Yet another bar on a good ole' pub crawl. It was a great place to start off. One of the few places that has a private parking lot for patrons which I took full advantage off.

The place was nice. Guinness was $6 bucks. I did not get a chance to enjoy any of their food but it looked good. They have a whole room in the back for small groups. This is where I stayed mostly to socialize. However I did here that there were two more great levels including a patio upstairs which would be really nice in the summer.

All the wait staff was really nice and attentive. Coming through the group to get more drink orders and clean up empties.

I will defiantly be back in warmer months to try their food and rooftop terrace.

Huge Fan!  They have a fabulous roof top patio and a great happy hour.  They have the most delicious homemade chips I have ever had.  It is just down the block from my usual stomping grounds so it is a great pub to go to for a game or happy hour.  I love how many different spaces they have to sit.  Are you a belly up to the bar kind of drinker?  Maybe you are more of a quiet booth..Either way you will feel comfortable here.  I definitely don't get here enough but you have to love that in Denver you can sit on their outdoor patio in January and probably catch some rays.

Mike D and comp-a-ny(Beastie Boys, no???) are completely awesome.  Always good service, always good cocktails and easy Jukebox.  Although the patrons don't always enjoy my premiere selection of 90's grunge and 80's hairmetal; we all work through it.

If you are in the mood for a couple of cold-pops, good bar food and nice bar-keeps; look no further.

Great Baaahhhhh (say it out loud to yourself and you will probably get it)

2013 is the year of updating reviews of some of my favorite Denver spots.
The Goat is a great sports bar. Every time I go in, it feels like Cheers. Not that everyone knows my name, but the bartenders make you feel welcome, and all th regulars seem to know each other.
It is laid back and has pretty good bar food.
It's one of those places I think about stopping in whenever I pass by.
The rooftop bar is a bonus. Nothing better than hanging out in the evening, on the roof, with good friends and a beer while the Bronco's are playing in the background.

I live close by, so this is a nice little bar to go and visit whenever I would like to get out for a little bit.

It's just a nice little bar to go and enjoy and get out of the house for a bit. Staff is pretty good. When there is a game on, watch out because it gets crowded all over the place.

The patio is very nice especially during the summer.

I would suggest going in here in case you wanted to try a new place or just need somewhere to get out and hang out with some friends. It's always nice to place a game of darts or even play one of the games they have out front.

This is a really fun place. I came here for food/drinks on a sunday night after some brewery hoppin.

I went with the buffalo chicken wrap. It was crazy good! I also got tots with it. Great tots (I love tots). The service was great here. Very cool bartenders. Once we migrated over to a table they helped us out there too.

So we started out at the bar..then a brit at a table near the bar noticed the soccer jersey I was wearing (was watching a game at the bulldog earlier that day). Our group ended up merging with their group..what was originally planned to be an early/light night ended up getting a bit crazy. Lots of beers, shots, fun times! Good thing they have awesome drink specials too..so it didnt turn out be an expensive night.

A solid place to start and finish a night given its location. I enjoy the upper level bars as they tend to not be as crowded and more attention from servers. I like the cost of things there but if you are expecting a world class meal might not be your best bet. I like the corn beef sliders but the rest is just good bar food nothing to really write home about.

The goat does a lot of things right. This is my friend's favorite bar (or at least, she goes here often enough that it should be), so I am generally meeting up with her or other friends about once a month. Three levels, the topmost being a rooftop patio with its own bar. Plenty of TVs on all levels for sports fans. Bottomless mimosas on the weekends keep you coming back. If I could find any fault here, I would say it's the food. The menu is kinda limited, and the delivery is average. Other than that, the service is always good, the specials are ample, and it's a fun place to get together.

Hard to judge a bar that the one and only time I went to was Thanksgiving night, but a busy night is a busy night, and I left early dissatisfied with many aspects of this place. My bartender was drinking more than me, and it finally became annoying as the night passed. Also, I was asked by her and the other bartender to show my ID when I ordered on three occasions as there was no doorman or stamp, etc. option. And the set-up with the bar and downstairs lounge being separating with a skinny hallway and shuffle board table in between is horrible. I like 'dive' bars, but not this one and like the myotonic goat this bar is named for, I will have to be forcefully wheeled in here after my legs completely stiff and I fall over before I go again... even if it's the only bar on Broadway open on Thanksgiving.

I come here every Thursday night with a friend of mine because it's ladies night. She loves the cheap drinks at that time. I love it for the atmosphere. The lower bar level is huge. In the back it has giant booths great for groups. On the second floor there are dart boards and the third floor is the rooftop area with another bar. That's the place we usually hang out. On a summer and fall night, I love being outdoors instead of being stuck inside. Plus, it allows my friend to smoke and she doesn't have to go outside to do so.

