple, tarty sauce)
- Bacon wrapped dates - 5 (Must try!!)
- Bleu cheese crusted steak - 5 (One of our faves)
- Sangria light and not enough fruit.
This has been a place I wanted to try since I saw something about it in the Red Eye when I first moved to Chicago. I now live a few blocks away. My parents were in town and we decided to finally check it out. We were big fans of the mosaic wall - not so much fans of the little head dolls on the opposite wall. Everyone else had the mango sangria which they seemed to enjoy. Jalapeno Gnocchi, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Short Rib, and Mac and Cheese were all delicious. My girlfriend and I will definitely be stopping by again.
Review Source:This is by far our favorite restaurant in Chicago. My wife go for our date nights, when guests come in town, or special events. It's cozy, comfortable, and the owners are there every night - just super friendly and appreciative of your business.
The sangria is the best in Chicago. Couple favorites dishes are the jalapeño gnocchi, spicy seared shrimp, chicken meatballs, Mac and cheese, black bean cakes, and the banana dessert.
If you've never been, make it the top item on your to do list. Best restaurant in Chicago.
