Best pizza in Denver, hands down. Always fresh ingredients on HUGE slices. Usually eat in at Atomic, but have had delivery and take-out as well. Best of the best all the way around. You will not be disappointed!

Hands down the best pizza in Denver. Giant pieces, not overly sauced, simple, right to the point. They're open late which is a huge plus. Even when it's a busy Friday night the staff has always been really patient and friendly. Beware, they do get slammed and there's people running around crazy behind the window where you order. But it's all worth it in the end.

A great place to go get pizza and cold beers with friends! Their food truck doesn't disappoint either! I thought it wasn't going to taste the same as their main location but fat sully's is fat sully's wherever it's served!

#614 It's been a little while since I've been here, but I thought I'd drop a line anyway about the quality of Fat Sully's pizzas. It was actually back in August that several friends and I dropped by after a long week of law school prep. Someone had suggested Atomic Cowboy's for some Friday night fun so we showed up around 7:30. My friends and I were part of the earlier crowd so we thought we'd order a pizza to fill our stomachs and prep for a full night of drinking. We splurged with our toppings, making it half and half since I'm vegetarian. One of us then threw in the line  "Bring us the largest size." Little did we know that they're large is 26". Dear me, we were SHOCKED when the server brought it over. Seriously, that thing ended up lasting us until the later crowd made it around 9 and we still walked out with five slices leftover! Regardless, the pizza was absolutely delicious and did not go wrong with our toppings. I would definitely drive all the way back here just for a single slice. It's unfortunate that I haven't made it back, but my resolution for next semester is to get off campus more often. So, Fat Sully's, here I come!

On Christmas Eve, we were on the hunt for a decent meal before a movie at the FilmCenter. I was finishing up a yoga class at 5:30, with the man friend's brother arriving at our place at 6 and a 7pm movie on the horizon.

But I wanted pizza. What could we do?

After a snafu with the online order system, I went ahead and called Fat Sully's. They took our order AND delivered the pizza straight to the FilmCenter. We had a couple drinks, thoroughly enjoyed our jalapeno, artichoke, garlic, and 'shroom pizza, and didn't have a to worry a bit about missing the previews.

I was pleasantly surprised by the slices I got from their truck. The way they make pies reminds me of this pizza place in the mall that I used to eat at when I was a kid. They make cheese pies, add toppings you want, and then re-heat. This method left me skeptical of the quality of pizza I was going to get. My doubts were soon squashed. The Canadian bacon and pineapple slice was especially tasty. The pepperoni was a bit too salty though. The crust was enjoyable -- thin, crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Slices were super greasy though. Maybe that has something to do with the kind of cheese they use. In any case, tasty overall.

I used to frequent Fat Sullys 2x a week with the man-friend due to their usually-high-quality pizza slices.  However, two Sundays ago, we were treated like crap by the guys working there and given sub-par quality food.

First, we were brusquely told to "order from the bar"? Weird, but I didn't want to complain.  Even though they were not busy by all appearances, we sat down to wait at the bar and put our order in through the bartender. More than 10 minutes later, our pizza slices came out dry, old, sauce-less, and burnt! I can't believe they actually gave us those slices after making us wait 10 minutes, let alone at all. They were not of a decent quality and after a quick once-over, they should have been tossed and replaced. How hard is it to take a quick look at the food you're serving when they are just re-heating slices? Seriously.

    Haven't been back since then.

Some of the best pizza we have had in Denver. The atmosphere is great and they have a good selection on tap.

I come here regularly for a beer and a slice. The pizza is dependably delicious and quick. While sometimes the wait staff get overwhelmed they are typically on top of stuff,  especially if you go Sunday through Ttlhursday. In a nut shell this is the best ny style pizza I have found in Denver.

Not going back. The pizza is unexceptional and really overpriced - the sauce is bland, there was not enough cheese, the toppings were nothing special. The gluten free pizza crust was not very good compared to other restaurants - it has an odd flavor and is thick and spongy (perhaps undercooked?).

