I always order the queen size vegetarian burrito with avocado. It's perfect. I dream about it. Sometimes I have a craving and just have to go get one. It's fresh and super fast. Burrito is folded the way it should be. Green sauce it where it's at.

I just posted a review for El Burrito Mexicano on W Addison, and since we ate at these places on back-to-back days (Yes, we've  had a mighty burrito fix lately), I'll compare.

I'd probably go to The Famous Taco Burrito over El Burrito Mexicano, just because the menu seemed bigger, the place seemed a bit cheerier, and because the guys working at The Famous Taco Burrito made something not on the menu that my wife wanted: cheese enchiladas. Not to say that the guys at the other place wouldn't have--we didn't ask--but I think the food is slightly better at TFTB, too. Slightly. This is another solid place to get authentic grilled Mexican food that will fill you up. Everything we got was good and I'm sure we'll go back (free parking right out front!).

This place gives you plenty of bang for your buck. It's very basic- it's in a strip-mall, and has a counter for ordering, and a smaller (Maybe 12 booths?) seating area, and basic decor. It's basic, but comfortable, and the food is quite tasty. They have many 'dinners,' which include entrée item(s), rice, beans, and soda, almost all of them for $6.99 or less. The chimichangas and burritos are quite hearty. I'm not a small person, and I often have trouble finishing off a burrito or chimichanga dinner.

Their burritos, tacos, tortas are great. They also serve horchata. The people that work there are kind of creepy though. They stare down all the girls, and make them uncomfortable.

I got steak quesadillas and a chicken quesadilla here. Both completely lacked any semblance of flavor and both felt like I was chewing rubber. It may be a hole-in-the-wall restaurant and I'm not expecting 4-star food or anything. I just want something with flavor.

There's a place on Addison and Lincoln with much better food for basically the same price. I wish I knew the name of the place, cause I would easily suggest going there over this place, any day.

OF COURSE YOU'VE HAD BETTER MEXICAN FOOD.  This placed is called The Famous Taco Burrito NUMBER TWO.   They are at most the second best burrito joint.

I eat here on what I think of as a regular basis (maybe once every 24 days)  That was an arbitrary number.

Hmmm, let me put it another way, the take-outtie restaurants near me are: Subway, Big Boy Gyros, Popeyes, Hero's Sandwich Shop, Tasty House, and Jimmy Johns.

I eat at TFTB#2 the most.  I know I know, you're thinking about how I could pass up so many sub joints.  The truth is that I spread out my sub-scarfing over 4 or 32 places, so that means that my sub-ingesting-per-restaurant rate is much lower than my burrito-ingesting-per-restaurant rate.

Also, I just had Tasty House for the first time.  I'll go there more often.

    Okay, back on track...

The tacos are DELICIOUS.  Get the carne asada or ground beef or the slightly healthier and subsequently more bland chicken tacos, always (ALWAYS MF'ER!) say "yes, please sir. One or two or ten extra won't hurt, sir." when they ask if you want hot sauce on the side.

They add a lot of sour cream and cheese on everything I've had.  Like I said, once every 24 days.

I get the taco salad quite a bit.  I know, it's a delusional thing to get at a place like this.  If they say ignorance is bliss, what is it when you aren't ignorant and still in bliss?

They put nacho cheese on the taco salad.  Bad.  Tell them, "Hey ese, I no want none of that processed shit on my pile of meat and rice sparsely populated with iceberg lettuce."  And when they look at you funny, you can tell them that Eric said it's okay to call them "ese".

    CHEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS!

Perfect place for I don't know what i want but I want Mexican food fast, good and reasonably priced and I haven't shaved (lol).

Great selection on the menu and love the authentic people there. Food is better than fast food, and in a pinch, stop in for my favorite shrimp tacos (don't let them tell you it's not offered, have to negotiate off the menu to get what  you want!)

This is the type of place you want to like, hole in the wall, no one speaks English and sells coke by the can (not to mention the pleasant aroma of mexican food being cooked on an open grill). Unfortunately this place disappoints, not that its really that bad; just very very mediocre. The meat has very little flavor, and falls very flat. The rice is also pretty flavorless. Overall this place was pretty disappointing, though I did have this drunk one time because it was almost the only thing open and shocking it tasted much better. However, my other experiences haven't been very good.

On a good note the portions are huge and prices are cheap. The staff has always been extremely friendly. I'd avoid this place unless like me this is the only thing open within walking distance after you've had a few.

    I had a torta.

    I've had better.

    The meat is really fatty

It was a beautiful Sunday morning. I was driving home, while sporting a Bourbon hangover and I was hankering for some Mexican food. I spotted what I was looking for in a small strip mall near Lane Tech High School. I thought to myself, "What a better way to enjoy my Sunday football Activities than with some Carne Asada and Chorizo.
The Famous Taco and Burrito is just what you would expect for a Mexican eatery located in a Strip mall. It's a total hole in the wall. This is a no frills Eatery that's all about the food.
I left the Famous Taco, Burrito with my bag of delight and headed home to watch some football. My timing could not have been better.
I got home just in time for the start of Fox NFL Sunday. I sat down with my bag of Mexican Goodies and watched Howie, Terry and Jimmy Johnson breakdown Sunday's Grid Iron battles. As I opened the bag the smells from my Steak Burrito and a Chorizo Taco filled my nose with delight.
The Steak was beautifully marinated and delicious. My only complaint about the Burrito is that they put way too much sour cream in it. Other than that, it was top notch. The Chorizo taco was delicious. The greasy sausage was just what I needed to neutralize the Bourbon in my system from the night before. My impromptu Mexican lunch was awesome. Not even the sight of Jimmy Johnson's, Steroid hair could ruin it for me.
The food even stayed in my stomach after the Bears played like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest against the Cardinals.
The bottom line is that the Famous Taco and Burrito sated my hunger at a time where I desperately needed it. It's great food and a tasty price. I will definitely be back.
