On my first weekend in Denver, I decided to check out Finley's. Close to home, good yelp reviews, good beers, I was excited. My experience did not disappoint. My burger was FANTASTIC. The flavor was so good. I couldn't even eat the whole thing, it made a great snack for lunch the next day. Everyone was so friendly: patrons, the bartender, and the owner. They had just celebrated their 1 year anniversary, so we got some complimentary jello shots (which are probably not a part of their regular rotation).
The ambiance is great. It was a little quiet both times I visited, but it was kind of refreshing. The bar wasn't crowded, the service was great. I am use to having to fight for a seat, but that wasn't the case here.
I recently went back for happy hour after work and was not disappointed. Great prices (especially for well drinks). I'll be bringing in my folks when they visit from out of town.
Overall, nice neighborhood joint with yummy beers, tasty treats and great service!
Great food and a great rotating beer selection in a cool pub atmosphere. Â What else could you want?
Fantastic Burgers and Shepard's pie, but really it's just refreshing for a place to be exactly what they are and nothing else. Â They do what they do well and don't try to be "fancy" about it.
There is nothing not to like about Finley's.
This is my "Cheers", I love going here. Â Excellent selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Â If you like bourbon I would suggest the Angel's Envy. Â The food is great, although I do miss the shepard's pie croquettes even though they do have a traditional one now. Â The burger is one of the best I've had in the city, the mac n' cheese, and brussels sprouts are great choices. Â The staff is always happy to see my girlfriend and I and anticipate the drink we want as soon as we sit down at the bar. Â I always recommend this pub to everyone I know and I will recommend it to you the reader of this review. Â It is kid friendly since the families in the neighborhood are always in here too. Â All in all it is a great neighborhood pub.
Review Source:Finley's is a neighborhood gem. Pete does an outstanding job of making people feel welcome and keeping great beers on tap here. The prices are very reasonable for great micros, and the happy hour is one of the best in Denver when you consider that they have Lagunitas and Firestone Walker on their rotating tap for under five bucks. They also usually have a new Colorado beer on their rotating taps to go along with favorites such as Great Divide, Avery, and Oskar Blues. Definitely give this place a try if you're around Wash Park.
Review Source:Stopped in the other day after meaning to go for sometime now and all I can say is WOW! Â I had the burger with tot and my girlfriend had the fish and chips and both were TERRIFIC! Â Even the slaw that came with the fish was awesome (it had vinegar in it, which I love in my slaw). Â The french fries, which tasted similar to McDonalds, we second only to the crispy tots. If you are looking for some great food and a cozy atmosphere, this is your spot.
Review Source:This was my second visit to Finley's Pub. Â The first time was 5 stars easily. Not sure what happened between visits, Â but the burger tasted sub-par.... Didnt have the short ribs mixed in possibly ? We also had the Irish Nachos which werent as good either. Â Disappointing since we loved the 1st visit. Â Hope they go back to the old formula please.
Review Source:The sirloin burger with bacon and short ribs was the bomb! Â It melted in my mouth and I devoured the entire thing. Â The fries and fresh Brussel sprouts hit the spot too and the service was great. Â They even have "beer ketchup" - a nice, unique touch. Â I'll definitely be back when I'm craving a tasty burger in a pub-like atmosphere!
Review Source:Finley's is great. Â It's a pub which is simply a pub - nothing more; nothing less. Â They have a great beer selection and the food is delicious. Â They know exactly what they're doing with the menu; keep it simple, but make the food really really good. Â I've had their tots, fries, lamb burger, finelys burger, mac n cheese, and arugula salad (not all in the same sitting, of course), and I enjoyed every bite.
The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, and the service is great. Â
Go there for the food, for a drink, or both, and you won't be disappointed.
Completely below average experience.
My friend and I came the day after St. Patrick's Day and it was dead. One bartender, who served us wine with some residue on the bottom of the glass (she apologized and poured new glasses).
The "nachos" were ok at best. Nothing to write home about.
Go buy yourself this burger now - you will not regret it.