I ordered 2 - 12" pizzas (1 gluten free, one regular) with two toppings on each and it came to $39.05 with tax! So each 12" pizza was about $20! I know gluten free is more expensive but that is ridiculous!

Also, I ordered them and was told they would be ready in 30 minutes - I got there 29 minutes later then sat and waited for another 15 minutes before they were ready. I understand being busy but at least try to quote a correct pick up time.

I will not be going back - I don't mind paying more for something but it has to be worth it and this is not.  Enzo's pizzeria down the street is better - their pizza actually has flavor, they don't skimp on ingredients, and MUCH less expensive.

    Absolutely incredible pizza!

I grew up in NJ and am extremely particular about my pizza, to the point of snobbery and I can tell you that this pizza was exemplary, a beautiful example of what thin crust NY style pizza is supposed to be.

My previous revue still stands strong. Still the best pizza in the world...Im saving my carb and cheese calories for this place. You can get it to order by the slice too...you do not have to order an entire pie..and it is just as awesome as the whole pizza. We are going to come back and try the Denver Biscuit Company for breakfast sometime soon..which resides inside the Atomic Cowboy and Fat Sully's. Both have food trucks. Will the awesomeness of Denver never end ?!?!

At last!  A pizza place I will drive across town for in Colorado!  Originally being from the east coast where we take our pizza very seriously I was beginning to think my years in Denver would subsist of mediocre to good pizza experiences.  Fat Sully's to the rescue.  I had won a gift certificate to the Atomic Cowboy which houses this establishment.  My fiance and I ordered a 26 inch white pizza with mushrooms and onions.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.  We both kept remarking how good it was!  The 26 inch was huge and the slices are so big we each could only eat one slice.  Needless to say my fiance was very happy to eat the leftovers for lunch and dinner for days to come.  I am already looking forward to our next visit.

    Yummy!
GIANT PIZZAS... And I mean giant. Pick a size, pick your crust, pick your toppings. It's so simple and delightful. Artichokes? Why not!? Bacon? Do it! Jalapenos... Spice on pizza lovers. Dine in carry out or have heaven delivered to your lazy front door like me.
The price is worth it each bite you take. I'm so glad I finally live close enough to really take advantage of this place.

I have a bit of a molten cheese problem.  Mozz sticks, enchiladas, rellenos...yea.  Unfortunately, local pizza joints have not been delivering the goo lately, so I've opted for other foods or have just made it myself.

I've never actually eaten *at* Fat Sully's.  I usually do delivery.  My hairstylist told me the pizza was good once, and when I finally got tired of really crappy pizza options and had to have some pizza after 9 pm, I decided to give Fat Sully's a try.  They deliver till like 1 am or something, so that's great for grad students like me.

This pizza's delicious. I normally stick to the smaller size because the big one won't fit in my fridge afterwards.  Nice thin, crackly, NY style crust that's foldable and floppy.  Oooey gooey cheese that's exactly what I crave.  The sauce on the Neapolitan is perfect and has a good spice to it without giving me heartburn an hour later.  (Yay crushed red pepper flakes).  I wish they had a few more of a variety of toppings, but a plain cheese is just fine most days.  Their salads are decent, but I always forget to tell them to omit the olives.

I normally order online because I hate talking to people after talking to people all day.  I don't love their site.  It has some quirks, but--with some patience--is fine.  Delivery is always faster than the hour the Web site estimates.  I do wish you could add comments to orders since I can't tell them how to get in my building without them.  They always seem to get in anyway, though.  Price is just fine--not as cheap as the chains, but who cares when pizza's this craveable?

i am not a pizza fan, so i'm no expert, but Fat Sully's is a definite favorite. Large slices at a cheap price. And how conveniently located in Atomic Cowboy. Bacon: try a slice with bacon.

WARNING:This pizza just may be the best you will ever taste.

