I always enjoy Flemings the steak here is very very good, nice wine selection and very attentive wait staff. If you are lucky enough to be eating in the bar area Flemings has an outstanding burger made with a 6oz filet mignon that is one of the best I have ever had and about 20 bucks. Perfect for groups or mother in law dinners. Keep up the outstanding work Flemings
Review Source:This is one of my favorite steak houses when I want to enjoy a leisurely meal where I'm not rushed, for a change. It is hard to decide if Sunday's Prime Rib is better than their juicy fillet's, rib eye or their happy  hour delicious cheeseburgers!!  Let's not forget the calamari, various potato dish's, grilled asparagus, blue cheese wedge and the list goes on and on for compliments and consistency.  And I love that they keep your preferences on file for where you like to sit and you favorite wait staff.  Their customer service excels also.  AND let's not forget the Kettle one martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, yummy wine and to finish off the meal.... if you have room. The molten lava cake.
Also, don't forget to try the scallops with their amazing flavor. Â Everything is generous to share so you can taste a bit of everything.
My only complaint right now, it seems noisier than it used to be to carry on a good conversation with your other dinner guests across the table.
And tonight we found out our FAVORITE waitress has moved back to town! (Meredith!)
Very typical high end steakhouse. Â Not quite in a mall but in a separate building that is part of a large shopping complex. Â About 15 minutes from downtown Birmingham so be prepared for a bit of a drive. Â I'm not a frequent visitor to Birmingham but my sense is that if you want good food you can either go to 5 Points area or go for a drive.
There is plenty of free parking (and valet parking). Â The lot and the restaurant were packed on a recent Tues. night. Â Two of us walked in without reservations and were politely told it would be a 30 minute wait. Â We decided to eat at the bar. Â It was full too, but mostly of patrons waiting to be seated as opposed to hang out and drink, and a couple of spaces cleared quickly.
The bartender told us Fleming's is a chain of 70 restaurants but to their credit it doesn't seem like a chain. Â Decor and atmosphere is lively but not stuffy. Â The menu is typical steakhouse stuff and while it is expensive it did not seem as pricey as urban steakhouses I have been to in say Chicago or NY. Â
You can order the full menu at the bar. Â Note that there are no burgers on that menu but there is a bar menu that has them. Â Don't know if you can order that at the table--would seem kind of cheesey. Â Also there is a happy hour special for food and appetizers until 7 pm.
We had the pork chops which were delicious. Â Well cooked and seasoned and flavorful.
I couldn't help but note that it was a very upper middle class southern suburban environment with a clientele to match. Â But that did not detract from the food and the service and all in all it was an enjoyable experience.
Wow, I was amazed to see that there was no review for the Birmingham Fleming's because it is always packed. Â This is a wonderful fine dining experience in Birmingham, located at The Summit. Â I still can't believe it is owned by the same chain as Outback.
It is also pricey but that is what you should expect for a fine dining experience like this; and for me it has always been worth every penny!
By far, this is my favorite restaurant to go to for a special occasion or if I want to have a really awesome steak! Â I have been here numerous times, so I have tried a variety of items on the menu...all their sides are FANTASTIC! Â But I do have my favorites: Â The Tenderloin Carpaccio and Seared Ahi Tuna appetizers, Main Filet, Sauteed Mushrooms, Asparagus and Onion Rings!
It has your typical fining steakhouse atmosphere. Â But can get quite noisy when really busy. Â (the best spot for a private , romantic meal is the back left corner table) Our servers have always been excellent... it is obvious they have a wonderful training program for their staff. Â I reccomend making reservations if you will be dining. Â Another option to save money but enjoy the fabulous food is to eat one of their prime burgers at the bar or go to bar before 7pm to enjoy the $6 drink and appetizer bar menu!