After reading the yelp reviews, I decided to go check this place out and it did not disappoint. Â It lived up to it's hype and was accompanied by great tap beer prices and amazing friendly service. Â
Go get the "Enjoy By 4/20" Stone IPA while you can - it is tapped at Finley's and the keg will be gone ater 4/20. Â Between this IPA (one of the best I've ever had) and the burger (the best I've ever had)? I left as one happy camper.
I am excited to go back and try other menu options...although really...how much better can it get than a perfectly-cooked burger topped with bacon and bernaise? I'm not sure it can...
The food here is tasty and creative but service was extremely slow , and with very few people there at the time. I will chalk it up to being new but it took over an hour from the time I sat until the time my food arrived. Our order was not even taken for 30 minutes. Â Great beer selection and the place has a good feel. Â Work out the service issues and it will be a neighborhood staple.
Review Source:This is a review I've meant to write for a long, long time. Finley's is the best burger in the neighborhood, best burger in town, and in the running for best burger nationally. Ground chuck packed with braised short rib? Yes. Nice, thick-cut Irish bacon? Yes. Fresh greens? Yes. Bearnaise sauce? OH SWEET GOD, YES.
A bar has no business doing food this well, but they manage at Finley's.
Other awesome menu items:
Shrimp and Grits - This southern treat is done the right way at Finley's. It's got a bit of kick, and is full of flavor. The grits are cooked just right, the shrimp is seasoned perfectly. A beautiful dish.
Shepherd's Pie - Served in the traditional manner. Flawlessly executed.
They also rotate new beers into the taps on a regular basis, meaning there's almost always something new (and wonderful!) to try at Finley's.
Thanks to Pete and Dana and Kacie for always providing a wonderful experience. See you soon!
Holy cow! Â I can't believe it took me so long to eat at Finley's! Â This place is amazing! Â Stopped by here on a whim last Friday and could not have been more delighted. Â The drinks were cheap and plentiful, the food was delectable and the vibe was fantastic. Â
I ate the Finley's burger, perfectly cooked and spiced to perfection. Â My gal had the baby arugula salad and couldn't have been happier. Â Unfortunately, we just missed the happy hour which from the website looks to be amazing(2.00 mixed drinks)! That being said, I will be back very shortly! Â We were seated right away at 7:00 without a reservation so check plus for that, but I figure it will be getting busier when people realize the greatness of this place. Â
Overall, I was very impressed and plan on getting back soon, I highly recommend the same for my fellow yelpers!
You can't get a much better beer selection in the area. Not only do the craft beers constantly rotate on tap...they are included in the happy hour which is huge! They are already a good value...and they get better from 4-7, on top of the $3.00 guinness!
Not to mention the food is surprisingly fresh and tasty...keep an eye out for the daily specials because lately they have been to die for. Â Last week I had a lamb risotto stuffed red pepper that was out of this world.
Great service, great beer, and great food...an A+ in my book.
Finley's Pub is your quintessential neighborhood pub. Finley's is the place to get a proper pint of Guinness when you've out-grown cheap Coors Lights next door at CandleLight.
Their "Finley Burger" is a braised short-rib patty, and dressed with ground chuck applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, raw white onion, and a bearnaise sauce. The bun was good, but not memorable. For $12 it comes with fries (which they were out of, so I went with tots).
The burger patty was HUGE, so it was difficult to get a full bite of everything all at once. I asked for it to be cooked medium, and I thought that it was fairly accurately cooked. The problem with such a big burger patty though, is that when  you cook the burger to medium in the middle, some of the sides tend to be a little over-done. In this case, some parts of the large burger patty were a lot over-done. Big bonus points for the cheese being melted into the meat, and the bacon was awesome. It was kind of a little meatier bacon, almost like Irish bacon. The bearnaise sauce was rich, but worked well with the burger and was a little different taste that made the Finley Burger unique.
Overall, it was definitely a good burger, but the bites that included a mostly overdone and too-meaty burger patty were what left the most lasting impression.