BEWARE: of amazing seasonings in the slice of Hawaiian and the load of delicious eats in a slice of the veggie.

WATCH OUT: The slices are as big as 2-3 normal size slices, so folding is essential. Slice are only $4, or free in my case.

STOP: and take advice from the amazingly friendly & fun loving staff-they sure know their pizza!

DANGER: My waistline may expand [I know understand the name...even though i'm not Sully!] by my love of outstanding flavors, huge slices and awesome staff.

    Fat Sully's...I LOVE YOU.

    that is all.

Best pizza I've had in Colorado. A whole pie is MASSIVE so you definitely get your money's worth, but it is also very tasty and fresh. I love putting artichoke hearts and feta cheese on my slices :)

Yes, yes, yes!  This place is great.  Went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon.  After reading all the rave reviews, I was scared that Fat Sully's wouldn't live up to its hype.  Luckily, it passed the test.  I ordered a slice with pepperoni and banana peppers - delicious.  The one slice was probably the size of my torso and was more than worth the $4 it cost.

The feel of the place is nice too.  It doubles as the Atomic Cowboy later in the day and the decor lives up to its name - but in a trendy way.  The pictures on the wall are Western meets Star Trek (imagine scenes from the series Firefly and you'll know what I mean).  Wooden tables and booths with a full bar in the center.  I particularly like high-top tables and was pleased to settle into one for my meal.  Music in the background adds a nice touch - Frank Sinatra, Etta James and the like.  My server was very attentive - but not overly so.  I'll definitely be back.

This is my favorite local place.  The pizza is delicious and the staff is great.  They have great specials, trivia night, and lots of TVs for sports.  It's very casual and never stuffy.  Try it from the window.  Go inside.  Go on Wednesday for trivia.  You won't regret it.

Bacon pizza? Yes please! And you can get a 26" pie that feeds two couples and two hungry little boys to boot. Plenty of good topping options including the standard fare, artichoke hearts, and of course, bacon.

Pizza was very good. We had enough for another meal the next day. Our waitress did not smile until she handed us our bill.  $35 for large pizza and 1 beer.  Pricey but worth it.

Imagine my shock when my bank statement read  $88.95. -  It was good but not $90 good.  WILL NOT BE BACK

Have a friend who is OBSESSED with Denver Biscuit, and because I've been dragged along so many times, I made her come with me after 3PM to try the pizza.

Yes, you have to get ID'd after 6, they're pretty strict about the whole thing, but didn't find it terribly bothersome.

The Pizza is PHENOMENAL. Reminds me of home (which is just outside NYC, so I'm kind of a pizza snob)! I've only ever gotten the plain slices, but I've heard the toppings are plentiful and pretty darn good. Yes, its a little price-y, but the slices are huge, and to be honest, its not like you're going to break the bank by grabbing a couple of slices here. The "small" pizza feeds 3 starving women, usually with 1 slice left over. Seriously, the pizza is huge here, so I don't know why everyone is still complaining about the price.

Would literally go here 2-3 times a week if I lived closer and would probably order delivery more often if it delivered to the DU campus.

    Tremendous pizza.

That was my entire review, drafted at 2a while a bit drunk. To expound just a little bit more, the slices are huge and taste is good. Not my *favorite* pizza joint but if someone were to bring some over I wouldn't say no.

We finally got over to Fat Sully's on the recommendation of a friend and glad we did. I definitely think this is the best pizza that I've had in Denver. The crust was perfect and the sauce was super tasty. Our server was right to suggest we get the large (26 inch) pizza. For four of us it was plenty of food.

I don't get the people on here who think it's too expensive. Our pizza was $26, which for a 26 inch pizza is reasonable. Also this is not  a chain restaurant as they only have two restaurant concepts, both very different, and both in the same building.