They have a great mix of beers on tap. They have lots of microbrews and the domestic garbage as well. The prices overall are pretty cheap and I don't even seem to spend a fortune here. The servers though can be hit or miss. It depends on which one you get. Their newest bartender seemed to be on top of things on my last visit, always ensuring my glass was full (even with a big crowd) and I stayed pleasantly buzzed all night long.

The crowd can be hit or miss too depending on the evening. Some nights it's your hipster crowd, others its the bro crowd. The ladies that are there are usually none I'd personally want to date, but can be fun to socialize with.

Give this place a try sometime. Bring your lady here on a Thursday and drink cheaply all night long. I'll probably be upstairs. Stop by and say you saw my review on Yelp.

If you watch How I Met Your Mother, you know how important it is to have a good bar close to home. This is my MacLaren's.

First off, the servers are awesome. The bartenders are cool. They are quick and give the place a really good vibe.

They have a decent draft beer selection including rotating seasonals and old standbys. I have never left thirsty. In fact, I have left more often than not with my thirst over quenched (if you know what I mean).

It is a bar, so your selections are pretty much standard bar food on the menu. My favorite menu item: fried pickles.

Sometimes it is a little louder than I would like (the music, not the people) in the downstairs bar area. They have board games by the front windows, and I have sat there for hours playing Monopoly with my friends.

A hidden gem of the area, make sure to check out the roof top bar. You wouldn't even know it is there from the ground floor. You have to venture up the stairs.

I'm a fan. I go all the time and will keep going all the time.

This place looks like a local hangout. I had a cool brew and I had a good experience.

    It kind of lacks distinction.

I'd come here to watch a game but I think there are better places to hang out or check out.

Let me start off by saying I like this place. There is just one thing. The owner. He is one of the most disgusting man I have ever met. He is in there about 50% of the time we are. And he is always drinking and hitting on different women! Four months ago he was hitting on my friend and was trying to take her home. She was turning him down in every way possible but he would not give up! It was disgusting. Then last month he had a go at it again! He thinks he is attractive but in reality, he is a balding, over weight, short 40-year-old. I know he treats his employees like shit. Get over yourself!

Other than him, this place is great to go to when you want something different than downtown bars. Love the rooftop. Don't always get the best service though. Mark just needs to not come around so often, then it would be an amazing bar!

Totally dig this place, it is an island of goodness.

Three storied with a rooftop patio, a shuffleboard, pool, and darts! They also have a parking lot and board games and some big TVs to watch whatever needs watching. The multi-level design is neato as each level has its own bathrooms, but the second level mezzanine is cool, but the wonky railing is just asking for a drunken injury.

The rooftop is where it is at! The lil space has it's own bar and is partially covered / heated. Last time I was there we got table service from a great bartender during a nuggets game.

Their fried pickles are amazing!!! They do spears - yum!! Their other food is good too, I'd say high quality bar food. The service is inconsistent as far as employees, but consistent decent quality for the most part. This place is super great during the day, and is pretty cool on a weekend or weekday night as well.

    Love the goat!

I like this place. I don't visit often enough, but I have a blast every time I do. In an attempt to avoid the Easter brunch crowds a few weeks back, my friends and I decided on the Fainting Goat for some mid-morning grub. We sat at the bar and the service was stellar. Did I mention bottomless mimosas for $8? Pretty much always a homerun. The brunch menu is limited, but it features all of the staples...eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and stuffed french toast. That's right, I said STUFFED (with cream cheese and topped with berries)! Not healthy by any strech of the imagination, but delicious nonetheless. They have their full menu available during brunch also, so there are plenty of options to choose from. Free shuffleboard, darts and board games are a mega-plus also...I could stay entertained for hours. Plus they have a roof top. What more could you ask for?

I really like this place. First I can see it everyday since I live in the Acoma building and it is always busy and when the weather is nice the deck is packed with people enjoying the sun. For St patricks day there was a float outside and tons of parade revellers all day long. I put on me kilt and had me a guiness or three.

As Pubs go this is a laid back stress free pub with friendly people and Josh the manager is a funny dude. But the best thing is the Fish and Chips. It is so hard to get a balance of grease bredding batter and fish and these guys nail it.

For a good time and atmoshpere and great deck to sit in the sun you would be hard pressed to find a better place (well at least I am).

At one time, I would have considered myself a regular here. I had a standard routine. Get off work on Friday, walk to The Fainting Goat, grab a table near the shuffleboard. Order a pint of Guinness and converse with co-workers. The staff is friendly and the bartenders treat your pretty well if they recognize you.