I'd definitely come back when I'm in the mood for a well poured pint of Guinness.
Hey now, watch out! I am in love with Finley's Pub. Never have I ever consumed a Salmon burger, and certainly - never have I ever enjoyed one in an Irish Pub. The menu, although short and simple, is solid with what seem to be fresh ingredients available at the time. No average cobb salad or chicken tenders here. There's a clear theme of a few key ingredients that they tie into every entree and appetizer.
Salmon isn't my favorite protein source, but when a place (an Irish pub no less) has me gobbling down a thick cut of the river fish, I'm down. Everything from the toasted bun to to the sauce and grilled onions atop the salmon patty came together in delicous harmony.
Likewise to the food, the service was also spectacular. The server was prompt and friendly, which allowed the space to be even more warm and welcoming. And the best part? It's just a block away and in walking distance from my abode. I have a feeling I will be guzzling down local beers and gorging myself with good food at Finley's for months to come!
We live in the neighborhood and had heard good things - now I've been twice in the same week! It's a chill vibe, with GREAT food. Everything we had was great - the burger might be in my top 5 ever. Love the arugula salad with goat cheese fritters. Their sweet potato fries were also delicious and both desserts get an A. The menu is small, but everything is high quality and I thought the prices were absolutely reasonable. Cheers to Finley's - we'll be back!!
Review Source:So I went to Finley's Pub aboput a month ago and meant to write a review. This is a really nice little Irish pub. Absolutely beautiful bar! Not a huge beer/wine selection but very good beers on tap. I just went for a snack and a few beers and i really enjoyed the place. Friendly service, good beer. Check this place out!
Review Source:I really wish I could give Finley's a 5-star review! Â I just can't though. Â First of all, this joint is new, and it still has some new touches to it. Â I think its better if I just post some plusses and minuses:
Plusses:
-Trendy hip location
-Small menu (good to start out small and do it right)
-Unique menu (great selection of pub-type grub)
-Great beer selection
-Great atmosphere
-Friendly & helpful staff
-Great looking bar with comfortable bar stools
Minuses:
-Menu is just a printed 8x11 piece of paper (invest in laminated copies?)
-Bit loud even for a pub (maybe put in a bit of noise muffling panels?)
-Lacking in group seating (we had 5 and it wasn't easy)
-Odd TV situation (if you're gonna have them, make sure you have enough and positioned just right)
Now, my food was *bleeping* excellent. Â I took the advice of other Yelpers and ordered the Finley Burger. Â It is definitely a competitor for best burger I've EVER had. Â I love burgers and usually order them when I try a new place, wherever I go. Â I searched Yelp for "Great Burgers in Denver." Â This was a top listing, and I was not disappointed. Â The mix of braised short rib meat and chopped sirloin topped with bacon was phenomenal. Â The next time we go in, I will try the Shepard's Pie as it looked great as well.
My reason for a 4 and not 5 was that our waitress was just a bit odd in her mannerisms and made us all feel awkward at least 3 times. Â Maybe she just couldn't hear us over the noise. Â I guess noise means you're busy, but it was loud. Â I'm sure it will easy to upgrade to a 5-star when things get more consistent.
Bummer.  Was craving one of their great burgers.  No longer open for lunch.  That's too bad because there is a very slim chance that I will be going there at night.  Parking is hard enough during the day but impossible at night with Thai Basil, Central I, Scandalight, Fontana Sushi, Bittersweet, Swing Thai and CafeBar within a block or so.  Plus, Royal Crest and neighbors hogging what little street  parking is available with city approved parking restrictions.  Not worth the hassle unless you can walk.
Review Source:Finley's is my favorite place to eat and drink in Wash Park. Â I have eaten here probably 10 times now and have gone through almost their entire menu. Â Everything I have had I would get again, especially the burger.
Late night happy hour is awesome. Â I think it is $2 wells and beers after 10pm. Â Pete the owner always says hi when he is around and it just has a great vibe to it.
