Picture this. You order a Guatemalan feast for carry-out. When you get home and open the bag this is what you find: a dried lump of black beans, a green goop with undercooked chicken, no rice (because they ran out), a red goop and a bag of chips. It was a disaster!
We ate what we could (that which didn't taste bad) and laughed the experience off. Perhaps they had someone new or someone was having a bad day, it happens. I could not believe that they sent that out the door. For that reason, I will not be back.
Maybe they have good food, but even on your worst days you have to maintain some standards.
First and only Guatemalan experience, not so sure i'm turned onto it.
The salsa with the chips was not so great straight away. The food we got was just ok tasting but it looked soooo unappetizing that we had a hard time digging into it. I wish i had taken a picture. I wouldn't complain about the appearance of the food if it was amazing tasting, but it wasn't, it was edible. I will say that the restaurant got quite busy and there were only two people total working there-cooking, cleaning, taking orders- and they did a great job keeping up with the rush. There also seemed to be a lot of Guatemalans eating in there, which would normally be a good sign, or maybe...how many Guatemalan places are in the city?