I went to trivia night there once and had a lot of fun, considering I have no random facts knowledge and I think we took last, haha. They have good drinks at cheap rates for those looking for a place to go after work.

However, I wouldn't recommend the food. I had the Irish Nachos... which were potato chips with cheese. Granted, this could be the trend, but I did not care for it. Unless you want a burger, I would rather skip the meal. Limited selection. They occasionally have a tasty soup on special.

Go for the drinks, play their shuffleboard, don't eat the food. BUT, if it's a nice night, enjoy their rooftop patio!

I'm a regular, I admit it.  Because of its location, the bar tends not to attract the downtown youngin's, which is a big part of its charm. The feel is laid back; even when there is a crowd on a Saturday night, there is usually a quiet corner in the back.  A lot of week nights you can go in and it will be super quiet but gets busy at odd times.

In the past the food has been hit or miss but lately I'm obsessed with two things: the loaded tots which are covered in cheese and bacon, and the club sandwich.

    The Goods:
Plenty of bar games including darts, shuffle board and Jenga.
    Free parking lot!
A great staff who take care of their regulars and welcome newbies.
    Bottomless mimosas for brunch.
    A roof top porch.

All in all, I will always recommend it.

Great food specials. Great drink specials. Super friendly staff.

I went in the other night and ordered a whiskey + ginger ale.  It was completely flat, so I brought it back to the bar.  Instead of shrugging and saying the carbonation wasn't working (like they would have done in NYC), the bartender went into the back and fixed it. A+.

I'll definitely be back!  The Rueben wasn't NY-huge, but it was tasty!  And I'll never complain about a place that offers tots as a side.

Stopped in a few nights ago for some dinner and a beer.  It's smaller than I expected, at least the downstairs, and it was pretty dead on a Monday.  Anyways, I guess I was expecting more of an Irish-style pub, which this is not.  It's a cool place nonetheless.  Service was good at the bar, they've got a nice selection of beers on tap and cheap PBR tallboys.  The fish and chips, while not traditional was really good, and you can get fish and tots instead of chips.  (what can I say?  I'm a sucker for tots) As the night went on, the place got a bit more crowded.  Oh, and the jukebox has a good selection of music.

This is a Texas Tech bar as well I believe, so they've got TVs for sports.

I'll try to get back for this happy hour I keep hearing about.

This is the bar I go to where everyone knows my name.  It is such a great local hangout.  The drinks are cheap, the people who are regulars rock, and they treat you right.
The food is quite good, the Tuesday Sandwich night is awesome, high end ingredients from Tony's Market.  And Tuesday is also trivia, I have won several times, I will be there most of the time.

The place is also great for watching sports, with several large HD TVs.
And the place is great for playing sports, with dark boards galore!

And a rooftop deck that kicks ass!

And, yes another and: brunch on weekends, with, wait for it; bottomless mimosas!

If you don't love it here, you're clearly a pampas, tight ass douche bag and don't know how to have a good time.

    Hope to see you there.

Cool place to grab a beer, which is especially nice during HH.  They have a great selection of microbrews on tap, and reasonably priced even when not on HH.  The bartenders are pretty awesome, and not obnoxiously over-friendly.  It's a typical pub atmosphere...nothing special or particularly appealing (but we didn't check out the rooftop patio, since it was a cold day).

The best part is the stack of board and card games to choose from.  There was a table of 6 people playing Life when we were there, which looked super fun.  Bryan and I bellied up to the bar and played the 80's themed Trivial Pursuit, (which he obviously kicked my ass at, since I was born in 1982).  We had a blast, and I would totally go back again to give the food a try, and to check out that rooftop patio.

Met up at the Goat for a cause celebre - C.O. got her Master's.

Picked it for the pub feel, FREE PARKING - in downtown that is genius - and central location.  Bartender steered me right on a beer choice, got their corned beef sliders - delish.  Others had the Irish Nachos, etc.

Got great service -  Sunday's are quiet for the party crowd.  Beer prices are right.

Good food, brews, times and the home team won - oorah.

    Men who faint with goats!

My most recent experience was not the tops - the two bartenders/servers at the upstairs patio could have cared less that we were there. They were too focused serving the cougars (literally a throng of them) than helping us out. But finally, we got drinks and some typical bar food. The sammiches are good...more times than none the staff is funny, friendly and totally laid back.

This is a good place during the week and they also have live trivia! High marks for the shuffle board table, darts and juke box! I also love the rooftop patio - when it's not packed. Best bet = weekday excursions.

