Food - I wouldnt bother going back. Atmosphere and decor, especially outside - so gorgeous. Beige tufted sofas, yes outside, heating lamps, crystal chandeliers, so pretty! I am so over all those farm to table restaurants that look like a farm but charge $40 a plate. Food was pretty mediocre and bland. Service was pleasant but they are understaffed for sure.
Review Source:Poor inconsistent  service.  We were table of 8 and most were not impressed  with "average" food.  It is a nice scene and attractive space. I personally liked the duck liver app and the roast chicken was good.  My wife really did not like her kale salad and Salmon.  She loves kale but there is only so much raw kale with mayo and a pomegranate seed You can eat!
Review Source:Very upscale and modern new place for western Fairfield CT. Â A business partner and I shared two pizzas for lunch: smoked salmon with salmon roe and duck sausage. Â Both very good and very different. Â Super thin crust. Â I've also been here for happy hour and it's a great offer. Â South beach/LA sophistication comes to CT. Â About time.
Review Source:Chef Francois starts with local seasonal ingredients and treats them ever so gently in his preparations, so as to maintain their original flavors and integrity.
We started with a "Creamless" Yellow Squash Soup with Pumpkin Seed Oil. Â Creamless!!! Â How could that be? Â This soup was so creamy in its texture....and I was awed.
The salmon dish was a Roasted Wild Salmon with Root Vegetable Salad. Â A simple preparation, with a singular goal of making all the local ingredients shine. Â The Grilled Free Range Chicken Paillard with Winter Chopped Salad, followed the same rule. Â Both these dishes were hearty and healthy and they made for perfect lunch time options.
For our dessert course, we sampled some of that authentic goodness. Â We had an Eleven 14 Chocolate Bar. Â It was simply divine. Â I loved the play of creamy and crunchy textures in this dessert. Â With the perfect amount of sweetness, I could not stop until the last morsel disappeared from my plate.
I have had a business lunch at eleven 14 and had a good experience. Â I decided to go out for a dinner with some girls last Friday, what a mistake! Â The hostess could not have been nicer and although it was cold we opted for the outdoor seating. Â The outdoor bar area is enclosed for the winter by a tent and the atmosphere seemed fun. Â At first glance the menu is a little tough. Â I inquired about the pizza and rock shrimp (delicious) that I had during my last trip. Â The waiter told me that was only available at the bar (LOCATED TWO TABLES OVER) . Â I asked since it was not busy if the manager would let us order from that menu instead (it was literally 10 feet). Â The manager who couldn't have been ruder said no and informed us we were free to move over (TWO TABLES). There was no service moving our drinks and we gathered our things and relocated with no assistance. Â The service was poor at best in the bar area, BUT THE REAL KICKER, was while we were finishing dinner the DJ arrived. Â The 'bar tables' then were cleared to allow for the dance floor and we were asked to relocate BACK to the original area from which we were previously banished. Â Of course with no assistance. Â I had to hunt down someone to pay our bill and we quickly exited, but not before watching the prehistoric dance variety show featuring members only wearing guests. Â I will not be back soon!!!!!
Review Source:The new Greenwich "IT" place.  And by  "IT", I mean place that available women can try to meet a rich dude (this dynamic has already been covered by the NYPOST).  The decoration/design of the bar and restaurant are both great, however.  It's particularly impressive when you consider you're standing in an old defunct  "HoJo's".  The food is surprisingly decent by Fairfield County standards.  If you can stomach the scene, it's worth a shot.
I particularly liked the seafood carpaccio appetizer. Â The spicy lamb sausage is also worth a try. Â The fish, both the tuna and sea bass, are very good. Â The burger with apple smoked bacon and the roasted chicken are satisfying choices as well.
Pass on the gourmet/artisan pizzas (Yawn!) and the Flat noodle pasta with Lobster, which is uneven and bland.
Overall, worth trying at least once.
I was a bit concerned prior to my meal due to the reviews.
But I found it rather charming & sophisticated.
While my artichoke & avocado salad was flavorful, it lacked colors. Â I prefer to see some dried cranberry, tangerine or grapefruit to make the plate more interesting.
My sushi-grade yellow fin tuna was fantastic. Â Not only it was delicious, texturally it was very interesting with the carrots. Â Although I don't eat a lot of fries, I thought the zuchini fries were amazing!
My meal ended with a bang of pineapple carpaccio, which came some pink peppercorn and a scoop of gelato. Â I opted to have half a scoop each of cassis and caramel with sea salt. Â Perfect ending to a relaxing Sunday brunch.