Wish I could have even tried the pizza.  Unfortunately, I was there with a large group for a planned catered event (nobody under 25) at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday and wasn't allowed in for not having an ID.   I could see this at a bar or late night, but at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday at a pizza place?  So, I was unable to join my group.  Total bummer. They should at least put this info on their website, which it's not.

Not to mention the guy at the door was totally rude: at least be cool about it! Not a good first impression.

    Review Source:

    First impression EXPENSIVE!

    Interested to try it though.

Received the pizza right around the allotted time.  This pizza is expensive if you order a whole large pizza.  I ordered a large pep and sausage and it was nearly $30 which is a bit steep.

Closest tasting pizza to this would be Abo's but Abo's is cheaper.

Crust was crisp and thin (which I like) and toppings were plentiful.  I probably won't order from again because Sexy Pizza, 3 Guys Pies, Abo's, etc provide just as big of pizzas and are easily just as good and don't cost nearly as much (almost $10 less).

One would think (a pizza snob that is) that this place has everything bad associated with it to not be a good slice.

    1.Location - Colorado
    2.A Chain restaurant
3.A Chain restaurant that's not a pizza company (Denver Biscuit Company)
    4.Gimmicky name/character - Sully (from the Bronx?)

Besides all that, I quite enjoyed my slice.  I never thought I could find a good NY style slice out west, especially in the mountains.  As simple as NY/NJ pizza is, so many screw it up.  A good slice when you miss that NY/NJ thin crust.

    *******SIDE NOTE*******
    Mandy G.

I think going back to Fat Sully's after writing in your review that you "would never go back to this place" is pretty weak of you as a reviewer.  You compromise your integrity and this site's integrity.  Do you always accept invitations to go back to restaurants that you give bad reviews to?  Even if it's a good review, do you take offers from owners that appreciate your review?

Now, I'm not going to use this review as an excuse to plug the kick-ass painting on the wall in the bar that the pizza is served in because I think it's the greatest thing I've ever seen and still plot to steal it, but on the other hand I guess I am, so there.

Besides, I needed to pad the review, because there really isn't much to say other than DAMN!!

I've been wanting to try it, so when the boyz threw out the idea of a guys night out involving beer and pizza (not mentioned is the flatulence and boob jokes that were bound to accompany - hey, these aren't my rules), I had to cast my vote. A jaunt down Colfax brought us to our goal (resisting...resisting...resisting...). This is a great pie, big fat slices of pure awesome deliciousness! Really, we all could see what all the fuss is about. One of the best pizza joints in the city, hands down!

And while I'm simply not going to get into the details, I hope it will make you happy to read that the statement "We were sexually offended by your pizza" was uttered during this excursion.

Fat Sullys = girl's phone number???? The Slice Truck +5'ed this guy's attractiveness last night outside the City Hall club. Hungry drunk girl spies average Joe holding a cheese pizza slice. Too hungry to walk the additional 15 feet, she begs him for a bite. He consents, she gets three bites, he gets 10 digits included area code - sounds like a good deal, right?

Wrong! You don't give anyone a bite of your Fat Sullys. It's too good to share with a stranger who might not understand the goodness exiting from the slice truck.

I'm fortunate Fat Sullys is in my neighborhood. It makes such an excellent late night snack. I really enjoy their ingredient list - kudos for having feta on the menu. These are fat slices, guarantee to knock your hunger out. Prices are reasonable, service is quick. Be wary - it's hot. You do have the foldable option though, so the hot cheese can be in the center and not the first thing your mouth engages.

I never tried Fat Sully's before the Westword Dish last Wednesday. Out of all the pizzas there, it was the best. So good I had to visit the A.C. and get a slice last weekend.

Fat Sully's genuinely is a slice of NYC. The perfect combination of  crispy yet chewy crust, tangy tomato sauce and gooey cheese. It takes me back to a place I used to frequent in the Bronx called Louie and Ernie's...that means it's REALLY good. I may have a problem.

