I had a great time there! The food is fantastic, the beer, I heard, was very nice. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the waiters were all helpful. Very nice, very worth your time.

What is with their menu? It's all over the place. Dinner menu hasn't even got burgers unless you ask for the bar menu. Why are they separate? Service sucked. Server forgot water for me twice. Burgers were awful. Live band was annoying. The layout is good but that's the only plus. Don't waste your time.

After reading the online reviews, I was looking forward to meeting my husband here after work & enjoying a nice dinner. Unfortunately, my experience was less than pleasant. I sat at my table for 15 minutes & was completely ignored. I counted at least 8 servers who continuous walked past me, no smiles, no "can I help you?", nothing. I waved down a passing employee to ask for a menu...the guy rudely threw his hands up in the air and angrily muttered, "Hey, I'm just the bartender here!" as he walked away. My husband (sensing my building irritation), walked over to a server a few feet away. She reluctantly took our order of chicken skewers. At this point a man who maybe was the manager (?) came over and said hello. I explained to him that I had been in the restaurant for at least 20 minutes and completely ignored. The man proceeded to explain to me about whether anyone had seated me (?). The answer was 'no". He left and returned 10 minutes later to show me a diagram & proceed to explain to me on how tables are assigned to be served. This just irritated me even more--I turned around and noted to this man that there were at least 5 tables DIRECTLY behind me that had a server and were being waited on. He left and 5 minutes later our server Miguel was at our table. Note: Miguel was the same waiter who was taking orders from the 5 tables behind mine. Although Miguel was very attentive and came by periodically to ask if I needed anything, the damage had been done. I was thoroughly disgusted by the treatment and disrespect I was treated with. I have no idea how this place stays in business with such pathetic and poor customer service.

We went here for lunch. The atmosphere is beautiful right next to the duck pond. We had high hopes for this place given it's great location. Unfortunately, the menu is pretty boring. The service was painfully slow and they still messed up our order. We won't be coming back.

It's big! To bad I'm not a size queen.
Lovely layout with good enough service.
The food is good even if its trying too hard to be imaginative.
A few of the beers are good, the "best bitter" for example. Not one part of this place is something I would drive for. If I lived near by I would probably go a couple times a season.
Safe for a working lunch or a casual first date.

Awful service! Was ignored for first 15 minutes we were sitting at our table. Did not check on us at all after getting our food. Ran out of drinks. Watched wait staff rolling eyes at management. Food was ok, and my steak was cooked just as I asked...the service just seriously left something to be desired

Excellent restaurant. Great Service, Catrina, thank you. Love the menu, and the homemade rootbeer is great too. Love the duck pond too.

I honestly don't see what all the commotion is about this place. A lot of my teams love to come here for lunch or happy hour and I honestly can't understand why. It must be the drinks. I previously mentioned that I never go to a restaurant for the drinks, so this review will only be in reference to the food. The food is simply mediocre. The dishes are bland and lack culinary technique. There's really nothing on the menu that is appealing to me in any aspect. I've had a fish entree, fries and many of the appetizers, but only because I was hungry and needed food in my system. This restaurant is in a great location and seems to attract a lot of customers as it is close to many businesses. However, I will only give this place another chance if it focuses its efforts on the menu and knock me off my feet.

I'm in town on business and this is the place a group of colleagues agreed on for after-work drinks and conversation, on the theory that the food and beer are just mediocre enough that it wouldn't be too crowded at all times to chat, but just good enough to still be enjoyable.

The truth is, yes, the food is fairly mediocre, standard bar fare, but there are some amazing surprises that bump this up from a three-star place to grab a burger with a pleasant atmosphere, to a four-star spot where I'll return next time I'm in town.

First and most important: Our server (Cetavia) was a genuine delight. I can't tell you how much the entire table appreciated her! Not only did she manage us and a party of 45 (that's not a typo) at the same time, she had time to make everyone feel that she personally wanted us to have a great time at Faultline. When the 45-top accidentally ordered a $20 margarita that they didn't want, she brought it over and offered it to our party (I'm a teetotaler, but I'm told it was delicious enough to be worth the $20!). She didn't bat an eye at special requests (mine was executed flawlessly), at people joining the party after others had ordered and even paid, or even at a late comer ordering only water (yes, the late comer tipped anyway, of course--my colleagues are classy like that).