When staying at The JHouse Greenwich, I had the opportunity to visit eleven14 Kitchen for both breakfast and dinner.  Not only were both of my meals absolutely delicious, the service, ambiance and overall vibe of the indoor/outdoor restaurant was perfect.  My morning eggs were cooked to perfection and the not-to-miss pastry basket was incredible, I highly recommend this.  For dinner, I started with the Marinated Tuna Carpaccio  which I would drive an hour from the city everyday for.  The tuna was smooth and there was just enough sauce.  For dinner, I thoroughly enjoyed the Roasted Whole Black Sea Bass, again cooked to perfection in an amazing sauce.  Lastly for dessert, I treated myself to the chocolate chip cookie and it was fantastic.  I would HIGHLY recommend eleven14 Kitchen to all those who are looking for a great meal!
Review Source:I was on a business trip few weeks ago and had the opportunity to dine at this newly opened restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. I was amazed by the cuisines it offers. For dinner, from the starter to the finish dessert, it was by far the most enjoyable dinning experience I've had at any In-Hotel restaurant. The waiters were very professional and  attentive. All the dishes we order were carefully prepared even  their breakfast orange juice is in-house made. It is quite rare to find a restaurant to have everything made in-house these days.  Aside from the food, the decor and ambiance was also very lovely, trendy but not intimidating or cold. It's not hard to notice the thoughts they put into establishing this restaurant. Overall, this is the perfect choice for business, semi-formal, celebration dinner venue.
Review Source:Eleven14 Kitchen at The JHouse Greenwich is a sweet spot to meet up with friends after work or even to go with colleagues or clients. The décor is really chic and reflects Greenwich's whole aesthetic. On the one hand the banquettes and chairs are this gorgeous, rich looking (and very comfortable) leather, while the floors are this awesome vintage looking distressed wood that looks like it was reclaimed from an old barn or something. The service is impeccable - I don't think my water or wine glass ever came close to empty, and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Chef François is fantastic. I love his philosophy of using really fresh ingredients and not fancying anything up too much for the sake of presentation. The food was delicious overall, but my favorite was definitely the steak tartare. Can't wait to see what they do for the fall menu!
Review Source:Really just average food. The descriptions aren't really that accurate on the menu or by the waiter (for example, i would not have ordered the Mushroom Toast and the fish special had I known they both were overwhelmed with caramelized onions. There's only so many caramelized onions you can deal with in one meal.) My fish was actually not good - I couldn't finish it. It was red snapper that was overly cooked and dry. The raisin/caramelized onion flavor completely overpowered the fish and the combination of the two was less than good. They mentioned a side of rapini (broccoli rabe) but there were 3 little stalks, there were many more caramelized onions with raisins. I held out hope for dessert, mainly b/c the pastry room when you walk in looks and smells incredible. Unfortunately, our salted caramel gelato should have been called "salt gelato" - it was not edible. Our delicious looking chocolate chip cookie was weirdly crumbly and bland. I didn't even try the cheesecake. I was so bored by the rest of it.
The atmosphere or "scene" was better than the food, however, we found it amusing that there were 5-6 tables of more than 5 women. It was like a sex and the city convention. I'd go back for a drink outside if I was in the mood for a scene, but would probably scoot over to Baang down the street for food afterwards. Beautiful restaurant, but when I know I can cook significantly better than what I'm paying $75 for in food, I leave sorely disappointed. "Meh" is the perfect description for this experience.
I haven't had one bad dish here. I've mostly had the simpler food like the cheese plate, sausage pizza, artichoke and avocado salad, pastrami sandwich, and breakfast fruit, granola, and pastries. I normally don't eat sausage and pastrami but they are supposedly made in house by a guy whose worked with the chef for many years and are really something special. The server told me the pastries are also made from scratch in house. The pizza dough is really good--I think it has olive oil brushed over it. The artichoke/avocado salad has a great texture--it's made with fresh (not pickled) artichoke and it's neither too mushy or too crunchy. There is a new bar menu with shrimp tacos--everything including the tacos are prepared in house and it is incredibly good. They were very accommodating and cooked up bacon at dinner when my picky 6 year old son was there. I haven't been during busy periods so I can't speak to service issues. I really like the food--it's very fresh and unusual but somehow comforting. Unfortunately, from the reviews it seems like the "scene" and the service are overshadowing a very outstanding culinary experience. Count me in as a fan--but I'm definitely not going during the busy times for now anyway.
