I like the atmosphere of this tiny place off the main strip in Broad Ripple as much, if not more, than the food. The Egyptian claims to be modeled off Egypt's illustrious El Fishawy, a playground for local artists and bohemians (if you can be a bohemian Egyptian, I dunno). The hookahs are imported from Egypt, and these antique, rusty smoke kettles sure look that way.
I've spent hours playing cards here against the ambiance of foreign dialects, enjoying my falafel (it's pretty good and pungent here) and hummus. My boyfriend thought his gyro sandwich of beef and lamb was just "okay" ... but he doesn't like ethnic food much. Â Try it out if you like Middle Eastern food.
