One of the better Pearl River bars. Pours an excellent Guinness, Definite local crowd. The bartender was very friendly... Â
Late night crowd seems to be not the typical bar hopping crowd which is good.
It has an old local Irish bar feeling....
The food is typical bar food, nothing special.
TF Noonan's...I see a clientele too cool to go party in Nyack, and too dumb to make it over to White Plains for a REAL good time. Â This crowd does have the energy, and it is capable of so much more, I just think the venue constrains it. Â Not big enough. Â Old crowd. Â Townies. Â Everyone knows each other, same shit every weekend. Â I think if everyone in Noonan's picked up and went to a good bar or a wild lounge, the results would be epic. Â In the meantime, keep enjoying fried everything sampler platters. Â They aren;t bad, but best thing about them is how late they are available. Â And it's not cool to put a $20 in the jukebox anymore.
Review Source:One of the few bars I go to when up in Rockland for a visit. Â I remember when Noonan's first opened over 10 years ago and I think they keep getting better and better. Â The crowd here at night is definitely more tame and mature than some of the other bars down the street, but the music is still fun and lively. Â The bartenders are friendly and their pours are generous. Â Their food is standard pub fare--not much to screw up there, but the kitchen is open late which is always great. Â They have an outside patio area with a bar back there, but is also open year round for smokers. Â I heard they just purchased the space next door for parties and such..glad they are doing so well!
Review Source:There is a lot of small Pubs, bars and saloons in this town but this is one of my favorite's places.Good bartenders and this place fills up on the busy weekend night's one thing that stands out for this bar is the outdoor area with a bar and plasma's must for smoker's splace has my to dumbs up!
Review Source:One of the better Pearl River pubs, especially in terms of service. It's pretty professional and friendly, which goes a long way with me.
That said the food is pretty darn good - I usually stick with sandwiches but they are definitely great. Their Buffalo chicken sandwich is so amazing, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now, four days after I last tasted it. The wing sauce has a really nice kick to it. I normally ask for it grilled not breaded, but the sauce is so good I don't notice that I'm eating "healthier". Delicious sweet potato fries too.
They have a nice outdoor seating area with a little tiki bar to enjoy during the warmer months.
Hands down the best bar in Rockland  county let alone Pearl River.  Great place to hang out with friends and drink beer.  A true drinking man's bar. Great place to watch all sporting events and they will even allow you to host fantasy drafts there too.  The food is excellent and the ownership is extremely friendly.
Review Source:Nice place good bar food and great waitress though our area was not that busy.
Buffalo wings were excellent and nachos and buffalo chicken appetizer also good and custom made with no problem.
The cheeseburger and taco salad and buffalo chicken wrap were enjoyed by all.
The only problem is no Coors Light (the most universal bar draft!) available and ended up with bottle in warm glass so beer not that good unless you like their draught offerings.
Tasted others beers and they were on warm side too-no thanks!
Its an Irish pub style so what else can you expect.
Looks like a good place to catch the games on w/e.
One problem for our night was a group of parents actually having their 12 year olds sit at a separate table and they did not fit in -ITS A BAR for Gods sake and you celebrated your kids birthday in a bar setting?
That was kind of tasteless as the kids were trouncing all over the place and playing the jukebox while mommy and daddies were getting wasted.
Then they sang Happy Birthday at about 9:30 when this bunch should have been at Chuckie Cheese!
But overall a safe and good choice you probably wont be disappointed.
I'm sure this is a great place to just drink beers and socialize with your peeps. It certainly seemed like it last night when we went there for a pint or two and some food.
The pints? Just fine, thank you. The waitress was really nice, too. The food, SALTY. It's bar food so I expect it to be a bit salty but MAN. I felt like I was going to have a stroke after eating the French Onion soup and half of a buffalo chicken wrap. I'm pretty sure the soup was concentrated and no one knew it needed water or broth or something. Wow.
The crowd was kind of chuckleheadish, too. Dudes talking about Jersey Shore house rentals was the big tip off...
All in all, it was OK. There are a lot more bars to explore in Pearl River so I'm hoping we'll find our "local" for Sunday pints.
Probably my favorite bar in the area, love the beer garden for watching day baseball in the summer. It's great for sports viewing in general with a ton of big tv's inside and three outside. Probably the best "bar food" I've had, bacon cheeseburger is in my top 3 easily and the cheesesteak, wings or buffalo chicken wrap usually more than suit my needs for my 2am feeding.
My new favorite is the cajun roast beef melt, so damn good.
they make great bar food here. disco fries with enough cheese and gravy for every last fry and their burgers are generously sized with lots of options. try the mexi-burger (topped with a liberal amount of jalapenos and their house chili) or the bacon cheeseburger (with plenty of crispy bacon).