If you live close you have to walk over and try it. Â If you live across town drive over and check it out because the burger alone is worth the drive.
The food is delicious (had the Irish nachos and a burger), but some of the entree's are really pricey for a pub. Â They definitely go above and beyond with their food quality. Â Unfortunately they were sold out of some items on the menu. Â Happy hour specials are good here. Â By far one of the cleanest and classiest places in West Wash Park. Â It was pretty quiet for a Friday night, not sure if many people know about it (it's right next to Candlelight) or if the cold weather kept everyone home that night. Â I will be back.
Review Source:Two words: Finley Burger.  The meat is a mixture of braised short rib and chopped sirloin, topped with applewood smoked bacon, Tilamook Cheddar and house-made Béarnaise sauce.  This may be the best burger that I have ever eaten.
It has everything you want in a pub. Â I love the long bar, it has a great happy hour, and a friendly staff. Â I will definitely be back to Finley's Pub.
Finley's Pub confuses me, but I like it. I'm confused because I never thought a pub would have such good cocktails. And even though the menu is a small one the offerings are unique and delicious. Again a surprise for a pub.
I met some friends for a late dinner here and we started with the Cajun Tots which are just regular tater tots as far as I can tell but they come with Andouille Creolaise. This reminds me a little of an aioli sauce with bits or Andouille sausage in it. Tasty. They also make their own ketchup in Finley's - it's a beer ketchup and quite nice.
For my dinner I ordered the Finley Burger which is a braised short rib and chopped sirloin patty topped with applewood smoked bacon, Tilamook cheddar, and a béarnaise. Pretty dang good burger if you ask me.This came with what is described as "Herbed Shoestring Fries" but are most definitely not shoestring. I think mine were just regular, run of the mill fries.
It's a good bar to have dinner or just hang out in and when I was there around 9 on a Wednesday it was fairly quiet so if you have a group it may be good for you. All in all I'd definitely go back for food, drinks, or both!
I'm always looking for delicious options in West Wash Park. We were so excited to find this new place and read all the positive reviews. It did not disappoint. We tried the cajun tots, arugula salad, sauteed green beans and the burger... definitely a step-up from the typical pub fare. I can see this place becoming a local favorite for a bite to eat or some casual drinks... or most likely both. I would suggest adding more variety to the draft menu. Seemed to be a lot of IPAs.
Review Source:This place was an awesome surprise.
I wasn't expecting much (being in the building in its previous form as a Mexican restaurant I couldn't picture it as a pub), and honestly thought many of the reviews on here were not genuine.
A+ for beer selection (on tap!), and A+ for beer and food prices.
The food was fantastic. A really, really good burger, and an excellent short rib grilled cheese.
Their happy hour selection is excellent as well - although $2.00 off drafts is all I remember.
They've done an excellent job with the interior decor as well. Very classy.
Here's hoping they are successful... and here's hoping they don't raise their prices.
Been here a few times so far and have not been disappointed! Â Surprisingly GREAT Â food and a good selection of draft beers. The burger is phenomenal and a great price for the quality. Â All the apps are good too... Every visit has been worthwhile in my opinion. Check 'em out if you haven't already!
Review Source:good burger, decent pastrami sandwich. Â loved the fries. Â the waitress initially didn't notice us but then she got a glimpse of my dining companion who "ain't that ugly" and service vastly improved. Â normally that bothers me since her little sales pitch is all directed at him but i didn't care because all i wanted was food and water and no idle chit chat. Â will definitely come back when i'm feeling more "Irish."
Review Source:One of the BEST new restaurants I have been to in Denver!!
The menu selections are outstanding and the taste of all the food we tried was unbelievable! Â I am still dreaming about the Spinach Salad, which was served with quinoa, oven-roasted tomatoes, and goat cheese! Â Truly one of the best salads I have ever had in my life. Â
Then for the main course was the Salmon Fish & Chips and the Burger. Â It was so unique to see fish & chips made with salmon and the flavor was wonderful. Â It was served with an excellent apple coleslaw that could stand all on its own it was so good! Â The burger was TO-DIE-FOR! Â Juicy meat, creamy & flavorful sauce, crisp bacon, soft bread - DELICIOUS! Â Words are hard to describe how good the burger was - you just have to go try it for yourself!
