Setting: Hungry customer, coupon in hand, descending into the dark recesses of 100 S. Wacker. Â Customer orders "special" of 2 pieces of chicken and 1 side with a soda "real cheap"!
Outcome: 1 Leg / thigh (that is 2 pieces and for godsake they weren't just about to close"!), greasy side of rice and vegetables, flat soda.
If oil is a way to cover up bland tasting food - my meal would've taken the cake!
I should've known better when I saw the "baked" chicken swimming in oil that this was not going to be good. When I sat down to eat, I discovered to my delight that the rice was also swimming in obviously not it's own juices and my diet Pepsi was not only calorie free but tasteless!
I was complicit in the bad meal deal by not asking for a refund but by eating the W H O L E thing! So, my responsibility was to say "no", their's - be more attentive to the customer and offer better food.
I've eaten there before and have been fairly satisfied - I'll give them one more try....to be continued!
I go here most days for lunch and the occassional breakfast. Â The Pro's -The staff, especially Harvey! Â As for the food - for the same price of an egg McMuffin and hash browns I get two eggs cooked to order, a side of bacon or sausage (reg or turkey), hash browns and my choice of toast. As for lunch, I generally get a sandwich or burger. The BLT's and the chicken salad are my favorites. The salad bar is improving with more items to put on a salad and the soups are usually very good. The Con's - The biggest negative on my part - The owner periodically decides that pickles are too expensive and he decides not to carry them until he receives enough complaints, then he re-stocks them only to go through this process over and over again. As for the prepared specials, the pasta is usually overcooked and mushy and most items are way too salty.
Review Source:I went to this place because it was pouring outside and I figured I'd stay in the buidling for lunch. I get in there and there is absolutely no method to the madness. It's a free-for-all of customers calling out orders, I waited at least 10 minutes for my sandwich and another 5 in line to pay. Then, after my sandwich was finally made the person says "Would you like fries or rice?" So, I tell her fries - only to find out at the cashier that fries are not included. So my $3.99 sandwich is now $5.50 and I could have officially gone to Subway and gotten chips with a sub for cheaper. The fries were bland and had a mushy texture, the chicken parmesan was on a tastless bun and was extremely salty - and I love salt. I won't be back. I don't recommend you go either. You can get an equally unhealthy, but much better tasting McDouble with a Small Fry at McDonald's, with better service for $3 cheaper.