If you're looking for New York / East coast-style pizza, this is it. I used to live in NYC and although I love it here in Denver, I had given up on finding those large, triangular slices of pizza with that East coast taste.

It's delicious, you can buy it by the slice (also a rarity for pizza in Denver), and you won't have to get on a plane to feel like you've found pizza like it's meant to be!

I've had so much great pizza lately, I fear my tastebuds are becoming addicted. It's my new year's resolution to exercise more, so it all balances out, right?

If you want your pizza big....and I mean BIG....Fat Sully's is the answer to your pizza dilemma. The slices are gigantic (the last time I was in I split a slice and it was the perfect amount), and a pie itself will literally take up your entire four top. Just don't expect to fool yourself into thinking you're eating healthy by ordering a side salad, because unfortunately they don't have a full menu anymore. However, if you feel like you want biscuits and gravy with your pizza, you've come to the right place since Denver Biscuit Company just opened up inside the Atomic last month. I haven't yet had the pleasure of eating them, but I can say they certainly look delicious.

    Tip: wear your stretchy pants.

As soon as I walked into this joint I knew it was a fiver for me. Not only was there a table loaded (I mean LOADED!) with board games, but I caught a glimpse of the pizza maker to my left and WOWZERS. Thas a big pizza. These peeps do not play around.

These pies are ginormous. You could eat off one of these bad boys for a week! Or maybe just a couple days... if you have a pizza problem like I do. (Hey, I'm goin' to meetings.) Their flavors are Neapolitan, white and even gluten free! For you skinnies out there, they also offer a fat free cheese pizza. Hmm, I'd eat it.

Toppings include meatballs, spinach, feta, Canadian bacon (eh?), garlic, artichoke hearts, pineapple, black olives (yum), pepperoni, sausage, sauteed green peppers and onions, mushrooms, and extra cheese. After loading your mouth with a pie, you might need to shovel in some sweetness too. They offer Boulder ice cream in different flavors. What is Boulder ice cream? Someone tell me. I need to know. Thanks.

Oh and a bonus! If you are too lazy to get off your couch, leave a neighboring bar, or just have a crush on the delivery dude, they'll bring a pie to you! Tiffany C and I picked up some pizza to feed the models and other lovely yelper helpers just before the Elite fashion show. I would have loved to try a piece when it was hot, but I was in the gift-bag-stuffing-frenzy zone. I have to say though, it tasted damn good after the event. I had a slice of the white pie and was very, very happy. I think my stomach tried to high five me.

Their slogan? "NY inspired. Locally owned." I like NY, and I like you too Fat Sully's. I sure do.

OM to the Mutha F'n G these pizza's are the size of Melos rims on his SUV! Seriously a full pie has to be 22-24" inches at least crazy huge!

So I was doing the double shot review and came to Atomic Cowboy for HH and located right inside off it to the left is Fat Sully's! A small little Pizza Nook in one of my new favorite bars in Denver!

Looked over the menu and thought of ordering a whole pie because I have been known to make a dent in a Pizza. It's a little known fact that back in the day Sesame Street hit a stale streak and was looking for new character's, me as the Pizza monster was in strong consideration but Cookie Monster being the diva he is had built into his contract a no compete clause which his lawyers wrangled into meaning no monsters eating food like him! Oh man how fun would it have been to sing P is for Pizza and that's good enough for me!

So I ponied up for a slice with my go to topping's Pep, Meatball and Onions, the slice came and it was the size of one of my Nike shoe boxes size 12! They meatball was crumbled which was ok I prefer it sliced which many places do not do, it was adequately topped with pep and the onions were the nice grilled thick onions I love. And wow sorry Enzo's I still love you but I am in love with Fat Sully's slice now its was perfect thin crispy slice, just enough cheese just enough sauce and the toppings were just what I needed!

I will definitely be back, not just for a slice but for a whole pizza as well, housing this new Pizza spot in the middle of the ultra cool Cowboy is triple gold star smiley face!