I also tried the Pub's signature drink - The Finley. Â Absolutely perfect. Â Refreshing, not overpowering gin taste, and a subtle yet perfect ginger spice flavor. Â They also had a ton of beer options at great prices, and other cocktails as well.
The service was also outstanding. Â Very friendly, attentive, and anticipatory - I never had to ask for anything, she always knew what I needed before I did.
They have a cute patio with about 8 tables and inside has a good amount of seating with the bar, tables, booth's and a warm, fun decor. Â
I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!!!
Even if you are not in the Wash Park area, this Pub is worth ANY drive! Â Go check it out!
Love this place!! The service is friendly, fast, and the owner has been there every time I've been in (he's introduced himself and greeted me by name and is not above taking an order or delivering drinks/food to your table.) I've had 3 different servers and each has been wonderful - attentive, friendly, helpful, and sweet.
I've been here 3 times and love their beer list and menu. I've had the shrimp and grits (oh, my, GOD!! I could NOT stop eating even after I was full - AMAZING!!!), the arugula salad (absolutely delish, but a bit small for a $9 salad), the hummus platter (BEST I've ever had!!! LOVE!!!), the sweet potato fries (I don't even really like sweet potato fries, and these are absolutely YUMMY), and the short rib grilled cheese (it's pretty good, but probably not my favorite thing I've had).
This place is a great alternative to scandle lite for those of us who live in the west wash park neighborhood and crave a neighborhood pub we can walk to. It's the type of place you can take a date, your family, your dog, your boss, and your friends.
The food is far and above better than anything you'd expect to get in a 'pub' and the decor is awesome. Definitely the right mix of class and humor. Overall, I think this is a WONDERFUL place and I would highly recommend it. Once the word gets out about this place, expect it to be difficult to get into.
Overjoyed to have them in the neighborhood!!! Welcome!!!!
Here's the rub- come for the beer stay for the grub!
Cute upscale bar next to the scandle light in west wash park neighborhood. Â Parking is fine, service is friendly, beers on tap and in bottle are interesting and sufficient, patio is nice, decor is colorado/irish.
Food is outstanding for a bar!!!!
Alcohol and food are well priced for portion and quality, in fact price is excellent :). Â Chef Bentley has created a very interesting menu with fusion of pub grub, deep south , and farm to table. Â
This is the best burger in town --get here before word gets out. Shrimp and grits great. hazel dell and arugula salad very good . quinoa salad very good. Â Cajun tots- yummy but need more spice (IMO) sheepherds pie croquettes -awesome. Â Green beans-yes green beans!!!! totally awesome.
Overall, get here and keep coming back this is a local that deserves business and love!
Congrats Pete and Bentley,
U done good!
AWESOME! Let me just yell for a minute! Everyone in the neighborhood has been waiting and watching for this little nugget to open today. Holy smokes, you had me at "Pub".
The mushroom salad - good lord, there are not enough mushrooms on menus in Denver and this little goat cheese dotted wonder was fantastic. I was a little worried about the lemon vinaigrette but it was perfect. The beet salad was good, a bit too sweet for our tastes, it had candied pecans and a honey marscapone dressing, it was good and if you like sweet, you will love it.
Now, the shrimp and grits; holy channeling-a-cajun-at an-Irish-pub batman! It was perfect, the shrimp is crisp and sweet and hot and juicy and lord, bacon. Did I mention, bacon? Seriously, the menu is going to get a go over by me personally. There is also a very nice beer list that I know I will also experience on a deep level.
There are a few wobbles, nothing worth mentioning here that can't be fixed as they get their sea-legs under them. This place is all the hopes and dreams of a small business and I give props to Pete, the owner (who introduced himself and checked on us) - keep the faith man, all of West Washington Park is rooting for you. My new local for sure.
