I'm a sucker for a good dive bar and this is about as good as it gets.
Mandy and Daniel are awesome bartenders. They're both really friendly and easy to talk to. When I first moved to Alaska this place was a a nice refuge where I could go and get some greasy (see: delicious) bar food, a Black Butte, a Jameson and some good conversation.
I haven't been around for their karaoke night but the small local bands that they showcase on the weekend are usually awesome and really fun.
Love this watering hole!
I didn't know this place had cocktail in the name...
Anyhoo, this place is a clean hole in the wall. One of the first things I noticed, besides the low lighting and seedy entrance, is the clean air. We got a pitcher of Shock Top and split a bacon cheeseburger with fries for 22.50, and it wasn't one of those small pitchers neither. The interior is dark and small with the table tops being the most interesting. All are handmade decorated with sparkles, old liquor bottles, seashells etc...
Good service, dark atmosphere, clean air, what more could you ask for?
