Piper's Restaurant & Lounge

So....anywhere near Lake Hood you usually have 2 options - Millenium & Pipers (I wish there were more) and neither of them were really that great. Yes, they have great decks, but let's be honest, aside from having a few drinks there that's really all there is. The food in both joints has always been somewhat of a "meh". It's never been a place I would seek out to eat at nor would I ever recommend the food there. HOWEVER, I recently went there & was pleasantly surprised! They've completely changed the menu. They've shortened the menu and are creating some delicious dishes. We had some salads - which were all tasty & the guy sitting next to me at the bar said his seafood dish was delicious as well.
So now I'm actually excited that there's a spot on Lake Hood with a nice deck, good drinks (here's hoping to a better beer selection - some more local would be nice!) and.....good food!!

Piper's reminds me of the Moose Lounge in the Millenium Hotel. A couple of TVs on with sports, long bar, old bartender, slightly pricey drinks. We also ordered nachos, which came out with beef instead of the ordered chicken, but it was okay.

Will come again if in the area, though will most likely not seek this place out.

I have been coming here for years. They have one of the best patios in town. Their one of best sports bars I have been to. Everywhere you look you can see TV. There is not a bad spot to sit. They open the bar early on Sunday's during football...and the breakfast is so worth getting up early to make sure you get a seat, and watch all the games. Last time I went in there were windows in the restaurant...and they remodeled the restaurant. It looks great.:)