The three level set up is cozy and different from other Denver bars which is nice. Also, there is almost always a drink special of some sort...beer and well drinks for cheap? Yes please!

    Bad service. So bad.

Came in around 10pm on a Friday and sat upstairs, it wasn't busy, maybe 3 other tables up there.

Sat for awhile before someone came over to our table, we asked the specials, we were told 1 of the 392482397534895 specials listed on their website.

We were ultra starving and would have eaten ANYTHING at this point. Our server didn't offer a menu and was ignoring our table so I got up and got one, we sat there with menus in hand trying desperately to make eye contact with said server for about 20 minutes, when she finally came to take our order, I am mid-order "I will have...." and she turns around to talk to a friend of hers for literally over a minute. Enough time for me and my dining companion to discuss if we wanted to leave, where to, and what we would order elsewhere. When she finally turned back around I just asked for the tab.

    Rude squared.

    All hail the Goat.

I was so intent on visiting the Goat that I forced my Denver friends to drive me here in the middle of a snowstorm.  You can find good peoples at a bar in type of weather, but a snowstorm brings out the hardiest drinkers.  We were determined to be among them.  Solid Guinness pours and a Powers neat made braving Mother Nature's wrath all the more fun.

Looking forward to checking out the rooftop when a blizzard is not in the works.

This bar is slowly becoming my cheers bar...

So I've been here in the past a few times for drinks and it was a normal night out. Then I started coming here for brunch....

First off, let me get out of the way the only negative thing I have to say about this place: the food is only so-so. I finally had a mostly decent meal there this past weekend, but even so I've had better.

On to the good stuff! My friends and I went there for the $8 (!!!!) bottomless mimosas about a month back and boy did we get our money's worth! They fill white wine glasses (no, not champagne flutes) to the brim with champagne and add a splash of OJ for color. These mimosas aren't for the weak! I had one friend throwing up (....maaaaybe off the patio balcony....I will neither confirm nor deny....), all of us blacked out at least once, we were 2 hours late for the People's Fair (our sober friends who met us there LOVED that), and 2 of my friends woke up in a black out on Colfax and Colorado Blvd walking home (and they live near Monaco and MLK). Drink with caution!

All these drunken stories didn't scare us away for a second time! The waitress recognized half of us ("I don't need to see your ID's because I've seen you guys before!") and even hugged my friend Monica hello. This time we were (slightly) smarter about our intake. Plus, this time we had 20 of us and they could accommodate us perfectly.

If you need more convincing, it's summer and they have a great patio!

Happy hour at the Fainting Goat is happy! Especially when you get to seat outside at their rooftop patio, from here, can see the mountains getting dumped from a distance, rush hour traffic going on couple feet down on Broadways, cars filled with stressed drivers coming out from work, people getting into their loft apartments from work...

And me... Well, enjoying FG's happy hour, listening to Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldier, enjoying this chaotic view, drinking a 90 Shilling, eating some wings, and getting some sun. 2-4-1 beers, and $1 off apps (their appetizers are cheap to start with).

    Why not?

Part of me loves The Fainting Goat just because it's called The Fainting Goat. Did you know that there is actually a breed of goats that faints when startled?

"A fainting goat is a breed of domestic goat whose muscles freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat is startled. Though painless, this generally results in the animal collapsing on its side." - Thanks, Wiki

Drinking too much at The 'Goat has caused me to fall on my side more than once, so I sympathize. Happy hour is every day 3:30-6:30, and they have $2.50 PBR tallboys every day. Can't beat that! The Blarney sliders are a little much for me (3 little corned beef "burgers" on a pretzel bun) but the Irish nachos are a little more up my alley. The rest of the time, I just stick to the adult beverages. Note: There is a crazy, hypnotic, fantastical moving picture on the first floor (what do they call those things?) - beware if you sit across from it, or you could be mesmerized for hours. I'm not saying it happened to me, I'm just saying it could happen.

Oddly, I ended up in here twice in one day, the first time was for Irish Nachos and White Russians.  That was a good time.

Their Irish Nachos are very thick Potato chips, Corned Beef, lots of Cheese, Horseradish Sauce, and Green Onions.  It sounds not all that great, but I was very fond of it.  Still, I probably won't be ordering that every time I go just because it's far from a light snack.

Corned Beef is the Bacon of Cow.  I don't know why it's not more popular than it is, but I wonder if it's because food that is popular in the U.K. is assumed to be disgusting.  Then again, the only difference between Pastrami and Corned Beef is that one sounds Italian and has more Pepper.  But I dare you to order the same sandwich with Corned Beef instead.  Not going to happen, is it?

