New Peanut Farm

So I'm a stranger in town but I'm wielding the all-powerful Yelp Mobile App.  I'm in the mood for a sports bar and the App brings me here.  Once again my fellow Yelpers are right on because this is a standard three star place.

I blow in on a Sunday afternoon and discover that this is a big place as sports bars go.  The bar is also big and there are lots of booths and tables.  The overall atmosphere is a little odd.  There are loads of TVs of several sizes and many of them were turned off.  It gave the place and odd half-open feel.  The top of the bar itself is a strange white plastic.  I'm sure it's easy to clean put once again it looked odd. I visited the men's room and discovered the stall had no door.  That's just plain tacky.  When I was there it was very slow with maybe a dozen patrons.

I sat at the bar and ordered a drink.  My bartender was fine and the quality of service was fine throughout my stay.  Of course that wasn't hard as it was very slow.

I perused the large menu and there was everything you would expect.  I ordered the Pastrami Dip for $11.25.  It was served with Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard and came with a pickle and fries.  I'm a huge fan of pastrami so I was hoping for something special.  Nope.  It was fine but I'd call it just A OK.  

So for me it was just another sports bar with a slightly odd vibe. If somebody invited me to watch a game here I'd say "sure." What I wouldn't  say is "Oh wow, that's great!"  There was just nothing memorable about my visit.

I came in with a group of 6 one night, just looking to order drinks and appetizers. We expected to rack up quite a bill with everyone planning on multiple drinks that night. However, one of the people in my group received his beer with a foreign object floating in it. The waitress took it back, and came back to tell us it was a rubber band, and that they would serve it to someone else. (WTF?!) When my friend asked for a replacement drink, she said she would have to charge him for BOTH drinks (including the drink with a rubber band in it that were just going to serve to another customer!). We asked to speak with the manager, who was apparently not there that night, but was being covered by another staff member. When she came to speak to us, she also refused to comp him his dirty drink.  She was extremely snobby and rude about it. We told her this was terrible service, and felt like all of our drinks were likely compromised, so would not be paying for anything. All she said was, "OK" (rudely) and let us walk out. This is an example of the ABSOLUTE WORST customer service I have ever encountered. What kind of restaurant doesn't comp a contaminated meal or drink?!! This place is clearly not very clean, and they will not do anything to own up to their own mistakes. We never even got a simple apology! Avoid this place, especially if you care about what's in your drinks--or who had the drink before you!

The drinks are okay here, but the food is lousy.  We ordered chicken strips and chicken wings.  Not a lot of wings for the price, first off.  Secondly, they were just okay.  Not great...not bad...but we've definitely had better.  The chicken strips - definitely out of a bag or box.  They were deep fried in a way that the skin just shelled off like a casing.  It was weird.  And the fries were super greasy.  On top of it all, the service was slow.  We won't be back.