One of our group is a former restaurant manager, and made the comment that "If I was still in the restaurant business, I would be giving her my card and my best sales pitch to poach her away from this place."

If you're considering visiting Faultline, do yourself a favor and see if you can manage to be seated in Cetavia's section!

Second awesome surprise: It's a bar that makes an excellent mocha. As a non-drinker, that's is SO appreciated. Mocha was better than most fancy coffee shops make. Was skeptical about its being served with a straw (Oh God tongue burn incoming) but it was at the ideal drinking temperature and was delicious.

Third awesome not-so-surprise: I knew there would be ducks, but there's also an amazingly cool goose thing that we think might be an Egyptian (???) goose. Also, the ducks are very friendly and I managed to sneak them a bit of pita bread. (Yes, feeding ducks is wrong, but come on, these are tame ducks.)

Food: Ribs appetizer was delicious according to colleagues (I didn't try it, no pork for me) and tempura ahi rolls were perfectly acceptable for $11.50 ahi rolls, not a ton of ahi but yummy overall and hit the spot. Burger was just OK, but the kitchen accommodated special requests without trouble and very quickly. Two tablemates had fish and chips and declared the fish "very rich, very good." Fries were nothing special.

Atmosphere: I loved the patio, and enjoyed the overall environment. Both family-friendly and professional-friendly, tricky to pull off in the same place.

Service: A+++++++++++++++.

I will be back next time I'm in the area! Only reason this doesn't get five stars is the fairly ordinary food, but honestly, it was a five star experience for me even without exceptional food. I'll remember the evening for a long time!

Meh. I've had a http://restaurant.com coupon for this place since 2008! Tried to use it once back then but they were closed on weekends. What kind of brewery is closed on weekends? Well now they have limited hours on Saturday so checked it out on the way down to a show in San Jose. I got a chuckle upon walking in, what a strange space...so cavernous and very 80's/early 90's looking. But clean and ok. The food--hummus was disgusting. Another review (that I read after, unfortunately) likened it to cat food and that is the perfect description. It had absolutely no flavor. Like eating mushy air. No garlic, tahini, nothing. Very thick and greyish. The veggies with it were clearly old. The carrots had that whitish look. I had the chicken piccatta. The chicken itself was kind of dry and unremarkable. The dish was somewhat redeemed by tasty fried capers on top (I've never seen that before), and solid mashed potatoes and awesome garlicky green beans. Hubby had a jamaican fish special that he liked. The service was adequate. Had to ask for bread three times though. The beer was just eh. I didn't really like the Kolsch and hubby didn't like his first beer either, though I forget what it was. Then we got IPA's which were better but not awesome or anything. I'd give one more star if the prices weren't so crazy. What the hell? At least they took my old coupon without complaint, I'll give them that...but I won't be back.

Great beer selection. Perfect place for Happy Hour. They were just out of 2 food items we tried to order on the menu (1 was the special-stuffed peppers, the other was a dessert-bananas foster bread pudding). What we did have was very tasty and I would go back. They just need to plan a little better to be stocked with specials and desserts.

My default place for customer lunches. Close, convenient, menu always has something for someone. And it has a nice array of beer for the meetings that really need alcohol to run smoother.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I've come here for lunch twice with coworkers.

Positives:
-There's a pond and some ducks in the back, so the outside seating is very pretty if you're in the shade.
-The servers we had were really nice.

Other than that.. I'm kinda meh. The blackened mahi mahi in my tacos tasted dry, and there needed to be some more sauce or something on top. It looked promising when I got it but was definitely lacking some flavor. It came with rice and some corn bean soup - I actually liked the soup (even though it was 90 degrees at the time hehe), but it wasn't enough to redeem the dish.

The previous time I had tried the mahi mahi sandwich, the stir fry (the others really liked this), some fish dish, and I forget the rest, but the stir fry was the only thing that really stood out, the rest were kind of boring.

I really want to like this place though, the inside looks cool and the outside is a very relaxing place to sit, but I definitely will not be getting the fish tacos again. It probably didn't help that when I came back to work my team members told me "OH NO you got the fish tacos?! I should've told you they were terrible!!!!!!". Haha.

