I've eaten at F Street Station each of my trips to Anchorage. Â The food here is the best. Â They have the regular bar-and-grill food with an Alaska spin including fresh seafood offerings. Â I recently had grilled halibut. Â It was grilled to perfection with sear marks and a little seasoning, not over or underdone, flaked perfectly to the fork and then to my palette. Â Someone sitting by the grill told me that the fish was fresh caught and the fillets were cut straight from the fish to the grill. Â It had a nice cucumber salad on the side. Â I always get whatever local seafood entree they offer and have never been disappointed.
F Street Station is a really relaxed place, it gets busy and its a small place, but it doesn't get too loud. Â Regardless of the wait the food and atmosphere is definitely worth the wait. Â The staff is really nice and I love the mason jars that they serve drinks in.
Seems like a combination of locals, out-of-town business and tourists frequent, so lots of opportunity to meet people and have interesting conversation. Â Great location down town.