The second time I was in here that day I was wearing a Christmas sweater, drinking Grape Vodka and Club Soda, and eating Fried Pickles.  Using my outside voice, I said that either I was either way too comfortable with my masculinity, or that I had none left.  I was not content with the response I got.  I'm sure they were joking.

The Fried Pickles were really good, and they seemed kind of spicy.  If they're too spicy, dip them in the complimentary Ranch dressing.

Hurry up and get in here! I'd heard about the $5 lunch and decided to give it a try. The veggie burger isn't part of the $5 deal, but it was as good a bar-food veggie burgers get and the fries were perfection ... the kind that soak up as much malt vinegar as I can handle. Yum! My friend had the $5 corned-beef sliders lunch and loved them. The homemade chips were excellent, too.

Here's the kicker ... we were the only ones in there at lunchtime. This is a downright shame people! The $5 menu even offers a 1/2 order of fish-n-chips. The atmosphere is warm but definitely needs more bodies! The music was fantastic and the service was efficient and friendly. Please give this place a try!

This isn't a review about the food, I've never eaten at The Fainting Goat.

How is this place empty every time I go in?  It has a fantastic rooftop, an awesome juke box and great vibe from the bartenders.  Their drinks are moderately priced and they have a variety of what to get.

Seriously, go here, support this place.  I'm on a campaign to keep this place in business.  It's my favorite rooftop bar in Denver.

First, love the name for a bar. Seriously (see the menu for an explanation.)

Second, FRIED PICKLES, as mentioned before.

This place has gone through 1/2 dozen reincarnations. Back in the day (here we go again) it used to be the Parlour. The remodel went well, and the place is clean and welcoming, although not necessarily in the typical Irish "pub" decor sans wooden bar. The place has three floors; the 3rd floor being a small roof-top deck with bar that looks like a great space for warmer months.

Super friendly owner; nice wait staff. Love the pink tile in the ladies bathroom. Slow mid-week. Crazy busy on St. Pats, of course. Meters out front.

The lunch specials blew my mind. $4.95 Fish N' Chips, Corned Beef Sliders or a 6oz Steak Sandwich. When I heard Steak Sandwich, I thought it was like a Cheesesteak but they mean a STEAK. It was a steak in a bun. Crazy. I had the Kobe beef sliders and they were delicious. They were only a little bigger than the pickle, but at least an inch thick.

The atmosphere is also really cozy. I loved the heavy wood bar back. The bartender was also super sweet and provided excellent lunchtime conversation. She let me know that this summer, they open up the roof for some of the best rooftop dining in Denver. I can't wait to give that a peek! [If anyone tries the Irish Nachos (nachos with corned beef) let me know! I'm curious, but a little leery of corned beef in general.]

Next time: Fried pickles. *shiver with anticipation*

I totally secluded myself at The Fainting Goat in the godfather of all booths. It was tucked in a small space between 2 walls and probably could seat 10 people. So, I didn't experience too much of the atmosphere, but it seemed like a typical pub environment. Nothing off-putting, but nothing that makes me want to rush back either.

We had an awesome server here who gave us plenty of attention at just the right times. We also had some pretty decent food including a hummus plate, sliders, wings and fried pickles. If you're a fried pickle connoisseur like me please note these are fried spears. I've had the chips and the minis before with minis being my favorite. But, if spears are your thing you can get them here.

A good neighborhood pub, good grub, decent prices, nothing extravagant, but worth your money. I had the Guinness battered fish and chips. The fish was not your average cod, but some kind of Japanese whitefish, or at least the bartender told me it was. It was light, flaky, huge pieces, and not oily. The chips were fresh made, not from a bag, etc. and the right amount of salt.

Since I was there at lunch, I basically was the lunch rush as I was the only patron except for a guy just coming in to check it out (I'd put money on that him being another Yelper, just checking it out with his own eyes). Service obviously should be great and it was that and more. I swear my plate was done in like 3 min after ordering.

Decor was pub like. Not out of a box, ready made Irish decor bought from a bankrupt Bennigans, this was just a good bar owned by an Irish guy. From the looks of it, it probably gets pretty full at happy hour, because there was a good amount of bar stools, etc. arranged in a manner that allows for a crowd, like Pub Feng Shui. It just worked.

To be honest, I saw some of the reviews on here that looked a tad shady, and I decided to check it out for myself. I soooo wanted to come back and bust them for fake reviews, but I can't. Even though I still doubt the origins of a couple of the previous reviews, I have to say this place is worth your time and money if you like pubs, good bar food, etc. As another reviewer did mention, there really aren't any pubs in the area that I know of, so it's nice to know we have at least one quality option.