Service was the highlight of this place and I wasn't there very long. I got the flight of beer tasters and they were meh, not too exciting at all. My falafal appitizer was overdone and lacking flavor as well. Its too bad since the resaurant looks fun with live music. Maybe the other food seals the deal...

Food - Meh.

Ambiance - Great networking place in Silicon Valley.

Ducks - Cute!

I've been here many times with my fiancé and it's become one of our favorite date places. First off the outside view is gorgeous! Not at all what I was expecting, there's a pond and willow trees and at night time there are white christmas type lights outside to add to the ambiance. I love how the inside is built to look like a lodge or a cabin, totally reminds me of being in nature.

The beer is tasty, and I'm not usually a beer drinker, but I've lately developed a taste for it. Every time I've gone, the food has been delicious, I miss their Ahi Poki though, where they put the ahi tuna on the wonton chips with a mixture of avocado and other yummy ingredients. The Ahi Rolls are just as good though. The deserts are also amazing. I think my only complaint is that since they have started advertising, the restaurant has gotten significantly more busy then when we first ate there, but that just means it's a good place to go!

I also love the live music that they have, and it's always a different local artist.

Bottom line, I highly recommend it!

I came here with my colleagues for the Teacher Appreciation Month promotion. Faultline Brewing Company is a supporter of teachers and $1 for every item on the special menu will be donated to our Teacher Innovation Program through June 7!

I had the Bangers 'n Mash and the Fish 'n Chips and both were very tasty. The mash had a very good flavor. The fish had good texture and the batter was crisp and flavorful. My friend got the fish 'n chips three times in the last two weeks! The Michelada was also a refreshing complement to the dishes.

The ambience of the restaurant is upbeat and fun and a great lunchtime spot. Highly recommend for a nicer lunch with colleagues.

Really pleasantly surprised during my last few visits, they have improved recently. The beer is awesome, we had the Hefewisen and the Stout, both were amongst the best that I have had in recent memory. The food was better than you will find at Gordon Bierch, BJ's or Los Gatos Brewing Company. It was Saturday so the restaurant was very quiet and service was speedy (it gets nuts during the week days). We had the Jumbalaya Pasta and the hamburger both were very tasty! Plus there was a guy singing Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake songs while playing a hand held keyboard, how awesome is that!?!

This place was great! I'm so glad I found out there's a place that brews there own beer only minutes from work. First off, this place is really big with a very long bar so finding a spot to drink or eat shouldn't be a problem unless they are just insanely busy. They also have outdoor seating in back overlooking a scenic little pond. I tried 3 of their beers: a Belgian, and IPA, and a stout and honestly all 3 were terrific. I can't comment too much on the food as my crew and I just picked on some appetizers but they were all good and nobody had any complaints. I shall return next time I'm out there.

Beer? Good.
Food. Great.
Atmosphere? Wonderful.
Beer garden? Yes and it is excellent.
Sports? Always on. (Go Giants!)
Silly side note, the bathrooms are always clean, which is always worth an extra star in my book.
I always have an amazing time when I come, either with my boyfriend or a group of friends. It's my go to good time place.

So I came here last Friday with my Groupon in hand. The Groupon included 1 appetizer and 2 beer flights.

First of all, parking sucks! After driving around the lot for a few minutes we decided to suck it up and park across the street.

We were seated in the main dining area and ordered our flights and a butternut squash dip with tortilla chips and veggies. I asked for 1/2 chips and 1/2 veggies and we were charged an extra $5 for the veggies. Keep in mind that the Groupon was only $10! Even with the extra $5 for veggies, they were limp and looked like they had been sliced 2 days prior. Also, to top it all off the dip was terrible! It was greasy and tasteless. Worst appetizer ever!

The beer was good, but I can find good beer anywhere. Hello Yard House!. I would not come here again, even with a Groupon!!!!

For the serious beer connoisseur Faultline is disappointing. They have their varieties as well as higher gravity brews but the tastes are in some cases indistinguishable between brews as if they start with the same boil for each beer then flavor it afterwards. I'll drink Faultline beer, I won't say it's bad beer, but it didn't exactly knock my socks off either.

A popular happy hour brewery as we see it. Came on Friday night for dinner and the bar section was really crowded while the table dining section was only 1/3 full. Although it's a brewery, we see a lot of family with kids come to dine.

We had a groupon deal for beer flight and appertizer and the waiter was smart enough to start us right away on the beer flights. I like the flight because it gives me a chance to taste all their beer from light flavor to dark. My favorites are Hefe Weizen and Pale Ale, all with a sweet finish.

For dinner, we chose a special of the night, which is lamb shank and a steak. The portions of the dishes were generous and the flavors were good. My lamb was cooked to a very soft and smooth texture and the side dish was full of flavor. The steak tasted a bit light to my palate but it was also good according to my hubby's comment.

Overall, it's a good dinner choice and the view of the pond and Friday night live band is bonus to the experience.

The food here was awful. The sauce in the penne pasta was strange...not sure I can really call it a sauce...it was watery. We also had the jambalaya pasta which was better but still pretty bad. I don't shy away from spicy food but this was way too spicy.

The beer was decent. I was surprised it won so many 'awards'...the beer didn't have enough complexity.

Lastly, the service was the only redeeming quality about my visit. The waitress was nice and attentive.

Overall, I was really disappointed. I tried this place because I had a groupon (which helped soften the blow) but I won't be back...

3.5 stars - Pretty good, overall... Faultline is a good spot to get together with a group to catch up, watch some sports on their TVs, and have a couple beers. The beer selection is pretty broad - there should be something for every taste - and the food is okay. Don't get me wrong, it is FAR from terrible, it just won't blow your socks off. As far as pub grub goes, it's dependable. A little pricey, though...

Not a lot vegetarian choices though.

Took a visiting co-worker out to dinner before he caught a flight.

St. Patrick's Day specials - he had the corned beef and cabbage and loved it.

I had the ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender and tasty, but the garlic mashed potatoes and blue cheese slaw that accompanied them were over-the-top flavorful, and really brought the meal to perfection.

As for the beers - hey, it's a microbrewery, you think they'd have BAD beers? Not a chance!

Food was really good (but a little pricey for the breweries I've been to). I had the gumbo and was really happy with it.

Beer was good, palatable... 3.5/5 stars.

Service was really good as well. They saw we had groupons and brought over the sampler pretty quickly and went through the beers quickly before letting us dive in.

Like a lot of other people,I have come here multiple times for work functions. Its in a great location for businesses. However, for dinner, I don't think there is anything fabulous about it - the food is just ok, service is just ok, and atmosphere is just ok.

I do think they have a nice bar area and if the right game, right crowd it can be a fun place to watch sports.

Food:
I give the food 2 stars. We had the Steamed Mussels and Fried Calamari for appetizers. Both were OK. Nothing special. The mussels were crispy but the batter didn't have enough flavor so I needed to dip it into the sauce. The mussels were a little on the dry side (normally they are plump and juicy).
I ordered the Fish and Chips. They both were nicely fried and crispy but the fish's batter was lacking flavor. Once again, with heavy tartar sauce, it was decent. A member of my party ordered the lamb shank and that was average as well. It was tender but wasn't that flavorful.

Beer:
I give it 4 stars for the beers. I got the 8 beer sampler to try all their brews (they were out of the cask that night). Each sample is a 3 oz. pour for $1.25. It was a great way for me to try everything since I haven't been here in a couple of years. I quickly found my favorite. Others in my party had their own favorite so it really is about your personal taste so I highly recommend doing the samples. BTW, my favorite was the stout. It was creamy without being overly bitter. I was pleasantly surprised with the IPA which had a fruity flavor to it.

Service:
The service was good...4 stars. We had reservations for Saturday night at 7:45. It wasn't that busy that Saturday night. Our server Mike checked on us often enough and helped clear plates/cups as we went along. He was attentive without checking in too often. We were there talking, eating and enjoying our beers for 2 1/2 hours and we didn't feel rushed. I was pleased with the service.

In summary, not sure if I would go back. If I do, it would be to grab a beer.

Like a fine wine and "Thriller", the FaultLine has only gotten better with age. I've been eating and drinking there since 2000, and am happy to say that there food has only gotten better, and their beer continues to be good to great.

Personal favorites...fish and chips or grilled chicken with a Kolsch or DoubleBoch.

Good for families, but better for happy hour, "wet" work lunches, or whenever you have a hankering for a good brew.

I came here for Christmas Lunch with my company.
The restaurant is not too classy, but its woody look creates a unique style of a brewing place.
Seafood Gumbo was highly recommended by both the server and my boss, so I ordered that. The dish came out with lots of seafood: Scallops, Shrimps, fish, muscles, etc.. I ate finished everything but left most of the rice. I think this dish is OK-Good, but it is definitely not WOW. I've had something like that or better before.
I also tried several appetizers. Ceviche is fine but again not great. Hummus was below average. It is too bland. It didn't have much or any taste. I did not like the Hummus here.
I and the coworkers also got a tiramisu to share. IT looks great and tastes OK.
Price is good. Food doesn't have big selection, mostly burgers.

Was forced to come back here due to a co-worker's birthday decision to eat here. So we took the trek down from the office and boy were we all disappointed. The wait staff is very courteous and friendly so that's a definite plus, which is one of the only reasons this is a 2 star instead of 1 star review.

I had the spicy fish tacos only to find they weren't spicy. My tolerance for spiciness is most likely higher than the normal caucasian so I didn't mind too much, especially since I asked for the handy tobasco sauce. But what was killer was how bland and tasteless the dish was. There were practically no flavors coming out of the food, just an overall blandness to it. It wasn't even because it needed salt, that wouldn't of helped the pitiful state of this dish. My colleagues also commented how bland their dishes were. This on top of the fact my little fish tacos were $14!!! Very poor quantity for the money.

The other reason this place keeps its 2 stars instead of 1 star is because I do remember enjoying the beer here. The live band (at night i believe) is a plus too.

Seems like a place to visit for happy hour more than a sit down meal of any sort.

The exposed wood and metal decor lends well to the brewery setting. Plenty of TVs, too, so you have something to watch while you enjoy your beer.

The food, however, was just mediocre. Besides the seafood gumbo, which our server recommended, nothing really stood out. The ceviche was crisp and fresh, but the chips that came with is were slightly stale. The hummus was rather bland and not very garlicky at all, and none of the other appetizers made much of an impression. The gumbo, though, was hearty (lots of scallops, shrimp, fish, sausage, and mussel) and just spicy enough to be delicious--thanks to our waiter for the suggestion! The rest of the menu is your run of the mill American food--salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, etc.

The service was attentive to the point of bordering on too much. Our servers repeatedly asked if we wanted our plates taken away, even when there was food still left on them. It almost seemed like they were eager to get them cleared and done with.

I don't get why people don't like Faultline. First of all, it is a brewery. The patronage are not your health-centric vegans. The main reason for coming to Faultline is to drink and talk to friends over alcohol. For this purpose, Faultline is as good as it gets. The crowd probably agreed with me.

Order whatever in casket condition. Otherwise, Best Bitter is my favorite here. The Jambalaya was filled with seafood, sausage, and spicy just enough. The drummets were simply chicken wings, fried slightly on the chewy side and also spicy just enough.

They are open for football Sundays!
We were a large group, coming in for lunch. We ordered the calamari and veggie nachos for appetizers, both were devoured. This place is cavernous, plenty of seating. On our visit, most people were by the bar, watching the NFL action. They've got a pond with water fowl behind the restaurant, kept the kiddos occupied. Only downside was our waiter who left us for stretches. Luckily the other staff covered for him a couple of times. Including, replacing an undercooked burger. Definitely will return, wearing a jersey, looking to watch a game or 2.

Came here to meet a friend for some after work drinks the other day ago. The bar was slammed at 6:30pm on a Thursday. Absolutely no seating for the two of us. So we sat in the restaurant part. (Plenty of spaces)

Our waiter dude was cool and helped us pick out some fabulous brewskies. I had the Hefe and she had the Belgian Blonde. We shared a few appetizers:

Summer Bruschetta: Le YUM! Blue cheese, goat cheese, pears, pineapple, and peaches. Heaven. So good!

Fried Zucchini: Tasty. I liked the horseradish dip.

There was another dish that is no longer on their menu and for the life of me, I can't remember what it was, but it was good.

I would come back for sure, but it does get super busy and parking can be a nightmare and a half. Overall, 4 stars!
